Jayne, maybe you are still tired from your trip, it takes me ages to get in the swing of it after we’ve been away, my head always feels all over the place.

I very often spoil a card, it’s finished and then I just have to do one more thing and I smudge something, ha,ha,

Jan I’ve just changed the moon and added in more white and also in the yellow. I didn’t go mad and kept dabbing it. I’ve put more wink of Stella on the fairy and on the card but you can’t see it. I’m stopping and moving on..lol.

I made ham soup for either later when hubby gets back from golf if he hasn’t already eaten there or lunch tomorrow.

Just remembered it was on the stove and after cleaning up a little mess, it smelt so good that I had to have a bowl. Oh my I’m licking my lips sitting in my craft room deciding what to do for Sharon’s challenge. Must concentrate otherwise I’ll be back in the kitchen having seconds lol.

Sea Mix by Ozpom - at Splitcoaststampers

It wasn’t the plan but I think it fits the challenge.

Happy day everyone....I need to get my washing in...it’s dark here now lol.

Jayne I did that Monday, doing the double emboss challenge, I decided to use enamel powder instead of embossing powder which didn’t stick very well so I rubbed some gilding wax on as it was the same colours but put too much on, didn’t like it so I got a wet wipe and rubbed it, some came off revealing the bg inks and I was quite pleased with it, looked much better than before so I got there in the end much to my surprise and I actually really enjoyed getting messy, the piece I made doing it the right way doesn’t look half as good so that’s gone into my collection of which I have many waiting to be used.

Something in me volunteered and I am going to ride out to Niagara Falls with my favorite cousin! I'll be glad when I get home and we haven't even left yet!!!!

I am not a traveler, really like my own ways and life. This will be interesting!

I still need to make a card using the fold...and I need to upload cards for all of May on several challenges.

Oh, Faye, have you been there before? It is amazing! I never tire of looking at those Falls!

Girls I did an easel fold and you know how I am with special folds. It took me a long time to make it! It is a 25th anniversary Card for our DD, so I wanted it to be special. Me doing this card reminded me of what you went through, Jayne. And, why do I get adhesive all over me and all over the card?
My main problem was making it stand up. At first, I did it like the tutorial and had made a punched border on bottom. It did not work, I didn’t like it anyway, so I took it off.I did the love dies instead, and after I took the photo, I realized the card would “catch” and stand at the top of the love dies. So that worked nicely. Done!

Sharon your card is absolutely beautiful and your daughter and hubby are going to love it.

Jan and Sharon....fold cards..lol. I love them and only did the one but following a friends instructions. I am going to beat them lol.

Happy day..I’m going for a very long walk...nearly 20k in fact and probably more if I lose my ball.

Default S2S19T 'Craft'

Of all the silly celebration days that appear on a site I often consult, this one is quite odd as a day to celebrate. May 25 is called a 'brown bag' day. A day to take a paper bag lunch to work. Seeing as what they call a brown bag is usually a sort of beige similar to what we call craft, I am challenging you to use craft paper, or SU crumb cake, or something similar. I can't photograph my card this evening, so I will post it tomorrow..

Happy Thursday. I did my walk and played 36 holes. So pleased with myself. It was a beautiful day and just perfect for golf.

My friend who is the SU demo also brought me my order to golf....$100 later...I’d bought all the items we used to make the metallic male happy birthday card lol. She also is going to teach me fold cards in coming weeks...I am determined to master them.

Enjoy

Hi again...I’ve had a message from sis Vicki and she’s in a lot of pain with eye pain, headaches and ear ache after her eye op. It sounds as though the guy hit a vein when he went in...eek. I so hope that she’s going to be ok and that this is normal after this kind of op and will disappear in a couple of days.

Ina, is this normal after a cataract removal? She sounds so down and in a lot of pain.
She said to say hi to everyone and sends her love to you all.

Jayne, she needs to go back to the surgeon. I have had catarac surgery and there was no pain ......some discomfort, but not bad..
Are you sure catarac surgery is all she had? The surgery is all external. They do not go 'in'. I did not have a general anaesthetic, just some meds to mellow me out, but I was awake throughout. Did not have any headache, or ear pain either. I think she needs to have it checked out.
My card is going in the mail today, but it will take awhile to get there.

I am a good girl. I was a bad girl. I have been corrupted!

I just got in from a walk. Was quite nice till they turned the sprinklers on! So I went to the back of the buildings.. Scary windy back there! The whole wind tunnel effect. Before that I went and checked out Davids tea. Sweet pea has been telling me about it. So very different from the old English style tea shop I usually go to. Very clinical.. Or sterile? I bought some tea. Yum! I just hope it doesn't bother my gut. Oh I was corrupted by sweet pea. She has been going to Davids tea for a while and bringing me goodies.

So I should be doing laundry but. Umm NO! I am gonna sit on the balcony with my new Caribbean crush iced tea! I have been stuck inside being wonky for too long!

Ina, I thought it was unusual but will recheck with her. I think it was when he put the IV in..she thinks he hit a vein. I will suggest she goes back. I think she has had her post op consultation and mentioned the pain but nothing was done or said. I’ll check in on her.

Thanks.

I also bought some goodies with a $50 voucher I had for our local craft shop...and I’ve unpacked my SU order. My craft room continues to burst at the seams lol.

Have a great day everyone..sending hugs for no reason

Sharon, yes I have been to Niagara Falls. September 2018 Don and I went with another couple. Had a good trip...stayed at a fabulous hotel that I would like to stay at again but my favorite cousin will not spend that amount of money on a nice hotel...she will spend money several times a day to buy a glass of iced tea!

We each spend our money in different ways! I save my pennies for comfort, I'll bring bottled water and not get any beverage when we eat, except water. My meals will be very half the price what she will spend.

It will be a different trip for me as I am a passenger, no voice in the trip but I volunteered for this!!!! I am excited about it.

Will be nervous if we go into Canada...just going through the borders will be stressful...and when I'm in Canada I am nervous about doing something wrong and getting in trouble! Unfounded I know but real for me.

Faye, We stayed on the Canada side in 2009 , and were on the 25th floor with a gorgeous view, especially at night when the Canadian Falls were all lit up! As we walked along the walkway I probably took a photo every view steps at each place I thought it a better view! LOL. We never used the car between getting there and leaving three days later. We had a suite, too, because DH gets up so much earlier than me. That way, he could get up, go to the sitting room, close the door and drink coffee.

We are same cheap meals, water for beverage. I hope you have a lovely time, despite the differences between you. How far is it from where you live?

Spent the morning at the hospital for Steve’s blood chart, we took the translator in case they told us anything complicated, needn’t have bothered, she spent five minutes with us, she arranges things so she has three people on the go and bobbles between them all! charged €20, she also changed the appointment from 8.30 to 9am and then was late so we ended waiting while they gave someone a lumber punch so for a five minute appointment we didn’t get home until lunchtime. Thank goodness we can go to the cardiologist on our own, in and out, no waiting around for her.

Our Gs has just graduated from Kindergarten ready for school next year, they had to tell everyone what they want to do when they leave school, our DIL is a scientist so I think hopes one of the boys will want to follow her into that, so charlie says he wants to be a chef! LOL jennie said most of the class apart from Charlie wants to be scientists!
Last year he wanted to be a rock star! He’s learning to play the piano but thinks he might prefer the violin so they bought him one!! I’ve requested a sound proof room before we get there, ha,ha, it’s bad enough hearing him plonking on the piano, our eldest GS plays really well, I love listening to him, especially when he plays Hey Jude, we all annoy him by singing along.

Jan, isn’t it wonderful to ha e musical talented grans? We so enjoy ours, but they didn’t get it from this side! All from their Dad, I say Dad, because he sings. No one else in his family sings or plays an instrument that I know of, but I might be wrong.

He doesn’t get it from me but my Grandad could play the piano, he was very talented. We used to have brilliant Christmas evenings at their house, everyone singing the old songs, She wears Red Feathers, etc, I still remember the words!

Steve played the violin at school until he went to the senior school and the other boys ribbed him so he stopped, LOL

Joey can read music and play really well, his school recital was the Darth Vader March!

Thank goodness we can go to the cardiologist on our own, in and out, no waiting around for her.
I had to smile about the 'lumber punch'. Sounds like boxing against a tree. Correct lingo is lumbar puncture.

Evem though we had excellent doctors, I always hated doing lumbar punctures. Scary stuff, dealing with the spine.

I can imagine Ina, so why do they do the lumbar punctures?

Home! I have been out and about. Was out at the scrapbook store which is 45 minutes away. Gonna take it easy for a bit then get a walk in before the rains come back tomorrow. Toronto island already flooding!

The next town is having community yardsales tomorrow. I love those but hate them too. Love them because there is lots to look at, but hate them because the traffic is horrible. People stop in the middle of the street! I won't be going.

Lynn, there is more to the Toronto Island story. The lake water levels are higher, which is causing the docking areas to be in danger of being under water and unsafe for docking for the main ferry. The ferry that goes to the airport will still be running, but that area has no access to the rest of the island.

Spinal taps (or lumbar puntures are done to take spinal fluid for the purpose of diagnosing diseases, like memingitis, cancer, m.s., and other diseases.
