Happy Tuesday everyone.

Kelly, good luck with the writing. I still haven't got to your book that I downloaded yet...eek.

My back is much better today and I'm having a lazier day. Jan, your work sounds back breaking. They aren't the nice jobs.

Marinated lamb shoulder and will slow cook for dinner this evening and have with roast veggies or salad.

Sleep well.

Jayne what do you marinade your lamb shoulder in??? The BF grew up eating lamb but I didn't so I'm still trying to learn how to cook it. So far my favorite is lamb chops on the grill.

Angie, I'm using a recipe.....it is red wine vinegar (or malt vinegar) - 1/2 cup, 1/2 cup of brown sugar and s&p. That's it. Leave it for 30 mins but I am leaving it for about 1.5 hrs. I will then slow cook it in a dish with the marinade, 1.5 cups of chicken stock, garlic cloves (left whole) and sprigs of rosemary and add a little more brown sugar on the top. A friend told me to cook it for 5 hrs min on 90 degrees.

Another friend marinates hers with a morrocan marinade. I shall have to try that another day if this works out.

I will let you all know how it turns out.

Oh my, the lamb roast....the gravy....it was delicious. Angie, try it. The meat was so tender and juicy. I shall definitely cook it this way again.

Happy day. Time to watch another episode of Game of thrones before bed. Nite.

Lynn, what is really impressive about that photo, is that there is hardly any traffic on the DVP. For all of you who don't know, the Don Valley Parkway is usually bumper to bumper traffic. When I take it, I have a hard time moving into another lane of traffic, in order to exit, to go to Lynn's.

Wait a minute...you mean I could have met both of you when I was in Niagara Falls i September?

Here's a picture from my window this morning...we got about 3 inches of snow overnight and another 2 inches this morning.

The only reason the DVP also known as the Don Valley parking lot is empty cause it is after lunch, schools are closed, mail is canceled and many companies said work from home if you can.

I have been watching the off ramps. They come from low and go uphill to get on the overpass. So many cars get stuck there. Temperature difference, elevation and snow mean you have to drive differently and use momentum to get up the hill. Then again I have non clumping kitty litter in my trunk to use for traction. Stay safe!

I am so happy I live in South Texas! No snow for us. I only have to contend with our Winter Texans! So happy they are here though. They really give our economy a much needed boost! If it gets cool and they start to complain they are quickly reminded they could be back home and then they smile and rejoice!

Happy Wednesday everyone....I'm on school run today so heading out in a few mins to collect the poppets and bring them back. Food truck at the beach for dinner...there's 30 of them, all different cuisines from around the world....it beats cooking and I've cooked up a lot the past few days and there's lots of leftovers so we won't need much tonight.

Sleep well and have a wonderful day.

Sounds like where we live hundreds of German, Dutch and French tourists arrive for winter, the restaurants are always happy but this year they are wild camping! There are hundreds in RVs just parking on waste land, just wonder where they get rid of their waste, quite disgusting really.

I didn’t do anything yesterday after our walk, felt tired and backache, well I did cleaning and chopping of citrus fruit to make more marmalade, using all the last of the grapefruits, kumquats and oranges, should be an interesting taste, just having my tea in bed while simmering the fruit skins!

Not sure I like the second one but I can use it for a masculine card.

Jan, thanks for the reminder that it is Thursday tomorrow. I need to work on a challenge when I go home. I am spending the nights at my SIL's home. She is progrssing much more slowly than she wishes, after her hip replacement surgery. Due to complications, she will be non weight bearing on her right leg for 6-8 weeks, and it is only 6 days post op. Consequently, she can't even get herself meals. She can do personal care, like dressing and washing, but no shower until after the dressing comes off on Friday. I will be leaving when the community care coordinator comes at 11:30, so that they can set up some help for my SIL. I don't want them to think I am available all the time.

Ina I could post my challenge tomorrow if that would help you, I had it ready for April while I had an idea, it might be late as I have a few jobs in the morning.

Sorry to hear you SIL is making a slow recovery, she is lucky to have you near enough to help.

We had an interesting morning, had our walk and breakfast, went back to the car and the key wouldn’t turn more than enough to take the steering wheel lock off, unfortunately we were parked outside the Cafe, luckily our insurance pays for the Grau to collect the car and take it to your chosen garage for repair, half an hour later with an audience the driver had the car on the back and we were riding along in his cab.
Not sure how big a fix it will be, Dave our mechanic did t seem to worried but we are still waiting for his verdict, fingers crossed it’s not too big a job!

Thanks for your offer Jan. I have the challenge ready to go and 2 samples. So, you are good to go in April. And thank you so much.
About the car. I had that happen to me one, only I could not even unlock the steering wheel. I left the car and got a ride home, and the next morning when a friend went to check out the car, it started right away!

Ina we were sat on a bench waiting for the Grua and first I went and tried it and then Steve tried it, no go, the mechanic says it could be that the steering lock has unlocked but not quite slipped into place so stopping the key moving! We had a new barrel about ten years ago when the key just went round in circles, we are just pleased we were near home and not on a journey to the uk.

Looking forward to the new challenge! You are very organised seeing as you are so busy with your SIL.

I'm not going to look! I had an eye doc appt today too! Other than the floaters and flashers, the eyes look good. They're watching what they call a wrinkle in my right eye. But no changes to it. My pressure is 18 in both eyes, which is not too bad. Sometimes I run around 20-21. It is a normal pressure for me. She says I can use the allergy drops and come back in six months for another photo and visual field.

Ina I am glad you got the care people in to help! You need a break!

Kathy I am confused.. How will allergy drops help with all the symptoms you were having or am I confused again?

Jan.. You needed a new barrel I wonder if it is starting to slip? Had that with the old car... The beast we used to call it

Default S2S19F 'Sketch'

I am posting early, as mornings are a bit busy, getting my SIL ready for the day. I realize that SCS has a sketch challenge every Wednesday, but I thought I would also give you a sketvh challenge this week. I received a card from Carolyn Helder at a team meeting last month and I just loved the design of it, that I copied it and intend to do so many more times. I have not drawn out the sketch on paper, but the samples are pretty self explanatory. It's o.k. to change the shape of the circle to something else, but I would like you to keep an item on the edge of the circle (square or heart, or whatever).

Lynn, we did not get the care people in yet. Grace had to call the office today, to let them know she needs help. Physio came in today, and she is beat. But she actually ate a bit of chili this evening. Baby steps forward.

Lynn, I was using the allergydrops before the PVD but stopped until I could ask if it was OK to continue. My eyes itch a lot, besides all the other issues. So really not related to other issues.

Happy Thursday and Valentine's Day everyone. I hope your hearts are filled with love and joy today..every day.

Ina, if you ever need help, please ask. I have had lots of time on my hands this week. Put me down for another challenge...if you are able to list the free dates I can choose one.

I was going to do this week's sketch challenge so now I have two...thanks for the challenge.

Jan, hope you get your car fixed quickly and luckily you weren't far from home.

Lynn...not sure I'm brave enough to check out your post lol.

Enjoy your day. I'm heading to my craft room for a little while. We have decided not to go to the valentines concert as I would have to sit for too long.

Jayne your post just reminded me it’s Valentine’s Day, we were going out for lunch, not because it’s Valentine’s Day but now we won’t be going anywhere until we get our old boy back.

We have just watched a show on melanoma and an Aussie oncologist who is making great inroads with treatment. We have said should we get it, we shall go and see her....lets hope we don't. Remember slip, slop, slap wherever you live.

Jan, shame about your lunch. I'm on my second glass of wine and much preferring to be home than sitting in a low chair at the concert. I think I'm getting old..lol.

Jayne is the wine to numb the pain LOL!

Just got the old boy back and the car, ha,ha, so the tumbler where the key fits in had fallen apart completely, Dave says old age caused it, he’s such a good bloke, he spent yesterday afternoon taking it all apart and this morning fixing it all back together, all for €60, he is such a brilliant mechanic, he hates any problem to defeat him and it’s so hard to get parts for our Volvo now as it’s 18 years old this September but he’s found a supplier that can get parts, not Volvo but they fit, saved us a fortune.

My Valentine has spent all morning making an ikea CD rack and then cutting it into two pieces to make shelves for my craft room. We bought it about five years ago but it didnt fit in my space so it’s been in its box used as a shelf, now I have a shelf for my inks on my unit with the TH glass mat and another shelf on the other side that I’m still trying to figure out what to use it for, LOL

Jayne, I posted all available dates for challenge help in post #4 on the first page. Check it out and choose 1 or 2 or 3 or however many you would like. Thanks.
Jan, glad you got your car back. It's great to keep an older car, as long as it doesn't start costing too much in repairs. I am so thankful that my 14 year old Toyota is still running well. I need to take it through the car wash today, to wash all the salt off. They have been very generous with the salt and sand on the roads this past few weeks, due to the snows and freezing rains. I guess you don't have that problem in Spain, or in Australia either.

No salt on the roads here, only sand and dust, LOL

it’s been a lovely day and I’ve actually made a card for the challenge, a Christmas card but it just came together without debating for hours as I usually do!

I also made seven jars of marmalade this morning, Pink Grapefruit, Kumquat and Orange, to use all the citrus fruits up we had left on the small trees, will try some in yoghurt tonight to see what that concoction tastes like. I’ve already made Kumquat and a Pink Grapefruit marmalade.

Steve has been up to inspect how much I’ve managed to get on my new shelves, ha,ha, he knows me so well.
