Dear Sharon, I'm so sad you've had to go through all this! I hope you'll be soon crafting and enjoying scrapping again! What a challenge for a dedicated crafter like you! Lots of hugs, prayers and thoughts as you get back to a "new normal."

Thank you Gracie! So sweet of you. It has only been two months ago yesterday that I broke them,  but feels like forever! But has been easier than it would have been since I have all my supportive SCS friends, church, and DH! I never knew in all 53 years of married life he could be so kind, patient, gentle, and care giving as he has been! LOL. I owe him big time, and he has let me know that, too! LOL

Sharon I bet DH is looking forward to not doing the cooking, unless he is like Steve and actually enjoys it!

Sharon, Steve is very good when I’m ill, but then again I’m not ill often, Steve has many things going on but he’s not one to keep going on about it although I pull his leg and tell him he’s the only one allowed to be ill in our family

Jan, DH likes to grill out and make soups. We disagree on how to do some cooking. We tease each other now about now I can do it my way when I am doing it!

Sharon, I always light the log fire as Steve can’t kneel but he’s always interfering telling me I should put another log on etc, I tell him to get up and take over if he can do a better job, usually shuts him up for a while!

What a difference a day makes! When I went to bed my bedroom was 80f and when I woke up it was 67! Winter is back and the wind is howling!

Yup I still have the vertigo it will be a month on the 28. Interesting diet this is!

Lynn, sorry that you still have vertigo. Are the meds not working?

Sharon, can't wait for the scrapbook challenges. Sounds interesting. I hope to start my journal today. I've got an idea for the cover. I tea dyed some papers yesterday....I have coffee dyed ones already. Such fun. Can't wait to do the inserts and pockets.

Happy Friday everyone

Wow! Lots of catching up to do, as I have not been on line much this week, due to the vertogo. I was well enough today to drive into town and do the hymn sing at the nursing home. The driving was wicked! We are in the midst of a nasty winter storm. About 4 inches of snow yesterday, and it has been snowing most of the day today, but the problem is the blizzard winds. Snow drifts, icy spots and many near whiteouts. I'm so glad I only live 5 miles out of town. The forecast for tomorrow is more of the same.
On the crafting side of things ......... I have made 4 double dutch door fold cards. Now, I am working on an infinity card. They are so cool. I should upload my cards sometime too.
Sorry you still have vertigo Lynn. My head is still a little off, but I was able to drive, and eat, so I am happy about that.

One thing I thought I would mention. Just plain old soap is better than antibacterial gels and wipes. The wipes are good for wiping down items, like door knobs, shopping carts, etc., but as for hands, washing with soap is best, and do it frequently.

Kathy, check out the latest card I have uploaded into my gallery. I am working from my tablet, so cannot post a link. I finally used the magnolia bloom you sent for my birthday in July!

I have started my journal..yay. It is tiny. I’m following YouTube videos and a template from junk journal videos..she’s an Aussie lol. I don’t have fabric so had to use some burlap...not the best so I can see me heading to a fabric shop next week for off cuts.

I stamped the inside for a bit of a theme that I am going to run with. I will use this for my monthly journal when it’s finished.

Here is the process so far. I have my papers out and tomorrow hope to do the signature. Happy so far.

I cut my cereal box down, covered it with kraft paper and have just done the inside. Once the signature is in I will decorate the front cover and the pages and add pockets.

It’s so small but I love it lol

Great work Jayne, I love the inside, I’ve just put paper on the inside of mine, that’s as far as I’ve got!
how are you attaching the pages inside?

Our second blizzard day in a row. All the schools are closed. Last evening the main highway that goes through our town was closed by the police. My sister-in-law has already given me warning, that if her knee gets worse, she wants me to drive her to the Guelph hospital, as she got noo satisfaction at the Fergus hospital on Wednesday. That's 15 miles, usual travel time 17 minutes, today, it's 28 minutes.
It's the second last day of the month and I committed to making 5 Christmas cards each month. So I made all 5 this morning. All but one were made from a card kit in a UK card making magazine. The cardinal card was my own creation.

Ina, I think I have the same mag, the Robin looks familiar’!

Beautiful cards, I have some to upload too, I spent half an hour sorting my printer out, I couldn’t get the pink to print so I had to do a clean of the heads etc,

Thanks for the info re washing hands rather than wipes, it still shocks is me how many people don’t wash their hands after using the bathroom, it makes me want to tell off, disgusting.

Thanks ladies. I shall decorate the front later. I was going to do a mixed media effect on the front and back but have decided to keep it fairly easy this time and will put embossed metallic paper on and some cogs. I want a sort of cog, wheel effect flowing through and with a vintage feel...well I know what I mean lol. I kept a cool bag from our Typo shop and may put that in the middle. Going to stamp some of my tea and coffee dyed papers first with cogs and stuff and then find some papers in my stash. I have lots I can use. Hubby says it’s got a masculine feel to it but he’s not having it lol. I want it as a mini monthly scrapbook album come journal/diary.

Jan, once I’ve got all my papers together I will stitch them in as per the tutorial. I’ve bought myself an embroidery needle and some twine. I’m also putting a window envelope in that came in the junk mail lol. After it’s done then I will embellish the papers and add pockets. That’s the plan. I’ll add more photos as it progresses. I’m so enjoying making it even if it is tiny lol. Next one will be a travellers notebook one with just a normal spine. This faux spine is a cool effect though.

 Happy leap year weekend everyone

Good morning! The blizzards are over. The day has dawned clear, sinny and cold at -14 C degrees. I'm not sure my neighbour will have time to blow out the driveway, so I may have to shovel. He's got a big Optimist club trivia contest event today. I have not called Grace yet, but she did not call on me to drive her to the hospital, sI assume she has been able to cope.

Thanks Jayne. All but one of them were made with with pre printed papers and images. Pretty fast and easy to put together.
Just got home from the Canadian Legion Hall. My 2 nephews are in a band that was playing a fundraiser there. It's a country music band, but my, that new country sure is loud! I guess I'm aging myself her, but my daughter agreed with me.

Ina we pass a cafe in the mornings when we are out walking and they have loud music playing, not stuff you could sing to!, you know the sort you hear from passing cars Steve always comments that no wonder no one stops there, no way you could have a conversation it’s so loud, just boom, boom, boom.

I finished my first junk journal...whoohoo. I’m so happy with it. Here’s the font and back cover.

The papers inside are pretty cool. I had 13 pages in the one signature and made a couple of quick pockets. I can do a quick video and show them to you if anyone is interested lol.

I’m so happy with it. It still needs some tags and small embellishments for the pockets but they are for another day. Now I just need to keep practicing on bigger ones. The trickiest part was getting all the pages straight in the edges and sewing it in.

Thanks Jan. I will try. I thought a video might be easier and you can see the folds I’ve done and pockets on some pages. I will try tomorrow. I would love to make a larger one but will wait a few days before I start otherwise I will have journals coming out of my ears and need to scrap again lol.

Oh wow Jan your cover is awesome. I was going to do more texture and stuff but as this was a practice small one I went with quick lol..slack I know. Mine is tiny. I think it’s 3.5x5. It’s like a small notebook and the papers inside are A5 folded. I followed a tutorial on YouTube. I thought if I can do this one it would give me confidence to try a bigger one. The travellers notebook ones have a cover made with paper and no texture or embellishment as they go inside a leather Traveller notebook folder. It was fun learning something new.

Not sure what I will make this week...maybe some cards, scrapping..I will go with the mood lol.

Thanks Jayne, I really enjoyed getting messy, I’ve finished two pages for my journal from our Disney trip, two years ago, I struggle with scrapping, I think I put too much on a page!
Mine is about 8.5 x 5 roughly so I’ve only got two photos on the page so I will most likely have quite a few pages in it.
Your journal looks bigger on the photo, that’s cute being small, I love it, I’m even more impressed as it’s harder to make something precise when it’s tiny.

Oh Jan you know how to make a girl feel good lol. Hubby was impressed and he wouldn’t say unless he thought I had done ok.  I have made a video but it’s 14 mins long lol. I really don’t know if I want to post it on this site. I don’t mind people listening to me... not sure...lol. It’s probably too long. I could email it to people who want to see it. I may do it again and cut it down. It was tricky videoing and trying to go through the pages but I got there. Not sure what to do.

If it’s any consolation I always put too much stuff in everything I make lol.  It’s yours so don’t worry about it.  Do what makes you feel good.

I tried to see how I could get it on the site but I can only send it via various apps or email. I think I will have to email it to those people who would like to see it. Jan I have your email. I’ll try sending it to you first. Delete it when you’ve watched it lol. Grab a cuppa.

Thanks Jayne, I always have problems sending videos to family if they are long unless I can send it via iPhone messenger, anyway I will look out for it.

Well I have done videos until I’m over videos lol. They are either too long, too wonky..like my sewing on some of the pockets lol...and when I get it right they won’t send. So I’m stuck with videos chatting away to myself..well you ladies and others on this site, and no one can see it. Anyone know how I can load them up? Lynn will know I’m sure.

Happy day

Have you tried You-Tube? Or do you have to pay to use that mode?
