Oh me, oh my! That sounds like quite a storm Jayne. The last time we had winds that high, my neighbour lost 2 trees, one ending up on jy lawn. We've had strong winds this year, but none that hard. I hope you slerp tonight.
Lynn, I did go out to gaze at the moon last evening at 11. It looked like an ordinary full moon to me. It was nice and bright, with no clouds in the sky. I knew I would not see the moon this morning at 6:45, as it gets light long before that. The sun was shining brightly by 6:45. I'm sure that if I had walked out to the main road, I would have seen the moon, but it is cold out there! Wow! Snow forecast for tonight and also Saturday.

Default S2S20MAY 'Travel dreams'

Well, it's the first Thursday of the month. Time for a challenge. I was planning to follow up on last month's challenge (which was April showers) with 'Brings May flowers', but floral cards are so common, which makes them no challenge at all. Then I got inspired by Jayne's virtual vacation on facebook. So our challenge this month will be our dream vacation. Now I know there are some people who don't enjoy travel, or are unable to travel, so sitting under a tree at home, or in your easy chair reading a book, still counts. Cards/scrap pages, or other projects are all welcome. I don't have a sample. Too busy gardening, social distancing visits, and phone calling lately.
P.S. Jayne, I am really enjoying your trip to Spain on fb. Great photos.

Good morning! Great challenge, Ina! Hmmm.
Dark and cloudy here today. Back down to the 60s, and I had just put away all my sweaters and Winter clothes! Showers different times today, but hopefully no storms like Jayne had.
Jan, you two are always busy with projects! I remember the year you sat out and redid all the tiles on your walls in your garden! We moved and are renting because we are two old for all those projects.
Lynn, did you scrap any over the weekend? I have two different layouts going for the VSBN challenges.
Ina, have fun with your flowers, and digging around.

Jayne, hope you get a good night's sleep! I can't believe your MIL would say she preferred a store bought card! Silly lady! My mom does like the lovely verses in shop cards but she always adores my homemade ones. I'll have to go check out your new LO's. So much to read on SCS...I need to get off this computer!

Hello all!

Jayne Steve’s brother asked if we couldn’t afford to buy cards! Our neighbour also told me she doesn’t like homemade cards so I dug out so tiny ones I’ve had for years, bought ones, her face when she opened it was a picture,
I didn’t make cards when my mum was alive but I would always look for the verse rather than the picture as she always commented about what lovely verses I found, when she died she had kept one id sent her in her box.

I find it rude to tell anyone what type of card they should get me! If you don't like it, toss it. But keep rude comments to yourself!

I have a rule with grumpy. For my birthday I want a card.. I don't care what kind. I also don't care if he gets me anything, I would rather time together.

I have also gotten in the habit of sending him a list at the start of each month. Usually sent as a text it highlights all the important dates. Sweet pea has asked to be included...I think she organizes the calendar.

Me too Kathy. My Mil likes nice verses and roses so if it doesn’t have roses on the front, forget it. I don’t mind. I now know not to make her one.

Jan, when my mum died she had kept all the postcards I had sent her when I first visited Australia and Europe and the last birthday card I sent to her. I now keep the last card from our kids too as so many although I do have some from Hee they were little. I also keep the last one my family in the uk send to me..it’s like a tradition.

Jayne I have a whole drawer in my craft room of all the cards I’ve been sent from the family, also all the handmade cards I’ve been sent, I used to keep all cards but now I’ve just kept THE big birthday ones.

Our eldest never sent cards since he was a boy and Steve organised them, he always buys presents, his wife never sent cards but now we get one from our Grandson
Our youngest always sends cards and he always sends me cards for the American Mother’s Day and English, he says I’m lucky I have two!

I have a box full of cards, I tried to weed out some of them, but it's hard to toss any.

My mom and brothers save all the cards that I send to them! They love my homemade cards.

Our eldest son that always makes a big thing about my cards, he keeps them on his bedside table for months,I’ve seen them when we’ve been over still there and he always comments so I know he looked at them thoroughly.

That sounds interesting, Jan. You'll have to post photos when you're done. I'm off to get messy in the craft room.

Oh no! Not May snow! Pretty but Yuck! I always hated snow in spring! Bleccckkk!

Sharon, most of my scrapbook material is back in Wisconsin. We are in Arizona until the end of May, waiting for things to start to open back there.

Happy Mother's Day tomorrow! Hugs

Oh right I came to tell you something. OK so the Canadian postal system is overwhelmed. They are processing the same amount of stuff as for Christmas or black Friday but with only spring staff. Then you add to that the people who get sick..well they need to shut down and clean..plus the person is in quarantine for 14 days. There are no outside people coming in to help.

So if you are sending within country it will eventually get there. I don't think they are processing stuff out of country.

I sort of figured that. I mailed a parcel of 10 photo cards to my friend in Kitchener (a 1 hour drive) on April 23 and it has not arrived yet. I should have driven there and dropped it on their front step.

An elder from our church dropped off a flowering kalanchoe plant this morning. For Mother's day. Very cheery.

Happy Mothers ' Day to all. Glad you got to celebrate yesterday Lynn.
I'm looking forward to finding out if our weatherman is wrong today. I don't want sleet, snow and cold.

So, Lynn. How long did you hang out in the zoom gathering? I got a phone call and had to leave around 8:30. Plus I had an earache.

This is ridiculous. On Saturday, we had a bit of snow, but it melted away as soon as the sun hit it. This morning there is more than an inch on the ground and it is still coming down. I didn't even get out of bed to take this photo.
