HCE02 - Squares, Scallops and Sentiments (12/21/08)
Good morning, everyone! :-D Im honored that Taylor asked me if Id be willing to host a Holiday Challenge. I was more than happy to help her out.
As I was trying to think of what to do for this challenge, I browsed through my SCS gallery, trying to get ideas from the cards Ive made in the past. I kept being drawn to one of my favorite cards, so I decided to turn it into a Limited Supply Challenge for today.
For this challenge, your card must meet the following criteria:
It must be a square card. So long it has four sides of equal length, the size doesnt matter.
It must have scallops on it.
It must have a sentiment on the front, and the sentiment must have 3 or more words in it. Lets see those longer sentiments put to use.
It must have ribbon as an embellishment.
It must not have glitter on it. Rhinestones, PearlEx, shimmery embossing powder, etc. are OK if you feel the need for shine, but glitter and Stickles are not.
Stamps, themes, colors, and other embellishments are up to you!
Please use the keyword
HCE02 when you upload your card so it will appear in the gallery set up for this challenge. Remember the keyword is without spaces. Use a comma between keywords, with a space after each comma.
Im looking forward to seeing your creation(s)!
Here is my card:

I have to admit, I was wondering how long it would be before somebody said something about the no glitter requirement! LOL

Here is my take on the challenge-
HCE02 Gift Card by daycaremom1999 at Splitcoaststampers
This little square gift card/tag will sit on top of a present wrapped in paper that is light blue with white stars and swirls, for my niece. It's so cute I want to keep it!

Happy Birthday Peacock
I really enjoyed this so much. A perfect easy challenge for Sunday, and a card I need soon for my sister. Thank you
. I don't have a lot of sentiments with more than 3 words, but I did find a couple when I looked.

Hmmm that's a lotta rules. I don't do well with rules.
I'm hoping to get this started after I scan the santa pic and get them into the Christmas cards:shock: Yes they still haven't gotten out.

This was a great challenge. I don't make a lot of square cards, so I had to think a little out of my comfort zone. I used my new Flourishes roses for my card --
Roses for Your Birthday .

I'm continuing with my personal theme of simplicity for this challenge and combined it with the featured stamper challenge as well. Here's

So, how's everybody doing?
Having fun, I hope?
I really enjoyed looking at some of the uploads earlier this afternoon. My internet connection has been kinda shaky for some reason, so I took a break and made a gift card holder that fit both this challenge and yesterday's HCE01 challenge. Here it is:
Snowflakes gift card holder
I need to get supper going now, but when my family is done with that, I'll come back and see what everyone else has been creating.

Geez, there always has to be a complainer trying to make trouble in every bunch.
;) Just teasin' ya, V!
Hey, if it makes you feel any better, I mailed out a bunch of Christmas cards just yesterday. So you're not very far behind me.
