Not yet Kathy, but the mail does not come until late afternoon.
Jan, I got your gorgeous card yesterday. I love the open areas and the swing panel. Myy sister-in-law was also very impressed.
Jayne, I finally opened your card. I love it and all the goodies inside. It's been sitting on the shelf about 10 days, but seeing as it said July 16 on the outside of the envelope, I dated not open it until today.
Lynn, I loved your vintage style card. I used one of your hugs on a photo card this week. Thanks, everyone.

I just noticed my new avatar. I don't know why it is sideways. The original photo wasn't.

For those who don't live here. I complain about the humidity. Today it is 94% humidity and it is not raining. I have a feeling the clothes I put on the balcony to dry will NOT! Ugh

I can see the Neowise comet! I see it even better with binoculars! It won't be visible for another 6800 years so if you can, go look! It's under the ladle of the big Dipper!

Kathy, How awesome to have seen the comet. I guess we won’t be hanging around for the next one. I’ve been making cards...very quickly. I also spent most of the day sorting photos and being thrown out by my iPad...a very frustrating time.

Happy weekend everyone.

I looked Kathy but I couldn't see it. There are lots of trees around us. I spotted the big dipper but the mosquitoes were attacking me. I try with binoculars tonight.

Well we had clear skies last night and I couldn't find it. I'm glad I saw it when I did.

Yes, so happy for you that you got to see it! I looked 3 different nights, but I should have had binoculars. Oh well, it's always nice to be outside gazing at the night sky, anyway...until the mosquitoes start biting!

You might need to resize, Ina. Sometimes, if a picture isn't sized correctly it will show up sideways to fit the perameters.

Lynn, can you eat Zesty Italian Dressing? That's what I put on mine - in a bowl. I know it loses something without the bread but still crisp, fresh and enjoyable. I have a bowl of them in front of me now

HI girls, checking in

We had a downpour on Friday. Hadn't gotten any of the forecasted rain all week. I left the house on Friday for errands and was horrible to drive in. Not it's back to miserable hot again... and humid. yuck!

I've been cleaning most of the day. Need to switch gears after supper and get some cards made and a video done. Almost forgot about that one. That has to go up in the morning. Hmmm Good thing I know what the project is hehe

I just picked up today's mail! Wow! Two cards. Kathy, your card has arrived and it is beautiful. I love that greenery paper. Have not dug into my stash yet, but will this week.
And another card from Lynn! At first I thought, "Why is Lynn sending me two birthday cards?", but today's card was not a birthday card. It was a loving connection card. Very pretty, with that floral paper, and I love all the 'hugs'.
Thanks so much ladies! I am truly blessed with all my friends here in 'real life' and also all my crafting friends on-line.

My laptop is fixed. So Microsoft decided to rebrand internet explorer and is now calling it Microsoft edge. The change to about 3 reboots. I am usually using google chrome so I will let you know if this edge has changed anything.

Ina so glad you got it. That day I got crafty I made it and sent them out but forgot to take a picture. I am literally going crazy not being able to hug my son. So I thought I would send hugs out to the world!

Ina if you want to send me that pic I can resize it to 80*80 and send it back. Takes no time in Photoshop elements

Woohoo! Woohoo! I went to the barber shop. I spoke to the barber and he agreed to give me a quickie! I now have a little piglet tail!

Oh that doesn't sound right! OK I got a hair cut.

I started laughing when I read your post as I've never heard of getting a "piglet tail" from the barber! I'm glad it was just a haircut. I keep picturing you with a pig's tail. LOL

Lynn aren’t you still allowed to meet up with family?

We just had an email from BA, they have cancelled our flight to SF but not the one home, it was booked as a return flight so it’s all a bit ridiculous, they want us to take a credit note but Steve has read that if they cancel we are entitled to a refund, so that’s what we will ask for as we don’t know when we will ever be able to go if they won’t cover the virus on our travel insurance

So you all know that I am different!

Grumpy is a postie. He is out there in all of this every day. I am allergic to most of the antibiotics out there and my immune system ain't the greatest. So we are being extra careful. I don't think grumpy could handle it if he thought he gave me covid.

Toronto is still in stage 2. The number of covid cases in the under 39 age group are on the rise. I don't think we will be leaving stage 2 until the idiots stop having parties. Ina is in stage 3. Smaller and more rural. Actually the rest of the province is in stage 3.

Just saw on the news Montreal opened bars as part of stage 3 and now there are long lineup to get tested. Most of the bars that opened had breakouts.

Lynn I forgot about grumpys job, makes sense not to mix especially when you have health issues, our son said the same that he would be worried about coming over and bringing the virus and Steve catching it.
It’s on the rise here since they opened the borders, holidaymakers bringing it with them.

Delta Aquarids Peak: The Southern Delta Aquarid meteor shower is visible until August 23. But you should watch for this annual sky show to really ramp up starting late Monday and lasting through July 30. On peak nights just after the quarter moon, you may be able to see more than a dozen shooting stars an hour. Meteors will radiate from their namesake constellation Aquarius, along the low southern horizon. Your eyes are all that you need to catch the shooting stars as they zip across the skies. To maximize your chances of seeing an Aquarid meteor, face Aquarius, which will be rising low in the southeast after midnight. While the constellation itself may be too faint to spot, you’ll know you’re looking in the right direction thanks to the nearby bright star Fomalhaut, which hangs just below Aquarius. — Andrew Fazekas

Thanks, Lynn. I might need to take a drive out to my favorite look-out point and check this out.

I always say I'm going to do that then never do. This week my ability may be overruled by lack of sleep.

anyone besides be bracing for a winter round of this shut down?

I normally by 'stock up' items every week. For now I'm on 3-4 of each per week.

Unlike some folks, I buy a little each week. I don't think it's right to clear a shelf of stuff you probably won't eat anyway.

Ssaturday I need to defrost my freezer and reorganize. There have been some good meat sales. I'm going to start canning meat next week to open up freezer room for stuff I dont want to can.

My dehydrater and my pressure canner are getting a work out.
The garden is starting to produce. Items i want to dehydrate, I run the dehydrater at night so not to tax our power grid since AC units are running heavier during the day.

Right now I have tomato paste cooking down in the crock pot. One thing different from when I grew up learnign to can. I'm not standing over a hot stove in this heat stirring stuff all day long. Just toss in the crock pot and let it do it's thing.
