The basket is coated so I can put things on it to charge. Keeps things from falling AND all the charging cables are so short these days. Oh no room lost on the table either and I don't have to dust it!

Oh it is plugged into a UPS which provides surge protection as well as battery backup in case of a power failure. My electric recliner is also plugged into it

Happy Saturday everyone...sleep well.

Jan, it may be easier and quicker for Steve to nip to the UK and get his tooth done..that would be painful. You must be getting excited to be heading off to the States to see your poppets...I wish we were going somewhere. I’m over this weather but in a few weeks time I will be saying how hot I am lol.

We are off to the footy tonight..it is going to be very cold. Time to rug up.

Bye for now

We have a month in the UK before SF, looking after our youngest GS, his mum is doing teacher training, our son said that he will try not to be late getting home while we are there, Steve said that we have done this before and regularly look after the other two GSs, the trouble is they worry leaving him With his other grandma, she isn't hands on at all, would rather be on her phone than play, our DIL told me that our GS was excited to see her when she was over for a visit but after a couple of days he just didn’t bother with her as she wasn’t interested in looking at his vast collection of animals, LoL,

Jayne does your BIL drive when he’s on holiday? I was just thinking last night of the logistics of doing all the journey by train, luggage etc as you will have so many changes.
Our neighbours just flew from Alicante to the uk but went from here by train, 90 mins drive, they left from a tiny station half an hour from here, changed in Murcia for Alicante. Steve picked them up when they came back as they didn’t want to leave their car at the station.
For me it sounds like a nightmare that’s why we drive to the uk, put everything in our car and go, Steve would say even the kitchen sink, LOL,

Hi Jan, I don't think he drives in Europe. He had a heart bypass a few years ago and I've never known him to drive in Europe. He drives everywhere in the UK though LOL. Not sure will check as I think it would be easier. I did suggest to my hubby he drove as he drove us last year all over Croatia and Bosnia but he's not keen in Spain. Maybe I can just get him to hire a car for that part. We do intend to stay in places 3 days...some a couple and are used to moving around so it doesn't bother us. In Granada when we meet my sister I think that we will stay for around 4 maybe 5 nights and thought we could perhaps get to you somehow from there and get back. If you can pm me the major town or even where we could get a train to that's close to you maybe we can make it happen if you are there. It would be so great to finally meet you when we are in that neck of the woods but if you are away we can't. We wouldn't impose on you for long...just a coffee or lunch and chat would be awesome.
We will have a look at the train route this coming week and try and figure something out.
Happy weekend.

When our family came over it was a nightmare as we had charging leads all over the place with all the iPhone and iPads, plus our sons had leads etc for laptops.

At Christmas time when DD and family come, we almost trip over all the cords! We take our iPads and phone and charge them in our bedroom. My laptop is in my craft room, which is DGD’s bedroom while they are here. But out here in the living room are two or three laptops (son and 2 grandsons, because they work while here!) and everyone has iPad or tablet; that is five of them. And of course everyone of them have phones! LOL

What a different world!

Sharon it’s a nightmare, luckily we all have apple products except son has a different laptop that has power leads etc, a work one as he works from here too,
Funny isn’t it, when we first got married and lived in Germany my parents did t even have a phone in the house, then they had a shared line so we could ring from a telephone box.
My mum always loved a written letter, we always wrote to each other up to when she died as she didn’t like the internet.
When cell phones came out Steve was adamant that he would never need one, LOL now he couldn’t live without one.

Actually had an hour in my craft room today, decided to use my circuit, I actually struggled to remember how to use it, it’s been so long since I switched it on.
Struggling for ideas for the boys cards, started two things and then gave up and sat in the Garden.

made of for a pain filled night with a good day! Not too sunny and not too cloudy. Went the 45 minutes north to the LSS. I have a picture of my haul. notice how my shoes match the bag and some of the items! LOLOL I got the lawn fawn shammy, one for me and one for my friend for her bday. The green container will be for my shammy and the pink for her. I got a glue holder and a 6x6 pack of male inspired paper. As soon as I get the rest of the photos I can scrapbook my son's trip.

oh! coming down the road and someone is honking at me! It was my son! they got me a GF tart. This after I was at the 'old curiosity tea shoppe' and had scones with clotted cream and jam! Since i am not celiac I can have some gluten and their scones are very much worth it! If I was a cat I would be purring! LOL

Lynn, is that LSS in Bolton? I know there is one there, but have never been, even though I frequently drive past the sign pointing to Bolton on my way to my daughter's place in Keswick.

Here is my LSS

The Workshop | Stouffville, ON

And they do have the Tim Holtz glass craft mat.

I live above the DVP and take it north to stouffville road then go East. A bit out of the way for you. The husband was behind the cash today as there was a class going on. I was asking about Nuvo drops. He couldn't say how they compared to stickles but he did show me the practice piece he made and that showed it really well. It is not a big store, I like that about it.

Lynn thanks for the link..that’s a cool golf card and I have a hot air balloon die and stamp that I could use to do the same. Happy day and love your shoes and toenails. Enjoy your goodies.

my new toy that I bought today. It holds the tombow glue so you don't have to prime it each time

Thats a great idea Lynn, I always have glues upside down in something or other as I get impatient when I have to wait for the glue to get to the bottom.

Your toes always look lovely, I need to do mine! Not something I enjoy doing as I hate feet. Scones are one of Steve’s favourites, also egg custard tarts. Unfortunately my scones always end up like biscuits, sorry cookies!

Jayne I was looking for info on trains, actually they have one part that shows where they start and finish ie Barcelona to Madrid and places on the way and I didn’t know they had the tourists trains with sleeping cars like the California Zephyr, all inclusive and trips on the way, a bit pricey though which is a shame as they look great.

We once went to Murcia on the train as Steve had a doctors appointment there and we didn’t know where it was and parking is not easy, we got off the train got in the taxi, he gave us a dirty look when we showed him the address, pulled out of the station and drove down the Main Street for maybe two minutes and he stopped, it was literally a five minute walk, he was not impressed at such a short drive I can tell you! LOL, we thought it was hilarious.

Well I’ve nearly finished one GSs card, decided to make a shaker card, usually I cut everything before glueing! Well filled it with glitter and every time I put the clear sheet over the glitter it just jumped up at it! Static I guess! I made it eventually but not as good as I liked.
Now I have to put silver round the star shape on the front.
It doesn’t help that I have non craft stuff in there to be put in the attic but I don’t want to go in the attic until someone has finished bringing stuff up as I have to crawl about on on my knees, not good when my hip is painful.

If you are in the states here is the glue holder

The TIPSY Tombow Glue Holder | Etsy

Not that I don't want to support my LSS.

Jan can order it to SF for her trip. Nice and small!

One of these days I will go to the old curiosity tea shop and try some of the other delights! The women at the table behind me had a dessert tray. I was drooling so bad they thought I was gonna steal it!

Yes Lynn that's exactly what my friend made for herself. I like the one you posted better though LOL.

I hope you all slept well...nearly time for dinner here. We have just got back from the poppets swimming classes. I seem to be tired all the time at present...maybe I need a tonic or something LOL. Happy Monday

Jayne we’ve had problems sleeping and waking up tired, I think it’s the heat,

I’ve managed to finish the boys cards, just need to do the inners, good job I have been making Christmas cards all year, I’ve got enough now so they are finished and ready to pack, might as well post them early in SF and the UK, saves on postage!!

Lynn I might have a go at the holder IF I have time, we are having a ton of logs delivered this afternoon, oh, joy, it’s going to rain tomorrow apparently so we need to get it in the log shed so it’s all ready for when we come back.

We are shattered, took over an hour to stack the logs, in the sun, it had been cloudy all day until they arrived, but he time he had dropped them on the drive the sun was out, I took out a bottle of cold water for us to keep drinking, I looked like a beetroot my face was so red. The man owns the wood yard, he brings his little lorry that is just smaller than the width of our drive and he reversed it down the drive to drop the logs at the bottom, amazes me as I always think he will hit the walls, never does.

I made one of the holders but its definately 1 3/8. Also, mytombow wouldn't fit. Finally figured out why. I buy the larger bottle of tombow! So I gave up on that idea! It was a good idea.

I have made 4 altready, but I have been tweeking with the measurements, and am now using a 12 inch strip and have used a smalller circle for the lower hole. I did not have the right size punch, so am using circle dies.

So it's my Michael's friends birthday tomorrow. She loves the shammy. Likes the pink shammy holder and is thinking about the tombow holder.

This is what my final one looks like.
I use an acrylic holder, that is in the shape of a small wine glass, but these are cute and would make great little gifts.

And yes, your eyes are not deceiving you. The top fold is angled. It happened inadvertently, but I like it that way and it seems to support the glue better.

I was going to make five as gifts but we use the taller tombow bottle and it tips over in this holder. If I decide to use this as gifts I may have to see if LSS sells the regular size bottles. They are cute and easy to make. I recommend a 1 3/8" punch or die. She has 1 3/4" punch but that is too big.
