I'm posting early as I have to be out first thing in the a.m. This will be an easy challenge, but it will be in two parts. The first part this week, and the second next week. For this week, choose two or more patterned papers, use them anyway you like. If you are o.k. to leave a card/project half finished, leave it alone, look at it a few times this week and imagine what you can do with it. More to come next week. My sample:

BTW, I did not adhere the dark blue mat to the burgundy base yet, as I haven't decided if I am going to add a ribbon, or perhaps a cord.

OH, I had lost this forum somewhere! I had to catch up on all the chatter.

So sorry, Lynn about your friend. I do hope the man's kids step up to take care of him. So sad. Hang in there and like Kelly said paint your toenails for some therapy. Sending prayers up for you and that family.

Great challenge Ina. Ina, I can do Feb. 21/28 and any dates you need me for after that.

Kelly, nice to see you posting.

Kathy, how are you doing?

Jan and Jayne, hello. Angie, hello. Victoria , hello.

Like I said I lost this subscription for a while. I will try to check in more often.
Hi to Sally, too!

Good morning ladies. Thank you for volunteering for challenges.
Kelly, I put you down for Sept. 26, but when it is closer to that time you can always switch it, if you need to.
Sharon, I have you in for Feb. 21. We will see what happens after that.
For all of you who are hesitating, just know that it is not manditory to post a sample (I certainly didn't manage samples for all the challenges last year) And a challenge can be as simple as 'feature a tree' or 'dig out your stencils, or coloured pencils, or bling, or whatever'.

Ina did you put me down for April 18th?

Do you want us to post photos of the first week, I have my papers cut and ready but not stuck down, I should tell you that I never stick until I have every part of the card cut and finished so this is no problem for me, I sometimes take weeks to make a card, especially special family ones!!!

Just got back from PT. I graduate next week...my words not theirs! LOL I told them I can continue on my own at home so they will do a progress report next week and then I'll continue on my own. He said he can see my core strength greatly improved and I know my pants were a bit loose so I feel it too. I have started an exercise thread to inspire, motivate, and be accountable. If anyone is interested in joining in on it, here is a link.

Hi..I take comfort in the fact that her priest was with her yesterday. She is still on support

I went out to look for crafting stuff and found NOTHING! eeek

I came home and cat threw my winter slippers at me! LOL Actually they were on top of a box she likes to hide in. But you can't see the top of the box cause my heavy duty winter coats hides it.. rotten cat.

Off to do laundry.. why doesn't it do itself.

Thanks Ina.

Still Friday here. Saw the poppets and will see them again tomorrow. Had hugs with their baby cousin. Such a cutie.

Basketball later....it's been a very long time since I watched a basketball game.

Happy weekend everyone. I shall be in my craft room at some stage as no golf this weekend.

I'm happy to have the 26th, Ina. That is my birthday. We never do anything that would interrupt with my posting but if something does come up, I'll try to give you advance notice. Shame we can't schedule posts for things like that like I do for Twitter lol

We have sleet right now. should see some snow but not sure how much. Guess I'll know when I get up in the morning.
No card making here yet. Still can't find the top of my work table. Was going to do that today but apparently the eggs got to my stomach this morning. Spent most of the day in the recliner. Tomorrow is another day!

Happy Saturday ladies....I like all of your posts....again LOL. I will not press the button going forward but know I do like your posts.

Kelly, hope you are feeling better.

I did some craft with the poppets today....they just love using my stash. I got out my cardstock to make Ina's challenge but that's as far as I got but I shall do it this weekend as I have a pretty clear day tomorrow.

Have fun.

It’s Steve’s birthday today, the boys rang and sang happy birthday to grandad who’s 102!
They are little monkeys.
Joey had a Venus fly trap for Christmas so he was telling me how he kills flies to feed it and he has new growth, he left it with Sandy who is their Nanny while they were away, apparently she did a good job as it has new heads growing!!! Honestly all the Christmas presents they get and that’s his favourite

You gave me a real giggle there Jan. Kids are so much fun! The venus fly trap is a living thing and interactive, so naturally, it's fun. My kids used to play with the boxes the toys came in and ignored the toy (which they had previously said they just HAD to have)

Sharon, I was going to say the same thing, we have pulled them round in boxes, they also love the bubble wrap.

Our youngest GS is into animals, he has so many, his mum found what looks like a dolls house that opens in the middle so it’s in two halves with just partitions, he has his lions and tigers in it, he carried it from his play room in to the lounge to show me earlier when they rang, it’s quite heavy but he struggled along with it as he had to show me his tigers house. He left a lion in our car and we didn’t find it until we arrived home and unloaded the car, so grandad showed him we had it, he cried, he can’t quite understand that we couldn’t give it to him, so today he asked me to show him it again, then he got upset again, our son said we are looking after it Until he comes over for a visit, not sure at two he understands!

Jan, I hope that Steve had a great day.

Speaking of birthdays, do we have a list of everyone's birthday and addresses on here. If so, I'm happy to provide my address...and date..lol. I'd like to have someone to send my cards I make to

I can send my details in a pm...I won't put on this thread in case of lurkers.

Our poppets also love boxes...even now. Our DGS has made himself a postbox that he leaves outside his room and we have to leave him notes in it...so cute. They came to play yesterday and gosh he made a wonderful mixed media page. I set them the challenge from the site last week. His was all cogs and clocks...absolutely awesome. Watch out TH

Lynn..sleep well. Look forward to seeing you back on our time clock.

I'm heading up to my play room...going to start Ina's card, make my sample for my challenge and scrap. I have nothing else to do today and have walked and done some grocery shopping. That's my lot for today.

Enjoy

Lynne (Lynn with an E), I didn't know it's official name until just now, but we refer to them as Xmas trees. They look absolutely gorgeous next to the grass trees (used to be known as blackboys but now we have to be politically correct). They are in most parks here at this time of year.

Here's some facts about them which is interesting. My hubby was just telling me that they wrap their roots around the roots of other trees and when he worked for a communications company they used to mistake cables as roots and wrap themselves around the cables...eek. It reminds me of a video I watched today on our local community site where a lady had posted a snake wrapping itself around a lizard (which wasn't small) and then eating it....eek. Thankfully it wasn't on the beach path this morning when we were there.

Ina, I started your challenge today and ended up making a card for 2 other challenges and completed the card (see below), so I made another one so that I can follow your progressive card challenge.

Here's they are:

Jayne, that is so interesting about the Christmas tree!
I still have to start my card for this challenge. Maybe after church today.

Oh, Jan, how precious is that story about your grandson and his lion. If I was an author, I would write a children’s book about that with the photos!

Jayne, love the tree photos, at first I thought it was similar to the one at the end of our road, ours is yellow and people are quite allergic to the pollen that runs down the road like dust if it rains when it’s in full flower,

Steve enjoyed his birthday, he chose not to go out for lunch, Saturday is his relaxing football focus afternoon/evening where he watches the English football results as they come in, it’s the one day he likes to have the tv on before evening, it was funny though, just as the results for his team, Nottingham Forest came on our eldest rang to sing happy birthday, with GS, he just put the tv back on and our youngest rang, then our DIL came back with the boys and rang, ha,ha, the program was about finished by the time they had all gone

Sharon, Steve has written about four tiny books for Joey and Charlie, about our visits but making them into an adventure, one was how Joey and Charlie helped Santa save Christmas! They still have them but they are on the book shelf now, they’ve out grown them, we even put photos on them, laminated the pages and used ring binder clips to hold them together.

I wasn’t in a crafty mood today so after I finished my cleaning I started to tidy my shelves in my craft room, I bought some magnets and decided to put them on the metal shelf holders and stick some tins on them so I could see at a glance what’s in them, I was so pleased with myself so when I came downstairs to make our cup of afternoon tea I started to tell steve, so when I finished he said, well jan, let me tell you how I’ve just organised my tool shed with the new boxes, so then he went on about putting nails in one box, etc and how he debated where to put his cable ties, sarcastic or what, as I was going back upstairs he said he would tell me more when I came back, must be what I love about him, his great interestt in my cardmaking, ha,ha,

Today is Monday chores day....I think if I have time I will pull the card I did yesterday apart....the one with the hearts on. It's no doing it for me...wrong papers or stencil so I shall rethink. Plus I have a LO I want to finish. Loving scrapping and seeing my photos again.

Jan what was the name of the thing Steve got you again for your photos? Sorry I forgot.

Happy day everyone

Jayne it’s called a Duo Link, I still haven’t gotten around to doing my iPad but it worked great on my iPhone.

I very often take cards apart, or don’t stick them together at all after spending ages trying to get them to work, I’m not good with patterned papers together so this challenge is good, makes me use them!

I don’t like murder mysteries normally but they redid a Poirot with a new character, was weird with another persons playing him and quite gory but I enjoyed it.

Thanks Jan...I will check it out.

I love murder mystery stories and also on TV and end up quoting who the baddie is before the end...LOL. I used to read all of Agatha Christie books in my 20's. I don't like too much blood and gore but these days there seems to be too much of it. I don't like watching drama shows that may give nutters ideas. I loved the Girl with The Dragon Tattoo books. I will read anything.

Heading to my craft room.

Steve read those books Jayne, is he the author who died? Someone gave me a couple of good books, The girl on the train and I let you go, I couldn’t put them down, I’ve been saving them for our son when he comes over, he has so many books stashed in my craft room, I keep taking them to the uk when we drive over as he has about three shelves full.
He used to buy them and leave them for Steve, we then lent them to friends, you know the Sharpe books, we have the set, the series was shot over here, we actually went to football match at Talavera, in the north and went to see the monument in the book. Also loads of other history type stuff.
