Lynn, in response to your statement, to make the kids dig. The 2 youngest ones did 'help' me dig, and pick up stones. The oldest one was helping his dad. They are still in the moving mode.
Today is a gorgeous day here. It's sunny and may get up to 19°C this afternoon. Outside time after 'church'.

Oh Ina I was just teasing. My son used to love to play in the dirt. I would get him to help dig first in the hopes he would not dig everything up AFTER we planted.

Lynn our youngest loved to get dirty, always had a dirt moustache, eldest couldn’t bear to have hand dirty or sticky hands.

We grew a few veg in our little garden. Grumpy would be out there eating the produce right off the vine!

Well Kathy I am "relieved" that the store is closed today. Lol

Actually it will be beautiful and I envy Ina her time in the garden. I think I will see if the kids want to meet for ice cream in the park.

Enjoy your day!

Ina, I love gardens and fresh fruit and vegetables, but I do not have a green thumb. I love strawberries. I used to pick them at a huge strawberry farm to earn money when I was a youngster. pick...eat...pick...eat

Lynn, that's sounds great: kids, ice cream and the park!

Hi Jan, I'm always amazed when people tell me that they can "hold" their water so long and avoid using public bathrooms. I wish I could. One of my friends refuses to use airplane toilets and has flown 9 hours to Hawaii several times! I'm amazed.

OK.. So that was interesting! I figure since it will be at least 19c outside I would organize the balcony. I took the two little tables to the shower to wash them. They don't look any cleaner but I did manage st spray water everywhere!! Lol I put the little tables on the balcony to dry and got hit with the smell of my neighbors smoking pot! Uugghh why do I bother

Gracie, airplane toilets are the only time I use strange toilets as we have 11 hours flight from London to SF, Steve stands outside the door as I’m claustrophobic and don’t like to lock the door, he has everyone telling there is another toilet available and he has to say he’s waiting for me, LOL

Jan, that's sweet of Steve to stand guard for you! Airplane toilets are soooo tiny that I can't believe some people can even fit in them. LOL

Happy Monday....I’m figuring out what I want to do. It was food shopping day and the heavens opened just as I got in my car. A storm is coming later. No wonder I’m in a mood today LOL. Have fun....I need a craft or something fix......and I don’t like to smoke but I must confess I do like the smell....LOL

This week we can only walk in our area, although because we are on an Urbanización we can walk any time unlike towns where there are more people, they have a set time, next week we can go out on the car, together! They are opening more shops next week so we can start moving out of our area, no restaurants can open unless take away, I won’t be eating or drinking anywhere anytime soon, hairdressers can open but I will wait in case it starts getting worse as I worry about the spanish keeping their distance,

Jayne I hate the smell of cigarette smoke, the spanish are big smokers, now they can’t smoke inside they ruin every outside space as they smoke at the tables when you are eating, we very often move tables if the wind blows it our way.
Steve tells our Spanish friends that smoke, fumar mata , smoking kills, LOL, makes me laugh as he was a smoker until he was 27 and I used to nag him to stop, it wasn’t until I told him if he stopped we could save for a car! He gave up overnight, never smoked since

Jan, smoking is banned in most inside public places but like you say, they just go outside to smoke which isn't good for outdoor restaurants. My DH said he was going to quit on the day he retired and he did. If it was that easy, why not quit earlier! LOL

Jayne, I hope you had a good day. You're probably in bed by now. Sending hugs!

I did .. done..done it!...oh did I say I am a mess... yup starting the time shift process.\

ok. so I knew I was going on a road trip and there were no pit stops available so I prepared!

did I tell you the story. I had my son via c-section and was sent home from the hospital after some complications. I get home.. hubby steps into the tub for a shower and it sinks.. anyways.. just home from the hospital.. new baby.. c-section.. and I have to go to the bathroom in a bucket in a garage! So if you don't have a pot to piss in you bring one with you.
ok I got up to the store in record time since there is light traffic on the roads and got my goodies

got back in the car and went home..then ran to the bathroom! woohoo! Mission accomplished

Yes I love the paper. In 3 weeks when I come back to days I hope to play!

Oh I was married for 16 years. It was a bad marriage. Enough said

Oh if you don't know. I have insomnia. A good sleep averages 4.5 hours on medication. I get used to the medication that let's me be on days. I get less and less sleep. I go quite wacky. I need to change to a different med or else I won't sleep. As in no sleep at all. After 5-6 days of no sleep it becomes a serious medical issue. OK so you may not hear from me for a few days.

Oh my, that sounds awful. I can't imagine not being able to sleep. I have occasional nights but nothing like that.
Lynn, I hope you find some new medicine that works better for you!

Jan, when we travel to countries where smoking is rife, particularly in Europe, we do not like it. I smoked for about a year many many years ago and DH has never smoked. I grew up in a home where my parents smoked a lot and it ended my fathers life way too young...and I think contributed to my mum's early death.

When we were in Paris a few years ago we went to a local restaurant and asked if we could have a non smoking table outside as it was a warm evening. The waiter looked at me as though I was an alien and said "madame, you are in Paris, we smoke". So we sat indoors LOL.

Here they changed the rules a few years ago that smoking was not allowed in restaurants or cafes and pubs have to have a designated area away from non smokers. Even companies have to have an area designated for smokers and away from the main building. You don't see many people smoking these days.

I remember when I first came to Australia when I was 19 and people were smoking on the planes....gosh that seems a lifetime ago now. I am glad smoking is not allowed in public places. I think our young people here are also now seeing that it's not good for you.

Lynn, some of us have had one of those too....enough said

I need my sleep or I am grumpy.  We slept in until 9.30am today and I've done the housework and am ready to play in my craft room now.

Jayne we went to Greece years ago and the back of the plane was for smokers, can’t believe it now, one man sat next to us and his wife sat in the smoking section, they kept changing seats all the way back, the smell of cigarettes made us feel sick, I don’t think smokers realise that they smell of smoke all the time, breathe, clothes. I told steve once he smelt like an ashtray, he’s wasn’t amused, LOL

We were awake at six, not sure why, but it is hot now. Just waled 4897 steps, unfortunately all that was undone as I’ve just had a bacon cob for breakfast, ha,ha
We have some cola blanca so I will be able to finish laying the last two tiles later. Our vanity unit is fixed but we decided, well the men decided to leave the drawers out until tomorrow to make sure it isn’t leaking, it will be good to see it with the drawers in, we’ve had it nine weeks!

Jan well done on your steps. I haven’t even done 2k today. All I have done is clean downstairs and walk up to my craft room but yesterday I got a lot of steps in. I’m going to try and do a walking video in a minute to top them up. My foot is about ready to venture out again. We were going to walk earlier but the storm is coming. It was supposed to arrive yesterday but didn’t and gosh it’s blowing at present. We have had to pull our outdoor furniture in and take the cushions off.  Even the bins get blown down the road LOL. I’ve just finished scrapping one page and will load it up now.

Yum to a bacon buttie.....gosh it’s been a while since I had one of those. I was telling DH the other day about when I had one of my first jobs as a Secretary in the UK, I used to go to the local cafe and have a bacon and egg buttie or a sausage and tomato one...oh my. Is it dinner time yet lol?

Good to hear that your vanity cupboard will finally be finished. You guys are amazing. We would never attempt to lay tiles or do maintenance work. Son1 does at his house and he’s built walls, decks and all kinds of outdoor seating areas. Looks fantastic. We just get on the phone and call an expert LOL. Fortunately we don’t need much done as this house is less than 10 years old. We do need a tiler though at some stage as a few cracks have appeared in our shower. We used to say that when a home got to 10 years and started to need TLC it was time to move LOL. Next job will be the whole house painted. Gosh there’s me saying it doesn’t need much attention and when I think about it, it does LOL.

Jayne.. The bathroom incident

House was built in 1950s. Did not know that water was getting through cracks. Going down the back of the tiles. Soaking the wood beam that was holding up the bathtub. The wood beam did not fail the bathtub sank.

Your place is a newer build so I don't know if the same situation could occur

Thanks Lynn. Yep we discussed that. It’s in an outside wall and a hairline crack but it does need fixing. We checked the outside wall and that’s ok. It’s in our to do list. We did phone the tile guy before Xmas but he said he was busy and wasn’t taking any more jobs in u til February. Well then the virus was out and we did nothing about it. Luckily ours is a huge double shower so we use the other end for now. Thanks for the tip though. I can imagine us sinking into the ground lol.

Now what will my day bring..mmmm..let me think what I will do today..lol

Kathy

Super Flower Moon: Look for a stunning full moon to rise tonight in the east and dominate the overnight hours. The May full moon is traditionally known as the flower moon, due to all the blooming flowers this time of year across the Northern Hemisphere. This silvery orb is a bit more special because the official full phase arrives at 6:45 a.m. ET on Thursday%u2014just as the moon's egg-shaped orbit brings it especially close to Earth, delivering a supermoon. This means the full lunar disk will be slightly bigger and brighter than the average full moon. As an added stargazing treat, set your alarm early on Tuesday to see the waning gibbous moon pay a visit to bright Jupiter during your local dawn in the southern sky. %u2014 Andrew Fazekas

Kathy, the rain has stopped here after 2 days...gosh what a storm we had. It is so lovely to see blue skies even if there are clouds. Not sure how much rain we had but there has been a lot of damaged with roofs blown off and fences down. We had wind gusts up to 120km. I slept through it all on Tuesday night as I was so tired but last night...gosh I must have been awake for hours. I’m sure I will sleep tonight.

Lynn, did you get any scrapping done? I have posted 2 challenges on the scrapbook thread if anyone is interested. Lots of challenges this month. I finished another LO yesterday.

Gracie, how is your ankle and injuries? My foot is just about ok now. I can walk and just feel a slight twinge depending on how far I walk. I’m just glad it’s ok. We are going to try and play 9 holes of golf on Mothers Day. It is forecast to be a lovely day. I didn’t know it was Mothers Day until DIL1 asked me what I wanted as a pressie. I’ve forgotten to send my MIL a card so a phone call will have to do this year as the mail will take 10 days to get to her from here. It usually takes a week in any case and we live in the same State LOL. She doesn’t like homemade cards so I always have to buy her one. She once told me that my card was pretty but she prefers one from the shop as I choose a pretty one with a nice verse....LOL. That put an end to me sending her a homemade card.

Well I must post my LO I made yesterday.

Waving to you all. Keep well
