In the month of July I have ONE day that doesn't have other people involved in my life! That isn't a bad thing, just means I probably won't get another fun playtime in the stamp room very soon

I don’t know what I would be like living alone, Ina. Even with two of us, I am always hearing things. DH doesn’t hear all the things I hear.

Here is a Blog Post I did in 2018 about alcohol inks and lift pad. I had watched TH tutorials before I did the post.

Sharon your alcohol ink play worked better than mine and is really pretty. Love the stamp you used. I tried 3 times to lift and each time it lifted colour but when I went to dab/wipe the original panel it was very light and I couldn’t see the stamping so I had to start from scratch. Any tips...did you use a lot of lift ink or did you apply a lot of pressure to the stamping or just normal. I will have a go again one day.

It’s time for bed this end...nite everyone. Have fun

I used my Misti, probably. Another time, I tried and didn’t work as well with the cheaper imitation of Yuppo. Also you mentioned it doesn’t lift when you use the metallic fixatives, which I did. Also, in that blog post, it could have been beginners luck! That lacy image worked better than my dragonfly.
So, probably a combo of stamps, paper, pressure , maybe, and certain colors of alcohol inks?

Yay for the U.SA girls Soccer team! They won the World Cup!

Jayne, make sure your stamp is clean. Then ink it well with the alcohol lifter. Hold it on the piece a few seconds. Then I dabbed first to remove the wet lifter. After dabbing, then rub. It shouldn't lighten up around it if you've dabbed it off well. I'll try to post a picture of my pieces soon.

I used a stencil on the first piece. The pieces that I used the medallion stamp on...the first on the left is where I stamped on the stamp with lifter. The one on the right is the ink that was lifted off. I used it for a second background.

Thanks Sharon and Kathy for the tips. I use Ranger yupo paper so it should be good quality and my stamp was brand new. I think I didn’t rub after lifting...I will try again. Kathy yours are lovely. Thanks again.

I have no hot air balloons but this stamp image is one of my very first images! The idea is balloons floating in the air. Flying High by FayeMakesCards - at Splitcoaststampers

Smile Power by FayeMakesCards - at Splitcoaststampers this is an easy card to make for smile power!

Scrappy Frame by FayeMakesCards - at Splitcoaststampers This one I used scraps that I was saving for sponging a shape! They were laying together and I decided they worked!

3 more cards finished for this group. I enjoy the challenges, thanks for helping me add to my stash for the hospital donation.

2 challenges to be caught up...I don't have alcohol inks nor markers that I know of...Don has a set of Sharpies that are different colors, maybe those are ones that work...

I've never looked at the challenges for this type of ink as I was not investing in something I know I wouldn't use...I'll check to see what there is for tutorials here.

Also...shade/shadow...that's got me thinking also...maybe there is an old SU set that will work for this...oh I know...I have some birds with a smidge of shadow to the image I think...

Thinking through my fingers sometimes helps...

Hey! Everyone is getting crafty! Yeah!

Ina I would have ducked too!

Me.. I am a mess. Yesterday was a crazy night in Lynn-land. I was feeling wonky and wanted to discuss it with grumpy. One brain is better than none! Every time I called him it said .. Call ended. But I could text. I tried to call sweet pea.. Same thing. She called me And we got a hello before the call dropped. Couldn't call the service provider and I don't have a landline. Yup I was getting freaky. Grumpy came over. OK long story short...I only have a cell phone. My provider had an outage.. I couldn't call anyone. The trio had just left for z few days and they don't have a landline either. How would I call for help if I can't make z call. Yup I was a mess.

Oh, Lynn! That is what concerns me in dropping our landline. And even that has power outages! I thought the cell phone was the sure thing. But I guess not

I panic when my phone doesn't work but I still have my landline. Yesterday in Walmart my cell showed no service. Tried to text dh thinking walmarts WiFi would get me connected but it didn't. So I turned the phone off and back on. That worked. We did have one time when our phones didn't work and it was the providers issue. That is a rarity, and I'm thankful for that.

Lynn must be with Rogers! It was on the new that their network was down. Last week, when our landlne went out, I used my cell phone to call in the problem, and the receptionist said she would have a repair person at my house the nest day to repair my phone. I had a hard time convincing her that it was a system problem (as I had walked to the neighbours to check on their phones). Apparently I was the first one to call it in. Fixed in 4 hours.

I just got home from our 9 until noon soccer/Bible camp. Went out for lunch afterwards and ran some errands. Now, I need to mow part of the lawn.

If someone decides to take out communication all they'd have to do is hit the cell towers and people would go into a panic! We rely on these things for everything!

So from what I know. The telephone companies were required to have telephone service in case of an emergency. So if you have a landline and an old phone without any electronic stuff.. Then you should be able to call in an emergency if the line itself is not cut.

If a power grid goes down everyone picks up their cell phones to call but then the cell towers get flooded. There is no requirements for cell providers to keep their services up.

If you have a home phone system that works across your cable.. That big black wire that connects to the TV or modem.. Then IF you have a battery backup you may be able to still make calls from a simple phone.

If you have the new fiber optic or VoIP.. Then you lose ability to make calls.

So yesterday the cell phone provider.. The one who owns all the towers and cables has a problem.. You may not be able to make or receive a call.

OK so I have not made a disaster recovery plan in quite a few years so things may have changed.

Lynn I used to work in communications and now wish mobiles...cell phones.... hadn’t been invented lol. Hubby designed our network for our State and he also says the same. They are great for emergencies. I used to love sending letters and writing to people. When we go out to eat we don’t get our mobiles out and I watch couples sitting looking at their phones or giving their kids their phones so they can play games on them. Whatever happened to talking. Our kids are shocking at times and we insist their phones are put away when they come here for dinner. Even with friends I have to ask that they don’t get their mobile out when we catch up...one friend had her family calling her all the time...just to ask when she was coming home. Honestly. It’s sad. We are currently thinking of getting rid of our home phone as we are paying for services we don’t use. Only 2 people call us on it now...oh yep and lots of telemarketers.

Moving on.....time to say happy Tuesday and see you tomorrow.

Have a great day

I’ve been playing this arvo...got very inky hands. I went outside and made these alcohol ink panels, including my Uluru Rock.

Then used my gel press playing with acrylic paints, spray inks and anything else I have on greaseproof paper...came out ok. Still have to finish them but the first cut. It has helped me get back to feeling human again lol.

Changed my rose panel too and so much happier with this one.

Gorgeous backgrounds, Jayne! I am glad you are feeling normal again! Maybe you will scrap some?

The heat & humidity is getting to me. Yesterday, it was like I hit a wall. I tried to lay own and rest but couldn’t. Last night DH & I both took something for our shoulders, and went to bed early! This morning I got up and decided I am not going walking. I am going to say that is what is wrong with me. Even though when I walk in the mornings the temp is only 80, the humidity is terrible! On weather last night at 5:00pm, the temp was “feel like“ 103 degrees out. I have never done well with humidity and could never live in the south!
Whine, whine! LOL. My VSN cards are done. Might go back to scrapping. I usually blog on Monday Tuesday. Didn’t even do that.
Jan, did you? Or did you already leave to go get the grandsons?

Kathy rocks! You caught all the big ones! The cats will eat tonight!

I should maybe explain since my head is muddled. When I was younger I always had to clean the fish. I would take all that and feed the cat. Then I would take what was left to the corner of the lot and leave the rest for the stray cats.

That last catfish....our guide hooked. Then he grabs my rod and hands me his to reel it in! He said he loved watching my face as I fought to get it in! LOL

And we didn't catch them all that fast. He put several videos together. We did catch quite a few quickly, but there were times when nothing was biting. Loved the boat ride, watching the bald eagle, the deer wading in the river and all the herons!

I changed my Rose card...here is the new one...so much happier with this. I’ve just accidentally sat on it whilst I’m sitting on the couch amending my gallery. I’ve tore the Wish off...this card is definitely not meant to be lol. I hope I have more of my alcohol foil left in my stash. I wonder what I can call it next lol.

Happy Thursday

Yay...it’s Kathy...hi there. Awesome video and so nice to see you. Wow you guys had fun and caught heaps. I’m going to ask my son to take me fishing on his boat....Shame I get seasick lol. Loved it. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks also for the challenge. I have made boxes before...well twice and my SU friend was trying to get me to make one. I shall add it to my list, including Sharon’s scrapping.

Lynn, the posset does sound yummy. Glad you are back with us.

Faye, I missed your cards...well done on the challenges.

Happy Thursday everyone....the cricket is on and Australia is in trouble...eek.

Wow Kathy, look at you, Steve once took me sea fishing, I was sick for two hours as we just had a feather on a line and it was very choppy! Never again!

Sharon I haven’t managed to do my scrap page, too hot and too busy getting ready, I had doctors yesterday and she was an hour late, tomorrow steve has cardiologist and then Saturday afternoon we fly to England to collect the boys. I haven’t been in my craft room all week as it’s just baking, just chilling and swimming.

Jayne, Steve was watching the cricket, he’s been cheering that we actually won!
Steve hardly dare watch as he is a jinx !
