Ann, you're going to be one tired Gramma tonight! Have fun!

Oh Kandie, I can't wait to see your finished journal for your DD1. I'm sure it's gorgeous! I like the idea of a safari journal too!

Jan, that is so funny that your GS want to go somewhere "posh" and then chose Denny's! Children are so sweet!

The craft sale went really well yesterday! I think people are ready to get out and all of the craft sales have been cancelled this fall. We required masks and hand sanitizer before they could come in to the sale. Only one lady refused and left muttering and complaining! Oh well! We made over $1000 for hospital! It was our best sale ever!

I have to get going as I need to make samples for Falliday Fest as I'm hostessing this year. I also am behind on some birthday cards! I'd better get to my room and start creating!

Have a great day and weekend Alphas! Hugs!

P.S. Lola is so sweet. She sits on her the cat perch that I bought for her and sleeps or watches me craft. Every now and then, she gets up, meows and lets me know she needs some attention!

Kandie, that is just what I did. Put Frozen stuff in the freezer and perishables in the fridge. Then I looked at all the rest until I had a plan on  where to put them! I have enough tp for a year, so that's bring stored in my bedroom, along with the paper towels and tissues. But I have been stocking up on canned goods and water and that was a little harder to figure out where to store it. I am stocking up because DH isretiring in January and I don't want to have to get anything at the beginning of theyear while we transition.

Just found out that my LSS owner died from covid! She got it from relatives who came in for a wedding! Kelly Acheson said she got it from attending a funeral. This is why I avoid going out in groups.

Oh, my goodness, Kathy!  So sad.  We are careful. We do go to church, but they have really taken all the precautions to keep us safe, and we wear masks.  I know some churches are still not meeting, but ours has been since May.

Ann, are you home?  How is your eye?  Are you exhausted?  I thought of you all day.

That is fantastic news about Karen, Shirl! Thanks for sharing. Yay!

So sorry to hear that your LSS owner died from Covid. Scary stuff Kathy.

Sharon, it's good to be careful. I think we are all tired of the isolation but we have to remain cautious.

Great news about Karen!

They say the upsweep in covid cases is because of complacency. People are tired of being careful or just don't think about precautions because it's talked about so much.

Oh what fantastic news from Karen, so happy to hear that, thanks for letting us know Shirl!

Gracie your kitten is so cute and she is a lovely colour too, you certainly raised a good amount of money too, well done!

Kathy that’s a good idea getting stocked up, since lockdown I’ve been making sure we have some cash at home and things that ran out, toilet rolls and cleaning products!

Kathy how awful your craft lady caught the virus, we’ve had eight cases this week, we just knew it would go up, two weeks ago it was the jet ski competition on our beach, hundreds came down from all over!
Apparently our region, Murcia  are talking about shutting bars early, makes me smile at that as if the virus only comes out at nights!

We are definetly in the 2nd wave, I think they call it. We have had over 200 new cases per day for the last few days.

Just home from a dinner with friends. They had bought a lasagne at Costco. Man was it ever good.

Still cold and windy here. The wind was supposed to be gone by this afternoon. But at least it was sunny today and will be tomorrow too.

Shirl, I think Lasagne is so tasty, it’s also the one thing I still make! Steve does all the cooking normally!

Our neighbours have been having their log fire going, not sure why as it’s been hot in the day and warm in the evenings!

Have any of you ever watched a show called Hoarders? I cried through most of it! The job looked impossible and the homeowner was caring for a wife who had Parkinson's in a bedroom with dead rats! So sad, and yet amazing journey he went on to release things.

Kathy, what a sad illness and how awful for the family members. I saw the show once and it was so hard to watch.

Jayne, glad you had a wonderful time. Hope you get a good night's rest! Hugs!

Jan, a log fire is always the best! Makes one feel so warm and peaceful.

Have a wonderful Sunday all! I've still not found my mojo for crafting...maybe today is the day!

My sister's mother in law was a hoarder. When she died, they filled dumpsters with things and some were things she bought and never opened! I think my sister in law is somewhat of a hoarder too. My brother sleeps out in the camper and im guessing it's because it's not filled with clutter. He has everything he needs out there. It's truly amazing that they cannot see it. And you're right, it's a medical illness. The man on this episode started out really excited about the cleanup, but as it went on, he had some major anxiety issues after that first day. Like I said, I cried a lot for his pain.

Nothing to do with crafting but I read in the news that if you have a PayPal account and don’t use it, after December they are going to be charging for having the account!
It was said by a man who helps people with money problems so I’m assuming it’s true, I’ve just closed my account as I’ve only used it once. Just thought it may be of interest as I know many people have PayPal accounts.

Good morning! It is a lovely, sunny day here, a bit on the cool side. No sign of wind which is why PG&E will be shutting our power off this afternoon sometime between 3 and 6 pm. Can you hear the sarcasm in my voice?! Oh, and they plan to keep it off through Tuesday. If we had wind, I would be slightly more understanding about it. I guess DH and DD2 will be going to work with me so they have access to electricity to work and do school. I'm thankful we have a generator. DH was just at a store in the little town closest to us and someone was in buying a generator.

Anyway, enough about that. What wonderful news about Karen! Thanks for the update, Shirl. That is fantastic! I'm happy dancing right along with you all.

Ann, how are you after watching your poppets yesterday? How is your eye?

Gracie, so glad your sale went well for the hospital.

Jan, thanks for the heads up about Paypal. I shall have to check into it. We don't use it much.

Kathy, I have watched Hoarders a few times. It is sad and fascinating at the same time. My dad's cousin was a hoarder I think. And my aunt who did the paintings tended that way. When she passed, the cousins came together to clear out her house and garage and what a job. I wasn't there to help, too far away from me and the girls were small. Of the episodes that I watched, I was happiest when it appeared that they had made a breakthrough in the person's thinking/gotten them the help they needed so they wouldn't return to living like that.

I think we'll be firing up the wood stove here pretty soon.

I'd better get to chores while we still have power. Need to get some laundry done.

Default Hello

Waving Hello from Colorado!

We are in a small town, and apparently, even though very little Covid the first time around...people have been heading here for a 'break' from the big cities and as a great little stop from Moab back to Denver, so the Covid here is up.....  So we are enjoying visiting, but will stay close to home!

This part of colorado has weather similar to the desert...and rarely sees snow.  Well, guess what- snow today!  Big fluffy snow that bends tree branches over!!!  LOL  It will be 20 tomorrow................
img_8649.jpg

Hope you can see my picture- this is the little 1000 sq foot Guest house we are staying in : )  It is comfy and cozy and snowy too!

Ann- hope your eye heals quickly!  Did I read you went and watched kids???  Hope your day went well.

Sharon- you are on the run today- have a great day!

Gracie- the kitty is so sweet- and, WOW on your successful sale!  I hate to be a party pooper, but with my asthma I cannot tolerate fires very well!  I will try, but it's hard!

Kandie- the midwest has weather all over the place!  It is such a beautiful area near Notre Dame!  Love the story of your dream.

I have been having some pretty crazy dreams!

Shirl- thank You for the update- so wonderful to hear the news of Karen's update!

Linda- hope your Fan Club membership gets done easily!

Kathy- what a day- lots of time on your feet and lots of stuff!!!  My nephew- on hubby's side- his MIL died a hoarder and her house started on fire.....  so very sad!

Catherine- that picture is just adorable of your kitty!!!  We have never had a cat- hubby did when he lived on tyhe farm when he was young, but only one dog since we were married.

Jan- thanks for the heads up- we use our Paypal account a bit.... : )

Janye- glad you enjoyed your time away!

We had an OK ride, many stops the restaurants closed, so I had packed a cooler and had a big salad and lunchmeat and bread for Ray.  My back and hips are not quite back to normal, but not too bad.  First day here, 15,000 steps!  The baby is alot like his dad at the same age : )  I am loving every minute : )  He is 17 months- adorable age!!!  He was seeing snow tonight, and a fun thing to witness.  It will be cold here- 20 degrees tomorrow, but hopefully we can get the baby out in the snow!

I do have a few stamping supplies with me, and trying to check in on challenges : )

Waving hello to all!

Shelly

Sounds like fun Shelly! Enjoy the baby! Wow...that's a lot of heavy snow!

Heading to bed soon! Have a great Monday everyone. I'll be heading to Hospital craft group tomorrow morning to put everything away from the sale.

Shelly that’s a beautiful lodge you are staying in, looks beautiful in the snow., pleased to hear you are enjoying spending time with your GS, that’s a lovely age!

Catherine I hope you didn’t actually get power cuts, it’s annoying when there seems no reason for them! Our son hasn’t had any, yet!

Spain has a curfew from 10pm until 6am, bars have to close at 9pm, steve said they could put the curfew at 6pm and it still wouldn’t affect us, ha,ha,

Re PayPal, just read another report that says they will contact customers who will be affected, it reads that if you haven’t used your account for a year and are nil balance you won’t be charged but if you have a balance but haven’t used it they will charge you!
I tried to copy it but I couldn’t get it to work.

Jan, was the report from PayPal as I’ve checked their site and there’s nothing on there about any forthcoming changes. I do receive scam emails about PayPal and always check the official site as there’s a lot of bogus people out there. I use PayPal a lot so won’t affect me *wink*. Thanks for the info.

Jayne, the first report was from Martin Lewis who advises on money matters in England and I would believe him as he gives quite sound advice and he helps people to get money back from companies, this morning I tried to find his article but there was another different one saying they are going to charge but not zero accounts, I’ve only used it once  in 2011 and the address was our sons and he hasn’t lived there for eight years, I couldn’t even find my bank details on my account but they wouldn’t work anyway.
It did say they will contact any one who will be affected.

Thanks Jan for the update.  That would explain why I’ve not heard but I’m surprised that PayPal don’t have a message on their site. Oh well...I can carry on using it lol.  I’d rather use it than provide my CC.  Have a great day

Forgot to say I’ve had emails saying about changing stuff but I’ve never read them !!
As I don’t use it, anyway it was easy to cancel and I’ve kept the email telling me it’s cancelled just in case my account suddenly gets used!

Sorry I didn’t mean to alarm everyone but I just thought it was worth mentioning

Good morning!  It is snowing here on Oct. 26th!  I can’t believe it!  And 25 degrees!

Shelly, what a beautiful photo!  Your snow there is so pretty.  We are not getting that much.  We can see green grass peeking through.  But earlier it was blowing against the windows.  I think it has even quit.  The driveway is covered , though.

I can’t remember what I read!  Jan, you have an adorable grand party animal! LOL

Your curfew in Spain wouldn’t affect us either.  We rarely go out out at night.  Before the pandemic, I went out at night for our ladies Biblestudy potluck once a month, and in the Winter it was dark.  5:30 and I was usually home by 8:00. Oh, and once a month the seniors pot luck at church.  But of course all those stopped with the Pandemic.
Jan, did I ever tell you, I did get your happy mail?  I am saving all I get to open on my birthday.

I have the PayPal, but use it pretty regularly, especially for SplitcoastStampers Fan club membership.

Linds, I hope you and your sister figure out how to get your Fan Club membership paid.

Jayne, I get those scam emails about my PayPal account being suspended all the time.  I did repot one of them to PayPal, and  I deleted the rest or moved to spam.  I found a special address to report the scam email.

Gracie, glad your craft sale was successful. Your kitty is so cute.  Almost makes me want one!

Ann, hope you got a good nights sleep!

Have a great day everyone.

Oh, Catherine!  I can’t think what it would be like not to have power for that long!  What about your refrigerator And freezer items?  Is that what your generator is for?  Hugs!

Shelly, that's a beautiful photo! It's cold here this morning but up to 45 now. I keep bringing my hibiscus in overnight and putting it back out during the day. Especially today because it's raining and it needed watering anyway. It bloomed a flower last week. I was surprised. We really need the rain so no complaints from me. I got another set of my grommet panel curtains you add to the ones already up. They are fairly new so I thought getting another pair was a smart idea in case my cat puts a hole in one when he sits on the back of the couch. I just need to get some wrinkles out of them before I hang them.

Today I am thankful for the much needed rain. How about you?

Good morning.  We had a dusting of snow this morning.  Roofs all turned white, but it barely showed on the lawn.  We're warmer than you, though, Sharon.  That may be lake effect temperatures, since we're only about 25 miles inland from Lake Michigan.

Sharon pleased to hear your happy mail arrived, so did mine but it’s with the others.

We are lucky it was 12c at 8.30 and by the time we were heading home at 10 it was 20c.

Wow sharon I can’t believe you’ve had that much snow In October !

Our friend in England has just emailed to say her GD in London is in isolation as her teacher has tested positive!
