Vickster - at the bottom of the weekly newsletter it tells you what you will need for the following week's tutorial so tomorrow's tutorial involves watercolor powder in some way.

Kathy - I just had a thought, don't know if it will work but, depending on how they are using the watercolor powder, what about sanding watercolor pencil and spritzing with water as a substitute?

Good morning, everyone.

Pat, you are so welcome! Stonehenge AND Wales? YES!

I donít have watercolor powder either, but that idea of shavings from pencils is a terrific idea, Catherine! I have to look at the newsletter. I used to get the newsletter, but like the notifications, it just stopped, I donít know why.

Iím not sure what colors to spray on my black box. I thought about it several times during the night. Thereís so much raised detail in the hair, Iím just not sure. Iím thinking about that Metallic Lustre wax dissolved in water and spritzing it copper.... but I have blues, greens, browns also, all in metallic, it has to be something that will look good with the black in the detail. Any ideas for me? Now I wish Iíd done the different color of clay, but the instructions were for black.

I knew I could make watercolor powders with watercolor pencil shavings but it never dawned on me to do that! Catherine, you are awesome! My BG is drying now!

How about sharpening the pencils to get the shavings? I've often thought about using what I shave off when sharpening my pencils & crayons.

Ann,

I seriously feel your pain! (And now, I guess I understand DH's behavior back when I snored!) Anyway, it used to make me mad, but it certainly made me aware I had a problem when he woke me every time I snored and woke him. Have you tried doing that? I know as women, we're raised to be considerate and "nice", but sometimes nice doesn't do the job.

This is funny...I was watching YouTube yesterday and found that androids have a secret game hidden in them! Just played the marshmallow game! You go into settings and choose about tablet. Then quickly tap several times on Android version. A large circle pops up and tap on it and then a marshmallow pops up. Touch and hold until the game appears. If you have android jellybean, the game is tossing jellybeans! Its the secret games not many know about!

Good morning!

Kathy - your card is so pretty, I like the soft colors. Lovely! I'm glad the idea worked.

Ann - I'm glad you get to enjoy a Jack day, sorry for the lack of sleep. I agree with Pat's idea. Wake him up every time his snoring disturbs your sleep. Fortunately for my DH, I sleep like the dead. But, there are those times when I struggle to sleep and his snoring bothers me. He, himself, told me to tap him when his snoring bothers my sleep. Thankfully, for him, it isn't often but it does quiet his snoring so that I can get back to sleep.

I hope you are enjoying a lovely day. It is a beautiful rainy day today. While I was at the kitchen window, I was watching the leaves bounce as the rain drops fell on them. It made me think of a symphony of rain. So pretty!

On the subject of marshmallows- I just saw that Panera Bread has chocolate chip marshmallows with their hot chocolate! I'm intrigued.

I am wrestling with a commissioned card for a pilot in the Navy getting his wings. I've had this idea for the card for months. I thought "easy peasey", and then got stuck with technology not cooperating. Argh! It's a printing and die cutting and foiling issue. I've had to revamp. The card will still be good, it just won't be the one I envisioned.

Pat - your comment about marshmallows reminds me of what DH, DD2, and I tried last night. The mission trip that DD1 is on is being led by a school staff member who is a native of Canada. On their itinerary for the trip, she had something about Tim Tam Slams. Of course, I had to google that and found that it is an Australian cookie, or biscuit. You might already be acquainted with Tim Tams, but it is a sandwich cookie that is covered with a coat of chocolate. The slam part comes in when you have hot chocolate, you bite off diagonal corners of the cookie and then try to use it as a straw sucking the hot chocolate into the cookie. When it becomes soft in your hand, you "slam" it into your mouth. I found that I could purchase them at WalMart so I got some for us to try at home. DD2 LOVED it! We all did, but she really loved it. It is quite tasty, I must say.

Catherine, never heard of those cookies! Sounds intriguing!

Dani, is this your mom that is in the hospital or is she Dawn's mother?

Yes, I am resorting to waking him up, but then he is grumbling, I don't snore, I never hear myself!! His idea of humor!

Hi ladies! I wasn't home yesterday, so taking a look at all the chatter I've been missing.
Will add special prayers for you along with my general.
I spent most of my day yesterday in the ER for my DD. I had taken her to the Veterans Adm in Orlando for an appointment with a physical therapist at 1:00pm. By the time we arrived DD's headache had escalated to extreme! She was so bad the doctor actually wheeled her to the ER. Turned out to be a migraine - her first. CT was clear. I'm just glad we were at the VA for the ER access.

I've seen Tim Tams at World Market, but not bought any.

I've just been advised by Mr. Wonderful that his wonderful (bad words under breath) computerized recording system is down and we are not recording Survivor. Watch it live, you say? Not with his @#$%^& system. We cannot turn on and watch broadcast TV. I am steaming. Really and truly steaming. Why we can't have a normal system instead of this thing he has built, I will never know. (More bad words, VERY bad words.......)

Ann - here is a link to the ones I got at WalMart. They are quite tasty, it was fun.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Arnott-s-...3=5136&veh=sem

Kathy - how nice to be missed! I hope this means Little Man is well now.

Pat - I hate it when that happens! For how long have you not gotten it? Is it in time that you can watch the missed episodes online at cbs.com?

Joyce Ann - I'm sorry your DD had a migraine. Thankfully, I haven't had migraines, my mom did suffer from them. But hers went away when she retired. Interesting....

Catherine-

Just tonight's show. So I have to wait until they release it online, maybe a week? That's how it used to be anyway.

DH loves his McVittie's digestive biscuits, dark chocolate. I had bought a bunch of the milk chocolate ones really cheap, and he wouldn't eat them. Sheesh!

Who likes Biscoffs??? I remember when you could only get them on Delta Airline flights. On our honeymoon, I asked the flight attendant if we could have some extra, and she brought me a barf bag stuffed full and taped shut. DH was thrilled, until we opened the bag and it was only half Biscoffs, and half Baileys!!! (Then I was thrilled!) Shoot, you can buy them everywhere now- grocery store, Walgreens, World Market....

I just mixed up a big batch of brine, and put boneless turkey breast, a BIG whole chicken, and an eye of round roast to marinate in the fridge. I'm going to run the smoker. First time for the eye round. I'm hoping it makes some nice roast beef for sandwiches.

Really, I have to get some stuff eaten up & out of that fridge! It's like a jigsaw puzzle, fitting things in. The freezer downstairs is almost as bad.

Oh, due to enabling RIGHT HERE on this thread, I went into Hobby Lobby for the first time in ages. I got one house mouse stamp for $2.75, a Season's Greetings stamp for $2.75, a set of clear stamps & dies for $4, a journal for $2.50, 2 sets of envelope liners (I just liked the paper) for $1.25 each, and 2 gorgeous long scarves for $2.50 each. Why I needed BOTH of them (they're the same) I don't know, but I couldn't leave the second one. I had a talk with one of the men moving things and rearranging, and he says they are consolidating papercrafts in a more easy to shop arrangement, and expanding the baking stuff. He says papercrafting will just be tighter and better organized, it's NOT going away.

DH had a good thought. He said maybe each store is working on the law of supply and demand, what sells they keep, what doesn’t sell they get rid of. Hmmm.

Night again!

Pat - I don't know about Survivor but other CBS shows are usually released on their website the same night it is broadcast.

Sweet dreams, Kandie!

Pat - I just saw digestive biscuits yesterday when I was looking for the Tim Tams. I had never heard of them before.

With regard to HL, I also got the story that paper crafting wasn't being eliminated but that they were expanding their party supply section. I guess time will tell and it could very well be that each location will be handled differently due to what sells locally. That would make business sense.

Kathy - I understand about being overwhelmed at the store. I have had that exact experience at HL and at our former stamping shop that, sadly, went out of business.

Good morning, itís a beautiful day out, sunshine everywhere. Itís also very cold!

Two men arrested outside a local Walmart for acting suspicious. Turned out they had on bullet-proof vests and had guns in their car. I canít figure it out. How does a Walmart get robbed? There are so many cashiers, so many departments? Itís such a huge store.

I still havenít done anything on the clay-covered tin box. I have gotten into a flurry of organizing and have piles of craft stuff everywhere! Trying to talk DH into putting shelves on a wall in the spare and extremely tiny room so I can put various hobbies in their own containers and put on the shelves and just get them out when needed.

DD2 bought herself a brand new car. Sheís 41 and on VA assistance. Iím worried about if she can make the payments. But DH said donít worry, the moment her money hits her bank the car payment will be deducted. Itís up to her to learn how to manage whatís left. It is a BEAUTIFUL car! She is thrilled and drove all day yesterday just because she could, even going 100 miles away for lunch and then driving around till time to pick up her daughter from school, lol. They were still driving around when they stopped by, because DD2 wanted to see what the car looks like at night when all its lights are in!

Oops, have to follow DH to the car repair place to drop off his truck for spring servicing. Maybe I can talk him into going out for breakfast !! Be back soon!

Good morning! It is a beautiful day here as well, filled with liquid sunshine. It is hard to believe that today is my 31st wedding anniversary. It seems like only yesterday! I am working on my E card, it is my anniversary card for DH. He wouldn't go to bed last night so I didn't get it finished!

A family friend transported us from the wedding location to the wedding reception in his vintage vehicle - it was so much fun - people waved and honked their horns etc. Here is a photo of us with the car.

Kandie - I hope you get to go out to breakfast...and get the shelves!

Good morning Ann and Annette! Off to work....
