I’ve written all the challenges down as I keep losing the thread, I’ve now got three pages on the go and my book card to do, I was in full swing when Steve shouted me to go around to our neighbours house as they have had a new sun canopy built in the garden, it’s really lovely, I’m trying to twist Steve’s arm to get a quote, lol

Twist Jan! Twist!

Still loopy. I have my son giggling at me. sweet pea has no idea what to do with me. Cat thinks I should read so she can social distance on my bed with me! Hmmm. Maybe I should do that! I found some cotton clothing at sale prices so maybe I deserve a beak! Lol

Kathy, thank you so much for the gorgeous poppy card. It came sometime this week, but I did not check the mail until today, so I can't tell exactly when it arrived. It is so lovely. I am going to CASE it!

I can't be the only one!

I wanted to use my Georgia peach scrub. I hop in the shower. Wash my hair. Put conditioner on...then I can't open the peach scrub! I mean really. I can't be the only one who has a hard time opening lotions and portions in the shower.

Stomping off in a huff! (Curlers bouncing in my hair)

I just realize that it is a long weekend here. It is Victoria day weekend. Typically this is the weekend when you can start all your planting and not worry about frost. It is also called the May 2-4 weekend as the 20 something s go out as get cases (24 bottles) of beer and party.

Next weekend is our long weekend, Memorial Day, to remember those who have died. Everyone puts flowers on the graves of loved ones.

Things are gradually opening here. Of course, most people don't honor the limits to the number of people gathered together. It's all or nothing. Some people act like it never happened. As my husband always says, "You can't fix stupid."

Gracie I went onto the English shop this morning, they give you gloves and spray the gloves but one man didn’t have a mask on, at our local supermarket they won’t let anyone in without a mask now.
We saw some people having coffee in a cafe the other day all sat together! Apparently we have no live cases in our town, they found nine in a homeless shelter who have had it and recovered. Our DIL just rang and told me about some American sailors who have been stuck abroad, they’ve been in isolation for two weeks on the boat all tested positive but with no symptoms but after two weeks have still tested positive.

Jan, that's interesting that they are testing positive. They aren't ill though? Very strange. They must have a strong immune system.

Jan, we have had a lady here who has tested positive for 7 weeks. She was sick, but has been well forvover 2 weeks and wants to go back to work, but can't until she has 2 negative tests in a row.
Things have started to open up a bit this weekend. Golf courses open, some parks open (no playgrounds), the walking trails are open. I just drove to the next county to say goodbye to some elderly friends (he's 90, she's 8 who are moving to New Brunswick with their son. With it being a warm, sunny day, we could talk at the door, me wearing a mask.
On my way home, I drove through a little village. It has 1 general store, 1 restaurant, and a boat launch. You would not believe all the people! Cars packed in on both sides of the only street. People all over the lawns, and a line up at the general store. I usually get an ice cream cone there, but not today.

Ina that’s a worry that the virus is lasting so long, they aren’t even sure if you can catch it twice, the frogman should came to do our pool told Steve he doesn’t believe it, he says that many people die every year of flu!
There’s a lot of stories about the governments are trying to control us, there’s been riots in Berlin about the lockdown and demos in London

Lynn, is this a picnic you had yesterday? If so, focus on good memories, how during this time of Covid-19, you got such joy out of your time together and how you cherish simple pleasures.

So far the weekend has been good here. Warm and sunny yesterday, and I got out to visit with my daughter outside, watched the 4 year old ride his bike without training wheels. What a treat. That boy seems to have no fear, as he rode down the hill in the little park and managed to scoot between a tree and a park bench, amazing a man sitting on a bench at the far side of the field. I must mention that it is quite a steep little hill.
With the slight easing of restrictions here, people, are taking full advantage, perhaps crossing the lines a bit too much. Our golf course had cars lined up along the road. I have never seen so many people out! I pray that people do not get careless.

Yes, Ina, I agree, it seems some people are just going all out and then, there are others who are overly concerned and paranoid. I wish everyone would just use common sense. Is there such a thing any more?

Great picnic page, Lynn.

Jan, hope the frogman got your pool fixed.

Gotta run, lots to do today.

Gracie he spent half an hour sticking them back on and he found a few more loose ones, he’s coming back when the water is warmer as the glue spreads better apparently.

We’ve just heard that may 25th they are opening hotels but you can’t travel out of your region, who do they think will go in them? Also restaurants can open inside areas but not fully and shopping centres can open but with 30% capacity, I might get to ikea as I need a new chair in my craft room.

Hi Jan, that makes sense about the glue. At least he got the most of the tiles fixed. I see some of the shopping malls have opened in U.S. but not too busy so far.

In our town and the port there wasn’t any shops open only the supermarkets but I’m hoping the stationers open as I need silicon glue and double sided tape.

Gracie, did you not hear? Common Sense passed away quite a number of years ago. There was an obituary on Facebook. You must have missed it.

Thank you for helping me to figure it out. The layout felt rigid. Not fun or frilly. But then again we are all bound by the rules and guidelines of the pandemic. so we all seem rigid. As I was watching Agatha Christie's Poirot it came to me. Like all those overtly posed pictures from a by-gone era we are precisely placed.

Not strange at all. One of our donors tested positive. Only symptom was slight cough for a couple of days. She was only tested because her husband was in ICU with COVID. That is the biggest way it is spreading. People who are positive but asymptomatic walking around like "normal" because they don't think they are sick.

All of your talk of going braless made me laugh. The BF and I gave the sheep their annual haircut yesterday. We are both a little stiff and sore but I have a huge bruise on my chest so going with out today. Not going to like having to wear one to go to work tomorrow.

77 of 99 counties opened a week ago Friday. The rest opened this past Friday. Everything still has limited #s of people allowed for social distancing and still on shortened hours. My BFF's daughter was a senior this year. They got her cap and gown a couple of weeks ago but didn't think she was going to get to go to graduation. With our county opening, the school gave each of the seniors an appointed time yesterday. In groups of 5, they let seniors in, let them walk across the stage and gave them their diplomas. Of course no family or spectators. The school video taped it and edited it to make it look like all of the graduates were going across the stage as they normally would.

Ina your four year old GS sounds like ours, yesterday when they rang he wanted to show me how he can jump down the stairs, he was four stairs up! No fear at all! Trouble is on the park he climbs to the top and then tells me to catch him, I’m not very tall and he’s way above my head, scares me to death, our son did warn me he just launches himself without warning! Our son said he’s worn out keeping up with him, he said I wasn’t like this was I Mum, I said oh yes!

Happy Tuesday. Lynn great page. Ina our golf course has reopened up but no presentations and social distancing and no handling of equipment other than your own clubs. We played Sunday and the car park was chockers but we hardly saw a soul. That’s the beauty of golf..you can have over 100 people out there and hardly see a soul. It was better than going to the shops lol. Everyone here is still social distancing and I am interested to see how the cafes and restaurants which reopened yesterday went.

I’ve always been told I have no common sense lol so the comments made me smile.

I’m not scared of going out now..I just don’t want to. I am enjoying this cozy time in my bubble at home and exercising with my DH. I feel I’ve finally found where I want to be in my life. As long as I have my social contact on here and can catch up occasionally with friends I’m a happy bunny. It just stresses me when my phone starts beeping and everyone wants my time...I want to crawl into a hole lol. Know what I mean anyone?

I do miss travelling and one day we will go again.

Have fun

Jayne we reached that stage a few years ago, decided to end a toxic friendship and now just meet up for breakfast occasionally with friends, no arrangements, they all know we walk early before it’s too hot, have breakfast, so they know where to find us, when other friends come over on holiday to their villas and fancy a catch up they just turn up at the cafe as most of them like to do the same, there’s only one couple from Manchester that we’ve known for years that we go out for meals with when they come over.
We are both happier now as we prefer each other’s company, no pressure to go out when we don’t want to, as our neighbour says, we always practice social distancing, LoL

Jan that’s us too I think. DH has jut said that I can’t be like this forever or I will become sad and lonely. I said but I have my online friends and probably 3/4 close friends I want to see now and again. He gets it but I think he’s worried I will be here all the time lol. Have a great day. Hugs everyone.

Jayne we got sick of friends wanting us to go out eating every lunchtime, neither of us can eat that much any more, Steve can’t get his breathe if he eats too much and he can’t walk far, they take the hump if you say no, we’ve found it better not to get involved
The friends we do meet up are more than happy to meet for breakfast and we have multiple cups of coffee and enjoy a laugh then we come home and do our daily jobs.

I finished my tiny one in a day I think...I did post it on the scrapping thread. I haven’t started another one yet but have to make one for a friend in due course. I find they take a while and I want to get on top of my scrapbooking first before I start another project. I haven’t even got back to my colour class yet. Not enough time in a day LOL.

I was going through mine the other day and decided it really is quite a masculine one with the cogs so will see if I can think of someone who would appreciate it.

Have you made any more?
