Sharon what size turkey do you use? I don’t think I could fit one we buy in our slow cooker.

Hope that all of you in the States had a wonderful day.

Waving. Off I go and back to our chores. Never ending but soon it’s poppet time and we have pre Xmas things on the next week so I get some days off from chores. Happy days

Jayne we would never fit a turkey in our slow cooker as we do the whole bird!

Ours dinner was delicious yesterday, the pumpkin cheesecake and bread pudding was too.
I love turkey and stuffing sandwiches but I was just too full last night to have one.

Going out for brunch at 11, finishing packing and leaving for the airport at 4.30pm , all booked in and DIL just printed our boarding passes, seems to have gone so quickly !
Just hoping they get to come over in summer, DIL still has to get the all clear to fly since her DVT so fingers crossed.

Jan, we wouldn’t either as we do a full bird. We only just can get it into our oven or cook it slowly in the bbq. I did do turkey rolls a couple of years but the kids don’t like them.

Have a safe flight home.

Happy Saturday everyone

Oh.. How big of a turkey breast do I need for 3 people? And I will try the trick with making a rack from tin foil. Though no wine. I don't drink.. Grumpy doesn't like wine... Oh.. I don't know about sweet pea.

December I start cleaning up my 'crap' room and make it into a craft room again. Accepting any advice!

Oh stage 1 was to clear out a ton of inks. The special needs class will be getting the inks, crafting chalk, and some wood mount stamps in time for Christmas.

I didn’t use a rack, and you can just use Chicken broth. We did a 9lb breast for 7 of us and had left overs. We did almost 7 for the two of us. Now, have had leftover meal, and now sanwiches, and more to freeze. So that is probably all you need, is 7 lb breast. And remember, there is no dark meat on a breast.

I did a 7.4 lb turkey breast for four of us and just finished the leftovers for lunch today! That's even sending some home with DS1 and DIL.

Good for you Lynn. I sort by colour...everything. Stamps and coordinating dies together. Mixed media products together. Stamps, dies, EFs by theme. It sort of works but I’m going to revisit it when I declutter the room again...soon. I’d also welcome some tips.

I think with the wine that is used in Sharon’s recipe that the alcohol content evaporates once it boils..it’s more to add flavour and you can’t taste it in cooking. I think that’s right but I’m no cook. Hopefully someone who is will advise.

Happy Sunday everyone

Since all my paper us Stampin' Up! I sort by color families. My stamps are sorted alphabetically by set name. Christmas stamps are separate.

I will just use stock. You are right that the alcohol will cook off and leave the flavor. I have absolutely no clue what wine would taste good .. I think my son was 8 when he asked me to not drink. My son is now 30. I usually toast with sparking cider.

I made a huge Shepard's pie.. Ground beef.. Onion.. Cream style corn and mashed potatoes. On top I sprinkled a variety of 'spicy' seasoning. Grumpy will be picking it up tomorrow. We have winter arriving with a storm tomorrow so I am gonna try an Italian chicken and veg sheet pan. I hope it turns out.

That worked out well! I was gonna make Italian chicken and veg for the freezer but grumpy came over to help me so we had it for dinner. Sweet pea ate almost all the veg so they only have chicken for a second meal. I opened my Davids tea advent calendar and enjoyed a good pot of tea.

I used this recipe.. The only changes.. I wrapped the boneless skinless chicken in foil so they would not dry out. I did 2 pans to fill the oven so there would be enough veg for sweet pea

Good morning, arrived safe and sound, we had an upgrade to business class as Steve’s tv wouldn’t work, they tried to reset it quite a few times then it didn’t work at all, after our meal they came collected our hand luggage and moved us, we had a good sleep as the seats fold flat, our GS was so pleased to see us which was lovely, he wouldn’t let me sit down, he wanted to take me around the house showing me all his toys.
Our car started the first time, it’s been stood for seven weeks so it’s always a worry.
Oh and it’s really cold and windy here, our DIL in SF said they had really bad storms so it’s a good job we flew Friday as we may have been delayed.
Having my tea in bed ready to start the day as I have to take GS to Kindergarten at 8am!

Lynn, I forgot to mention. I received your lovely Christmas card last week. Thanks so much. The sweater knit pattern is great. Now I just need a real sweater to go with it.

Hey feeling better.. My bp is more normal.

Big hugs and prayers for Kathy

I have sent out some Christmas cards but I may have missed some people by mistake. Ann has created a thread so you can send a virtual card to your SCS friends. I will try and get my card posted and a link here before I go to bed.

Hugs to all

Default S2S19VV 'Faux anything'

Good morning ladies . I have just a few minutes before I have to go out. This week's challenge is to use any of the 44 technique that can be found in our tutorials section for anything faux. Faux leather, silk, stitching, etc. Just check it out. My favourite technique is faux patina, and I still had a ATC that had used this technique, so I quickly made a card last evening. It will not be uploaded until this afternoon. But here it is. Oh, when you use one of these technique, please upload your card to the gallery dedicated to that technique.

Just making chicken soup wishing I could send some out! I have had mine and sweet pea will be knocking at my door for the rest.. Especially since I used a bit more pepper! Oh I bought her an assortment of hot sauce for Christmas. She loves it when I do that!

Lynn, maybe just how sorry you are to hear about her Dad, and you know how Christmas will be hard. You are sending prayers for her comfort during Christmas for her and her family.
Thank

Well today’s the day, we leave at lunchtime, unfortunately the weather is bad, a storm is arriving today. We had an email from the ferry company to say we will be late leaving Southampton, they are letting us board and go to bed but instead of leaving at 11pm we will sail in the early hours after the storm has passed, they say we will still arrive in Spain on Tuesday at 7.45 ! Not sure how but maybe they have cancelled the stop in Roscoff in France where they change the crew.
Just have a three hour drive to Southampton but it’s so windy!

Safe travels Jan. I pray the winds will die down and the storm will pass quickly.
Lynn, that card is so pretty. I love all the shine.

Jan, that ferry must be amazing. I didn't know of those you could sleep on while traveling. I've only seen the little ones around here that take you across the river! LOL pray the weather goes in your favor.
