I should have mentioned that I was happy to find the gloves to make the snowmen at Dollar Tree - two pairs for $1! And now DD2 has fingerless gloves for when it is cold in her room.

I think I have just finished the final tutorial for Falliday. I might put a sentiment on it, not sure yet.

Kathy, I used to hide in the dark hallway and jump out and scare my daughters. DD1 fell for it more often than DD2. I was highly amused, good thing they still love me.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who sometimes supplies the rest of the conversation for a family member.

How convenient for Steve, Jan, lol!

Jan, I don't work full time so that helps. And then I'm crafting (or reading) when I should be sleeping, there is that. Priorities, right?

Oh, I should let you all know that my brother's eye surgery went well. Hopefully that is the last business he gives the doctors for a while!

So sorry to hear about your sis in law, Ann. Just prayed for her.

Dagmar, I just printed off your clay pot tips. I have one that I bought a long time ago, and have never used it (Yet!).....

Haven't caught up with the chatter, but came on when I saw Ann's post.

Back later,

There is a tutorial where you print out a template of gingerbread houses and decorate them. Perhaps that is the one you are thinking of?

I’m going to buy plant pots and succulents this morning, I’ve been watching YouTube on how to make a succulent garden in a pot, now the steps are done and the cracked marble was fixed yesterday it’s  looking good.

So yesterday we arrived at the bakery and a young man we know was first in line for coffee, he owns a small shop along the way, anyway when she saw me she started to serve me first, I said no it’s ok but she told him that we go everyday! I apologise to him but he said it was fine and to enjoy our breakfast, I was so embarrassed, she also put a slice of lemon cake she had just baked in our package for us to try!

she will be happy as it looks as if they are extending the shutdown of restaurants for at least two more weeks as the cases hasn’t dropped enough, only two yesterday!! also the regional borders are staying closed until December 8th as it’s a fiesta on December 7th, to stop them flooding to the coast for the holiday.

Stolen from facebook, with a little alteration.

Y’all I need some advice.

I got into an argument with my husband because he gave me $500 to buy a new Christmas tree and decorations. He said whatever was leftover, I could keep and buy more craft supplies.

He's mad at me now because he doesn't like the tree I picked out!!!  Men!! What should I do?? I have already spent the leftover money.

A picture of the tree is attached.

Yep, Melody, that is what we would do! LOL

Ann, so sorry that your sister in law tested positive.  I hope an pray all will go well for her.

DH and I almost live in a bubble. I talked to a couple, neighbors in our loop, yesterday.  They had just gotten out of their car.  I teased them about being out gallivanting.  The husband said once a day they and their little doggy, just get in their car and just drive around for 20 minutes.
A sad comment on today’s world!
We get a prayer request letter from our church and although our members are mostly ok, a lot of different ones family members that don’t live with them or even in this city, have the virus or are in the hospital with it.

VSN mini, tonight.  Have a great day.

Morning!

Melody, I was giggling so much when I saw the picture of the tree!!  So funny!!  It's a Charlie Brown tree!  LOL!  You made my day!

My SIL has a fever and I don't know much more then that.  Texted her but no reply.
Please keep her in your prayers, her name is Kathy.

I need to get wash done and dishwasher this morning before I even look at any challenges.

Reminder: NO challenge next week for the Alpha's. Everyone gets a chance to get caught up!

Melody, I showed that to my DH yesterday and he agreed that it was definitely true for us crafters! LOL If he gave me money for groceries, I'd buy peanut butter and bread and the rest would go for crafts!

Ann, I'll continue to keep Kathy in my prayers.

Wow, just finished Falliday Fest and now onto Mini VSN!

Good morning! We have sunshine again this morning. I have to take the new to us car to get it smogged today so I can finish the transfer paperwork into our name. DD1 is doing great at driving him. She has named him Bingley from Jane Austen. DD2 said she is going to call him Mr. Bingley. DD1's names for cars are generally from literature of some sort.

Jan, I hope you share photos of your succulent garden when you get it done. I would be embarrassed at the bakery with that as well.

Oh my goodness, Melody, that was too funny...and true!

I agree, Sharon, that is a sad commentary on our world today. And it wouldn't satisfy my DH, he needs interaction with other people - other than the three of us who live with him. Every once in a while I'll hear of someone who has the virus, or has passed away due to the virus, I definitely know more people who are battling cancer and other health issues though.

Ann, definitely praying for your SIL and now I'll pray by name. Thanks for the reminder about no challenge next week, that does give me time to do my girly card.

Congrats, Gracie, on finishing Falliday. I just finished last night too - everything but the commenting.

I'm attaching three photos. Two are of a gorgeous tree in the parking lot where I work. Yesterday, with the sun on it, it was just beautiful and the sky was so blue. These photos are unedited. The other is still hanging around in our neighborhood (at the same house who has the headless horseman). I've meant to take a photo for a while and yesterday I didn't have anyone behind me so I pulled over on my way home to take it.

Catherine, gorgeous fall trees! Poor lineworker! LOL When we lived in our former home in Wisconsin, we had a red maple outside the bathroom window. When you looked down the hallway, it just glowed so brilliantly when the sun shined on the tree. It looked like the hall was on fire!

Catherine beautiful tree, the colour is so vivid.
I love the name for the car, we always named our cars, it’s usually a name that rhymes with the make, our first car was Freddie Fiat! although we were talking it at work once and one girl thought I was totally mad, it started when the boys were really young and we just carried it on, our youngest has a mustang so we call her Sally after the song, he doesn’t though ha,ha

Melody that is so funny, that’s about the size steve likes as he hates all the trimmings.

Ann so sorry to hear about your SIL, hopes she makes a quick recovery.

we bumped into a couple we know in the supermarket, she was saying she is missing seeing people,  I know she is involved in lots of groups, a choir etc but of course they aren’t allowed, thankfully we are quite happy on our bubble, steve is a creature of habit so anything that doesn’t mess with his routine is good, drives me mad sometimes as he has to plan for the following day, sometimes I throw something in the mix as we leave home, ha,ha

Our mini lockdown is being extended until December 9th as the 7th and 8th are fiesta days so it is to stop everyone coming down here to their holiday homes.
Steve told the lady at the bakery her husband will be able to buy a new Mercedes soon as she is very busy, she laughed but she hasn’t seen her family in Portugal for over a year.

About a half hour away we have a Mustang Sally's which is a strip joint! LOL. I think they actually shutdown long before Covid.

I've never named a car. I don't like getting too attached! LOL   I think a friend named all of her cars Bessie!

Not much chatter today, is everyone busy with the mini VSN? I haven't even checked the challenges.

Kathy, I don't normally name cars. I did name one of my parents' cars, the one they provided for me to drive. It was a 1974 (or so) Galaxy 500 and, for some reason, I named it Maynard. But that isn't normal for me to do. It is, however, normal for DD1 to name vehicles. The Camry that I drive is Joy, the poor old Sienna van, she named Art Garfunkel but I call it Artie. I told her if she was OK with that, then she could name it Art Garfunkel. She has a project car - a '69 Mustang that she named Rochester and the Honda that she was driving, she named Atticus after Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird.

Yes, that lineworker makes me smile as I drive up into the neighborhood.

Jan, Steve sounds like my DD2. She has ALWAYS wanted to know what we are doing. When the girls were little and coming to work with me, when it was time to go home, she always wanted to know if we were going straight home. If I told her I had errands to run, she always wanted to know precisely how many stops and, if I threw an extra stop in, I heard about it!

I guess I should go check out VSN.

Catherine your family sound like ours when our sons were still at home, we all had a car and at one point eldest son had an American car and a sports car for work, it was a nightmare parking them all!

Right now we have five cars - but only three work. Rochester, the project car, sits next to the driveway under a car cover waiting for time and money to work on him. I need to find somewhere to donate Atticus. I can't wait to get rid of him!

I missed the VSN mini last night! I had planned on playing, but we went to a wood-fired outdoor pizza restaurant with neighbors last night and then, they came in as my friend wanted to go through my cards and buy some before my next sale on Black Friday. By the time they left, I was too tired to start mini VSN.

I need to make lots of Christmas cards! I really need to step up my pace! I'm so slow.

I'm not into cars and never really know the make or model, but I can tell when I see a "slug bug" or a Volkswagen! LOL My description of cars is by big or little and what color it is.

Jayne, enjoy the rest of your vacation!

I hope everyone has a great weekend. I'd better get busy and productive so I have enough cards to sell next weekend.

Thats exactly how I know cars. My son will say what was he driving and I say something black! I do know truck vs SUV or car. So I say blue car, or red SUV.

Good morning, ladies.  My mom always called her car Bessie!  Must have been a popular car name back in the good old days.

I’m burned out on journals, although I am redoing DD2’s because I think the pages are too drab.  I will probably keep redoing them until Christmas Day, lol.  Right now I am watching ephemera videos and making lots of little things out of scrap paper, pieces of lace, beads and charms.  And those garment pins that come on clothing, the ones with the bulb shape at the bottom.  I have bits and pieces of stuff all over the table, not to mention the floor!

Ann, prayers for your SIL.

DH’s DS1 and wife were going to have Thanksgiving this year.  I like the food and the bit of company, but I am an introvert at heart, like the saying, I came, I had dinner, now I’m ready to go home.  Too “peoply” was another phrase.  And too many not wearing masks.  Too many people talking for too long.  I mentioned to DH that he’s welcome to go but I’d like to stay home.  Then, we got a call that DSS’s wife came home from work very ill, and now he is self-quarantined while they wait for test results, and the dinner has been cancelled.  We are checking in daily to see how she is doing.

DH also got a call from his DS3, to please pick him up and take him to the emergency room.  He was vomiting and hands and face were swollen.  He had passed out and fallen hard, and when he came to on the floor, he thought he’d broken some ribs.  The doctor said it looked like an extremely bad reaction to something, and yes he had three fractured ribs.  Virus test was negative, thank the Lord.  Our county is calling for help in the hospitals, and, unbelievably, freezer or refrigerator trucks to hold the deceased.  The morgue is overflowing.  People are panic buying again. It’s nuts.

Update on DH’s DIL, she tested negative.  But she has an extremely bad case of the flu.
