Ina how is your area?

My son is thinking that his canoe trip will be different. With the high water levels, he is hoping to float the canoe over portage areas. Portage areas mean everything comes out of the canoe and on to their backs. Then they put the canoe on top of that! With grumpy carrying about 200 pounds of mail in a day we aren't worried about him being fit. His friend is an iron worker who is just as strong.

Our lake is quite full, but they are not rushing nearly as much water through the dam anymore, so the river is not as high. It is no different from any other year at this point. The water is still too cold for me to put the kayak in.

Yeah that would be cold! I remember doing capsize recovery in a day sailer when I was in Vancouver. By the time I was back in the sail boat and bailed enough water, my lips were blue! I really wanted to do kayak but my son was too young to be left alone.

Approx size of the sailboat

My son completed the CYA level 1 so he was trained to sail by himself. I remember doing a scrapbook page on it. When grumpy visited his father in the summer, his dad put him in a sailing and swimming program. I think he played tennis at the club too! I was never able to afford that for him. Unfortunately his dad would take vacation the first week my son was there. Yup he took vacation up north fishing accessible only by airplane by himself. Enough said about him

We have had three inches of rain today and it is still raining. We had four inches earlier this week, and I don’t know how much for whole month, but it has rained a lot! Our rivers and drainage ditch are full, and we have some flooded streets! Our sump pump just keeps running.dont know when it will quit!

I was hoping you would post a link so I wouldn't have to go hunting again...but I won't make any more cards until June so doesn't matter!

In May I made 50 different cards and about 30 duplicates! Great month.

We used to have Xmas around the piano too when my nan was alive and then they burnt the piano on the bonfire. I will always remember that. I was so upset.

Sharon, that’s a lot of rain. Rebekah just sent a message saying that the storms had passed or gone around them. We have sunshine again and 21 degrees which isn’t the norm for winter but cool in the evenings. I will be able to get my washing dry and before the washing machine is dismantled.

Faye beautiful cards...I left you some love. Going to check out Sharon’s Card now.

Lynn, don’t forget the fold card today..it’s now Saturday here and when you wake will be there too lol.

I’m going to create today...that’s the plan but anything could happen.

Enjoy whatever your plans.

We’re having strange weather here too, two nights running we’ve had thunder and rain showers, very unusual for May, usually from February or March that’s the last of the rain until November. Everyone we speak to are repairing their roof because of leaks!

Yep the day hasn’t gone to plan but it’s been ok. I’m still not in my craft room but hope to get in there soon. I’ve washed the car and vacuumed it and hubby did the ironing..I do t like ironing and he is better at it than me. We have an arrangement...I shop and mainly do the cooking and he irons lol. It works for us.

The poppets rang..yay..so good to chat. They had been to an animal farm and rode on camels..very excited. They are also coming next weekend for a sleepover..another yay. They’ve already told me what they would like to make....one a sword and one a crown...we are going to do the metal technique. Now I need to find a you tube using cardboard and black gesso and embossing powders. DGS said he wants gold.

We have only just had lunch..late...an Aussie beef pie with sauce...been a long time since we had one of these and it was yummy. Leftovers for dinner so I won’t be cooking tonight..another yay.

Now I am going to my craft room. Kathy thanks for the video. I’ve subscribed to a lady on YouTube called LindaBauwin. She does a lot of fold cards but I like the look of this one. When I was trying to do a fold card the other day I ended up with a gate card and will still use it one day.

Bye for now everyone. I hope no rain for you all.

I’ve received a message from sis Vicki...she says....

She woke at 12.30 am Saturday morning to have eye drops in and she was going back to bed. She’s woken again with a bad headache and nausea. She hasn’t seen another dr since her post op and her next visit is 30th June.

She misses and loves everyone. Good news...things around her seem brighter so she thinks her eye is slowly clearing or she’s coming off the dilation he put in her eyes. The post op nurse told her that the guy put something into her eye to help the eye and pain. She’s remaining positive but has been worrying about everything and her hubby’s upcoming surgery.

She tries to pop in and see the chats but her head spins and her family are making sure she’s not texting or online lol. She’s naughty and they are having to keep her in line.

It does sound like good news.

Lynn...she also asked if you could let her know how much you want for the punches you have she was seeking. I think you posted a photo of them on this thread...post #1149. She must be getting better if she’s thinking of craft stash...lol.

Get well sis Vicki.....hugs from us all

OK Lynn. It's Saturday so hop to it and make that fun fold!

I swept, dusted and wet wiped my hallway, living room and kitchen. Shook out the rugs. Changed bedding and have a load of clothes washing. The clothes could have waited but I like playing with my new washer! LOL

I can't sit here long or I'll lose my ambition!

Kathy, isn’t it mad when we have a new toy we can’t stop using it, we bought a robotic vacuum and was totally fascinated by it for months!

We’ve spent a couple of hours putting split canes over the BBQ area, for shade when the family come over, poor Steve and his dodgy knees had to keep goi g up and down the ladder to tie them on, looks better now and gives more shade.

Mind you I had a scare when I was sweeping up the bits, there was a dead centipede, it was quite big and really orange, we once saw one years ago that actually looked like a snake. Yikes I hopes there’s no more.

Jan, I would be playing with the vacuum too! They are fun to watch. LOL. That centipede must have been big for you to think it was a snake! Yikes! We get tiny little ones in the house towards Fall. But not so much the past year or two.

Sorry I have been slow. I have the punches. I found a container to put them in and am using shredded paper for packing. Now to get my computer to cooperate so I can do the customs declaration and address label for Hawaiian. My body and computer have not been cooperating. Sending her big hugs to get better quickly!

Lynn, take it easy. I will let Sis Vicki know that you haven’t forgotten about the punches. Maybe pm her as she didn’t know how much you wanted for them. Rest first and get right.

People keep telling me that they have lovely stamps and cards in the Uk but I can never find any craft shops when I visit or when I lived there lol. I only come across Hobby Lobby....even in London I couldn’t find any. The video is great..thanks Lynn..beautiful fold card.

Sharon, gorgeous cards.

I’m going through challenges that I would like to try...one day lol.

Happy day

Jayne I used to buy online even in England as there’s never been any craft shops near our sons houses, I only buy in SF, either Michaels or joanns, there’s both quite near our sons but I still buy more online as joanns seems to have more materials in the shop and Michaels have a lot of wedding and baking stuff I think.

I got excited as a friend who lives around the corner told me there was a craft shop open in the port, it’s one of those shops that sells bits and bobs but not craft stuff as we know it! Steve was relieved LOL

Feeling much better thank you! Sweet pea called Amazon and dealt with their mistake. Oh she is so sweet but boy can she be a Pitt bull with customer service!
My son came and got me today. We went to a store and found me a bp machine. The poor guy in the store was checking on me every 5 minutes .. Explained everything to both of us. My son took me to a hole in the wall BBQ meat place. Not much to look at but the food was delicious! My son brought me home. Cleaned out my car.. Put all the winter stuff away. Came up and rearrange everything to set up my air conditioner then cleaned up for me. I love him so much!
I have been told to sit in my recliner and take it easy.

I am sending her the punches and will tell her the shipping costs as soon as I can get printing. I need to get the customs documents done or else the post office will just send it back to me. Sorry I am slow.

Your son is so good Lynn. Hope you are doing as you are told and reclining and taking it easy. Sis Vicki will be pleased. No apologies...Vicki was just checking.

Jan, I bet Steve is happy. When I see a shop say craft I head in and find it's not craft as we know it but more of a gift shop. I still spend ages in there though browsing much to hubby's disgust LOL.

Update...Vicki is improving slowly....she still has headaches but I think her eye is improving.

I went for my blood tests today and have cleaned the house since. I am heading to my craft room. My goal is to load up 10 items per day onto my inventory database....I am loving this air table free app. This week is going to be a week of craft I think. I still need to make a sword and a crown for the poppets for them to paint this weekend when they come to stay. I'm hoping thick cardboard will do the trick.

I think my challenge is coming up in June for here so I will need to start thinking about that one...I have a couple of ideas.

Happy Monday everyone. Enjoy your day and week

Yes, Lynn, you have a great son, and sounds like he is very good to you.
Jayne, I have my stamp and supplies inventory in Evernote. What I have been doing since the move, is if I use the stamp, note in Evernote where it is stored because there are several places it could be, and everything changed when we moved.

I remember when I first started putting it all in Evernote, what a huge job it was! So I know you have huge job in front of you! But a little at a time.

Happy Memorial Day everyone!

Sharon, it is a big task...20 stamp sets in there and already I’m wishing it were done. The good news is that it is making me view stamps in a different light. I entered some sets tonight and saw there were sentiments and stamps that I never knew I had, plus a lot of stamps I’ve only used once lol. It also made me realise I have way too many birthday stamps lol. How many do I use? Probably 2...maybe 3...eek.

I’m also able to sit on the couch and enter them whilst hubby watches sport..lol.

Kathy, not sure whether you will be online after today. I will wish you a safe and happy fishing trip now..enjoy and hope you catch lots.

Nearly time for bed this end...nite.

Alohaaaaaa all !!
Just a quick stop by before I’m discovered being naughty and on here . This is my second awaking for eye drops duty lol and just needed to stop and say hi I miss and love ya all!! First awakening had a massive migraine headache went quickly back to bed !, this time around I woke with a migraine and nausea and popped a chocolate snickers the new peanut butter ones that’s out atm...and wooohoooo gone are both the migraine and nausea and I actually was up longer then the first time !!! And decided I just needed to come stop by to my loving Ohana here . Sis Lynn please take care of you first !, your always taking care of everyone else before you so please do you first and get that rest you need!!

Just a quick few updates or minor corrections .... I revisit surgeon/ eye dr May 30 th not June ...June I’m suppose to have my other eye done , but that’s going to be rescheduled due to the date is clashed with my daughters dr appt. and good too it gives me time to recover fully . I’ve been thinking gosh should they have just done both one time so I don’t have to go through this again? And do I want to do it again? Gosh I’m such a overthinker and worrier over everyone but yet it’s funny how I beg sis Lynn to care for herself first . Lol maybe I should take my own advise but I’ve been this way for so long . I’m so glad I have my SCS Ohana you all are a godsent!! I’m truely Blessed! That part of what helped me stay positive is knowing I’m loved and cared about by many and all of you and others on SCS as well.
Other clear up is yes like Ina zmention I also had their in house guy who does all their iv’s and such who did the same inserted the iv to leave me awake and aware so I could follow the surgeons directions of look up look down relax etc...I was nerves but their nurse assured me he was great and could do it in his sleep and had done thousands and only on one stick unlike most emergency visits I’ve had . Well I was so please and ready until I found out why he does it in one stick boy was I not a happy camper. I swear he not only looks like he needs to retire but from the way he did me I feel he should!! I tell you his one stick and then digging was horrific and a rude awaking!!! I call people like him grave diggers!!! Because they looking to be killed by the way they stick you and dig around and shove and shove because clearly they didn’t take the time to find a vain before going in . They stick then dig around looking to find one . When I was on my way home my hand was already black and blue and the pain was more from him then the surgery itself.
As for the earaches and other aches I’m not sure if it was more from the toothache that was triggered from him or whatever medication he inserted into my eye for it to help with healing and pain. But it was so odd after the surgery I had a bunch of diffrent things that was in pain and painful. And me being diabetic didn’t help either. I thought I was going to be so hungry by the time it was done Sind I had Fast from 9pm the night before and omg if it wasn’t a bad experience I think I’d say I should do it more often I maybe able to lose weight then lol I still haven’t return much to my full appetite. But I’m craving my Sis Kathy ‘s Wendy summer salad I had over 40 last year and the year before that was just 30+ .
Seem for me it’s not to beat how much I had but to see how much less hahaha no way with that yamO raspberry dressing I always request extra even if I don’t use it all I have extra for when it’s gone and I use it over some diced tomatoes and cucumbers or our own salads when theirs are gone , so I don’t need to wait a whole year for it to return. Lol I actually had enough to get me to march of this year all the extras hahahaha. Wish more in the household would love it as much as Des, my grandson and myself does so with every order we get extra dressing !!! Btw I always order 2 for me with each visit !, one for now and the other for the next meal or snack time lol.
Well that wasn’t such a short drive by but grandson is due to check on me soon and I feel the migraine stirring and the world is about to spin soon so I’m off love you all Fairy Much!!! Much Mahalo for the love , thought, concerns and prayers. There are no words!!!
