Hi, we are in the hotel, we were out for a walk but it’s tipping it down with rain so we had a sandwich and a coffee and came back to our room, had a good journey but wouldn’t you know the only sun we saw was while steve was driving, I got the fog!

Hey. I am finally getting better from the flu

Grumpy and sweet pea are home safe, they were not affected by the quake in the Caribbean

I just got a call. My temp hubby, Daryl's husband is in the hospital. Congestive heart failure. I was able to give the daughter in law some friends names to contact.

I think I'm confused by the last paragraph!

I'm sorry. My head is a mess.

Daryl Ann Akrey passed Jan 14 last year. I had been helping her husband for months before his son finally came. So Jim moved in with his son. Jim went into the hospital and I just had the call he has congestive heart failure. We are talking a day or two.

I’m back.  My MIL is staying with us before she goes on her cruise.  It’s been a busy week with lots of driving. We also had to attend a family funeral where there were over 300 people present. It was an opportunity for hubby to meet family members and obtain more info for his family tree.  It was like a family reunion.

I will finally be able to acquaint myself with my craft room after Tuesday.  Yay.

Happy February

My MIL is now on her cruise with her 2 sisters and BIL. They are going from here up to the Northern part of our State.  There's a cyclone forecast later this week and temps of 44 degrees so hopefully they will be ok and stay out on the ocean.  The ship won't take them if it's bad and will do a detour.

I am more worried for them about this coronavirus...it is spreading like wildfire and we will be debating whether to go to Europe in a few weeks or cancel and lose our money.  My sister and BIL are currently on a cruise in Asia and my nephew and fiancee are about to travel around Asia for 3 months.  We shall watch and see and take advice.  Our Govt has currently stopped all flights and anyone from China coming in.  A relative has today received advice that if they go to China later this month, as planned, they will not be allowed back into Oz or will be quarantined...eek.

On another topic.........what do you all do with all the cards that you receive from people on this site or friends?  I now have such a stash and don't know what to do with them as I love them all and don't want to throw them away.  I just don't know how I can keep them all as time goes on and I receive more.  I would be interested to hear what you all do with yours as you must have a lot more than I have and I have accumulated a lot in 2 years.

Happy day ladies and creating.

PS: Sorry if some see this post twice...I'm trying to save time LOL

Jayne this virus is very worrying, it’s the first time I’ve ever worried about a virus before but why they ever let anyone fly from China from when it first started Ill never know as they say there’s 400 people in England who have gone missing who flew from China!

I keep all family cards and handmade cards from friends, I have a drawer full now and if you find an answer I’d be happy to know as I couldn’t throw them away but I am running out of room for them, I did read once that someone cut the fronts off and saved them in a album but then Id end up with a mountain of books, LOL

So we have just had to change all our ferries, we’ve come over for five weeks to look after our GS while our DIL is doing a course at Uni, she’s decided she can’t cope with all the work so she’s decided to take a break, after only four months of a year course and start again next September!! We aren’t happy as we’ve spent about a thousand pounds on ferries to come over three times. We are staying for three weeks now we are here and next time we will still come over for three weeks instead of five as it’s GSs birthday,
To say we are annoyed is an understatement, we’ve really had to bite our tongues I can tell you.

I must say though we’ve had a lovely day with our GS as we took him out on his own, he’s  very well behaved and we had lots of fun so at least we get to see him again and spend time with him!! When we came back he was a shark and I had to pretend I was Spider-Man and catch him in my web, !!! The imagination of a three year old is amazing,  the game lasted over an hour so I feel shattered, he’s just gone to bed so I’m relaxing and having a quick catch up.

When we moved, downsized, LOL. I cur off fronts do drawers of cards, and gave to to our ladies ministries and they have used them to make cards,  they called recently and thanked me again.  I used to make kits for the , so when I left that church, those card fronts have really helped the. Keep up the card ministries.
Now, they are beginning to notice I make cards at this church, and have already asked me to teach a class.  Some day, anyway.
But, I think donating them to a church or even putting on new bases and donating them to groups request cards on SCS would be ok,Motorola.  I already have a drawer full again, but not ready to part with them yet. . The ones I had given away before, were from last 15 years!  I might another 15 years, before giving them away again!

Jan, I’m also concerned about this virus as you can tell from my comments. We also have some Chinese tourists who they can’t track down. It’s a worry.

Sorry your plans were changed. It must be annoying given the cost and time and when retired I don’t think people always understand. At least you are seeing your DGS and having fun.

Regarding cards, I like the suggestions made to cut off the card fronts and reuse them or the embellishments.  It’s sort of like regifting. A lot do give them to their church as Sharon suggests but we don’t go to church.  Bad woman I am I know.  I shall reuse them after 2 years and regift them to friends and family here. I already save all family cards and special ones and I have 2 boxes full..crazy.

I’ve just returned from our monthly craft morning and made 2 beautiful cards using SU product. Will post later.

Sharon, I’m going to plan a LO...whoohoo. At last

Jayne, your cards are gorgeous!
Jan, I am so sorry for the changes and the extra expenses. Some of the younger generation are so focused on themselves, they are oblivious to others' lives, schedules, comfort, etc. It is a blessing that you are able to spend time with your grandkids. I am thankful that my chilldren are aware of my needs/wishes and always consult me when they need my time and help.
As for cards, I also have a drawer + a shelf of cards. I have been getting rid of some lately, but I do save the pretty ones. Having said that, I only save the really pretty Christmas cards, and will eventually repurpose them. The idea to donate the fronts to a church or other organization is a good one.

Ina our son is upset with her as he knows how much it costs and that it’s  two days traveling each way, he is always grateful for our help, unfortunately our DIL is very self centred, she is never grateful for anything you do for her,
We had a amazon delivery yesterday and I had included a book for GS, he was excited to read the new book as it had dinosaurs in it but she said he was disappointed he thought it was going to be a real present!

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Books are the greatest and best presents one can get. I can certainly see, what you said about her character is true. It's tough on a marriage (and other relationships) when one of the partners feels 'entitled'

Hey sorry I missed so much!

I see the doc tomorrow. I have been feeling dizzy every time I move for the past few days. My right ear is weird.. Like a constant noise.. Like it is full..and I keep leaning to the left. Uuggh! I don't want this. Sweet pea is having migraines and grumpy has enough on his plate.

Sorry. Venting.

Big hugs!

Lynn, I empathize. My ears have been buzzing for more than a month now. Doc just says you can't do much for tinnitus. Its worse when there is silence. Background d noises help drown it out.

My uncle Don fell off a ladder yesterday and broke ribs and tore his aorta! He is 81 years old! Drove himself to the hospital. He's my dads only living sibling. Dad is the oldest of them, had the most health issues, but still hanging in there despite his many falls! Praising God he hasn't broken a bone!

Oh kathy, how lucky your uncle was not to be seriously injured, can’t believe he then drove himself to the hospital.

Kathy, a torn aorta is a very serious injury. Are they going to repair it surgically? He sounds like a tough guy, but like I said, this is serious. The aorta is the large blood vessel that comes from the heart, so if it starts leaking, it is not a good thing. I will pray for him.

Yes, Ina. Very serious. He was to have surgery this morning but I haven't heard how it went. I just can't believe he drove himself to the hospital but my cousin says he did that when he had a heart attack too. Stubborn man. He knew he shouldn't have been on the roof. That's why he waited until his daughter went to Walmart. Probably figured he'd get it done and the ladder put away before she got home and she wouldn't be the wiser.

Lynn I hope your inner ear issues clear up..Makes me nauseus just thinking about it.

Jan sorry to hear how unappreciative your DIL is.  Glad you are at least enjoying time with your grandson.  Books are the BEST presents.  I signed my great nephew up for Imagination Library so he gets a new book ever month.

Kathy have you heard how your uncle's surgery went?

Jayne beautiful cards.

Hello to Ina, Jayne, Kelly, Sharon and anyone else I missed.

Started over with a zero balance for 2020.  Added up my total for January and came up in the black.  We'll see 1) how long I can remember to keep track and 2) how long I stay in the black.

Think I am going to make this for the BF for Valentines.  Going to fill it with sugar cookies instead of a cupcake.
