Happy anniversary, Kathy.

Good morning everyone.

I was PM'ing Jayne, and she said she's had a tough week emotionally, so took herself off the threads for a bit, but she's feeling better and will be back soon.

We have offspring coming for lunch. We're making fajitas. Yum!

Morning everyone! Grandkids are still here for the day and will be into the evening.

Sons have so much to move for the business into the larger location so it's taking a long time.

Getting a break as son number four is playing video games with them!

Behind on crafting, oh well, family first.

Kathy, happy anniversary, enjoy your day!

Kathy congratulations, have a lovely day, enjoy Michaels, I always have a bumble around when I’m over as there’s one ten minutes from our sons, I always think it’s expensive though, cheaper than England though.

Kandie if it was left to Steve we would have empty shelves and just a chair each, oh and a tv of course, I think it’s because his mum had too much furniture in the rooms, it was like an obstacle course, the funny thing is she was registered blind but she knew where everything was

I have to go back and read everything when I finish my cards for Dirty Girl June gallery. I'm so frustrated here, because my internet service is so poor. It wasn't working well at all the last couple of days. It takes me about a dozen tries to even upload my cards! We have no other options for internet because we live out on a point (small peninsula) on the lake.

So, hello to all! I guess it will be fall before I can be more active in the chats again! I miss all of you. Hopefully, when the weather stabilizes, my internet will improve.

Gracie our son used to complain about our internet when we first moved in, it was always going off and if it was in the evening no one would check it until morning, thank goodness it’s all been updated now.

We asked the technician if it would improve and he said because of our remote location, this is the best we can get for now. It's like being back in beginning of internet access. My pictures upload piece by piece. I guess I'll have to learn patience!

Good morning! I just wanted to pop in and wish Kathy and her DH a Happy Anniversary.

David and I are working on the plans for the new shed and then enjoying some quiet time together.
Shelly, I would love to join in on zoom if you are planning to do that. I was planning to spend the day in my craft room anyway.

Have a lovely day. Hugs to all.

Happy anniversary Kathy. Have a wonderful day with your hubby.

Popping on to say hi and waving to you all. I have been in touch with some of you and glad that my cards are finally getting through. I’m good...just a very tough week for lots of reasons and I needed to get it all out of my system. I’m finally finding some peace within me.

Have a great week and happy crafting. Hugs

It was nice. I got another Wendy's strawberry salad and a milkshake.we went to michaels and I picked up small things for my friends birthday. then we went to Dicks sporting goods but I ended up at a bookstore called BAM. I got a new message bible and the daily guideposts for 2020. I'm currently reading 2019 because a friend bought them each year and always gave me year she just finished. She quit buying them so I bought 2020. I got large print in both books!

Good morning, friends. Kathy, that Abbott and Costello skit is one of my very favorites! I’ll never know how they could each keep straight faces during those skits, lol.

Happy anniversary once more, and it sounds like your bookstore purchases will be enjoyed for a long time.

Gracie, so frustrating on the weak internet service. Is there anything like a signal booster available for you to buy? I had to have a booster years ago. It did help, a bit.

Jan, I laughed when I read your furniture post about what your DH would have if it was his choice. DH said his mother never ever rearranged her household furniture, where it was put, it stayed. He said with me, however, he’s never sure from one month to the next where he’ll sit, because I get bored and move stuff around all the time. I tell him that’s my creative mind, lol.

Jayne, {{HUGS}}, we all get days like that, my dear. Prayers to you for peace of mind.

And Jayne, you’re right, those were indeed the golden days of entertainment. Right now everything I find on tv are police shows or medical shows with too much graphic detail, or zombie shows, also with too much graphic detail! Give me a Bing Crosby or Bob Hope or Danny Kaye movie anyway! (Including anything with Sean Connery or Harrison Ford, yum!)

I know Kandie, I could live without TV, but DH likes his TV at night. He watches lots of DYI, documentaries, travel and food shows.

Kathy, that video of Abbott & Costello made me laugh out loud! Love them. Remember the baseball skit?

Jane hope you get a good night's rest. Your multi media tag was FABULOUS!

Hi everyone!

Jan, my mother changed the furniture around every week when she cleaned! She's 87 and still changes furniture around, but not weekly. She has little pads (furniture movers) she slips under the legs of furniture and pushes it around!!! LOL

I can’t really move our furniture as it’s not a big sitting room, I swap the two sofas around in summer and winter but when we lived in an apartment in Germany when we were first married every Friday I would clean right through, we had tiled floors with a square of carpet, I would scrub the floor and re polish it and then move the furniture around, so Kandie Steve would have sympathy for your DH, he used to say the same, he never knew where his chair would be., I always think it looks cleaner when you move around.

My mum would start cleaning before she left for work in the morning and finish when she got home so if you called round before she had finished the chairs would be on the table and everything stacked on the sofa, we once went round and the new sofa hadn’t been delivered, we looked through window and they had deck chairs in the sitting room, lol

Gracie I could have done with those little pads, I used to move wardrobes and they were so heavy, Steve would tell me off,

I have to make do with just moving the outside furniture around now!

I am of the school, of when we find a good arrangement, it stays that way. I used to move it around when I was younger and could do it physically. Since we moved in here two years ago, I only changed a chair around with my bookcase shortly after we moved in and haven’t changed it since.
Jan, when I clean, I stack things on the couch, like the foot stool, magazine basket, floor pillow etc., so I can run the sweeper easier, and move the chairs and table away from the walls. DH just has to stay out of the way, like downstairs, while I do it, because there wouldn’t be anywhere for him to sit!

DID YOU ALL SEE. Joyce Ann was named Dirty Girl! She is one our scrap mates, and I think used to be on the Alpha thread shortly. So happy for her!

Lunchtime. I have been organizing stuff in my craft room. I keep thinking I am going to craft! LOL

Afternoon, how cool that Joyce Ann is a Dirty Girl!!

I like to move things around also, I get sick of the way things look! And that I need to clean around items. I was doing that this morning! Cleaned out window wells in the family room today again too!

I am behind on everything! Will get there!

Sharon, Steve tells every one that he has to stand in the corner on a square of paper when I clean before a trip away! I try to find him jobs to keep him out of my way.

Sharon, I’m so happy for Joyce Ann..you and her were the First Ladies I met on this site. I’ve already been checking out the theme this month and some creations by some of the Dirty girls..oh my..some beauties in there.

I’m good ladies. I just needed to clear my head. All good and thank you for your thoughts. I will disappear from time to time.

I started my alpha card yesterday for this week..things didn’t go to plan. Oh well. There’s always later today.

My mum used to have set cleaning schedules..and set menus..weekly. She cleaned every day and my sister does too. I don’t lol. We only move furniture in our rooms every few months except stuff we can move. I do have a tool that can get behind and under furniture on my Dyson so that helps. I couldn’t move some of our furniture if I wanted to..except the ones on wheels. We do have pads under one couch in our sitting room upstairs. I used to mop weekly too and that doesn’t happen now...I’ve got slack as I’ve got older but with only 2 of us it doesn’t really get dirty as we are both tidy. I don’t like stuff lying around and like clean surfaces..except in my craft room, so if we mess a room up, I have to put things away before I go to bed. Must have got that from my mum.

One thing that does irritate me though is when I’ve cleaned the bathroom (Or kitchen) and DH goes in and messes it up. I say can’t you just let me enjoy my cleaning for at least an hour lol. He says he had to pee lol. Son3 always used to come downstairs and want to cook every week after I had cleaned the kitchen. Gosh it irritated me. Small things now.

Hope you are all well and having fun. I intend to later but today is my cleaning day lol...as quickly as I can do it and then food shopping.

Default Hello

Kathy- that is an awesome accomplishment! Happy Anniversary!

My Mom used to get us out of the house for at least an hour, and vacuumed every single day on the first floor anyway. 7 kids...... She had a very organized system for laundry and sorting who's is who's and we had chores..... I on the other hand- have allergy induced asthma and very allergic to dust..... LOL Kids got us a Roomba for Mother's Day- and I am in love. Hubby is shocked that even when we sweep the floors, how much dirt and dust Roomba picks up!

Dental appt today and eye doc appt tomorrow...then have to see PCP for back/hip......

Ann- good to enjoy kids and love your saying family first!

Gracie- so sorry for your frustration with Wifi!

Kandie- you are funny- I usually leave furniture in place...on occasion I do move it around : )

Jayne- hope all is well- your Bday card arrived today- wonderful : )

Sharon- glad you have time to organize : )

Jan- funny to imagine looking in the windows and seeing furniture stacked up .

Kandie- I went into an older home for an estate sale and thought of you. I could not stay long, as the smell was too musty- but I am sure you would have enjoyed one room- all older linens- gorgeous linens!

Off to bed! Hope to do nothing by create after eye appt tomorrow. The eye clinic is notorious for very long wait times, so we'll see how it goes!

Inky hugs

Shelly

Shelly, glad that it finally arrived. A few have been arriving in the States the last week which is good. I hope that all of your appointments go well and that you don’t have a long wait tomorrow.

Good morning, good morning.

Jayne, we all need our time to think about things that upset us. I was in bad mental shape two weeks ago, very moody. I learned from DD2, the one who bought her first home and let my DGS1 live there in exchange for helping her with mowing the lawn and things like that, that she discovered some of her collectible silver was missing, and then some tools disappeared, all she bought new for her home. Then she stumbled upon a towel wrapped around many more tools and some other things that mattered to her. About the same time, someone tried to break into her house, a screen was slit so a person could get in. Apparently DGS1 has been stealing from her, and in all probability it’s one of his friends who tried to break in. She has served him with with a legal eviction notice (he won’t get out, and does not have a job). He really bombed out on her kindness. I haven’t mentioned it, this is the daughter with severe PTSD, and she does not need this on top of her health problems.

And that’s all I’ll say about that. So very disappointed in him. But things like that prey on our minds, don’t they.

Thank goodness for friends who understand.

Anyway, about the cleaning, my morning chores are to straighten the house all up, bed made, rooms neat (except craft room, lol), kitchen cleaned. Floors are vacuumed once or twice a week, depending on how much DH tracks in from his garage projects. And everything is perfect. And then DH begins his daily thing of cluttering backup again, lol. It’s like running around after a small child!

Shelly, wishes for good medical appointments today and no waiting time. And about that estate sale, oh my, linens? Gorgeous linens?!! I love linens!

I spent yesterday cleaning the small cabinet and mirror and a matching table that DH bought from this last sale he worked at. No one paid any attention to them at the sale, no doubt because they stunk of mustiness from being in the damp basement. Linseed oil to clean the outsides, and just tons of Clorox wipes, dish soap and hot water with rags, and even a spray deodorizer to clean the backs, bottoms, and insides of the cabinet and drawers. Yuck. I had oil in my hair from crawling inside and under the furniture. As a final deodorizer I dumped fresh out-of-the-can coffee grounds into the drawers. The coffee grounds absorb odors really well.

DH said why is there dirt in all the drawers? Sigh.

So I’ll take a photo of the pieces in a bit, after I finish breakfast.

Morning!

It's warming up here today so I have turned on the air already. Plus the people next door have loud machines working on their septic system. I feel bad for them and hope our continues to work!

Kandie, you are a genius at fixing old furniture!

Shelly, good luck at all your appointments. Hugs!

Have to think up a card for this weeks double letter challenge! Off to eat breakfast and contemplate!

Good morning! I'm heading over to look after my grandson today. I am very behind on cards and will try to catch up on those tomorrow. Does anyone want to join me for a video chat tomorrow?

Shelly I hope your appointments go well.

Kandie sorry about your family frustrations.

Have a great day!

Annette, me, me , me! I want to video chat. So lonesome here some days. Just DH, and he is not in the craft room with me! Can’t really go anywhere yet. We have gone to church two weeks now, but can’t hug or shake hands. We still haven’t gone out to eat yet, just ice cream that one day, and we sat outside and ate it.
Mt craft chair is broken, will have to get a new one. I can sit in it, but carefully so the whole thing doesn’t tip over.
Jayne, glad your are back with us.
Jan are you back to going out for breakfast on your seafront?
Ann, so wonderful to have your grands back ! That is the sad thing about our kids living so far from us , never really saw our grandkids much.
I have been scrapping, slowly. I can’t seem to do things quickly anymore! LOL
I missed saying Happy Anniversary to Kathy! Sounds like you had a wonderful day.
Kandie, that piece is gorgeous! I was picturing something quite different from your description. LOL
Guess what time I walked this morning to beat the heat? Left at 6:45! Was home by 8:00.
Ok, my iPad told me it can’t back up anymore, I don’t have room on the cloud. Of course it wants me to pay so much per month. I am not going to do it. But trying to find things to delete. I deleted a lot of email. I had some from 2011, but they were all in files. There was so much, I deleted whole files! Will that help, do you think? What can I delete? I am trying to delete photos, by emailing them to my laptop. Anyone else have this problem?

Sharon , yes we are now walking and having breakfast on the seafront, only at one place that we know are clean etc, we leave home at 7.45 and are usually home by 10am.

About iCloud, Steve says if you go into the back ups,it lists what you are using storage wise to back up apps, I deleted a few apps I don’t use but iCloud still keeps telling me it’s nearly full, I’ve put loads of photos o discs to keep, it’s all about wanting you to pa as you said,
I also wish our family lived closer, if I’d ever bought this would happen when we couldn’t go to see them I think I wouldn’t have wanted to live here much as I love it and wouldn’t want to live in England.
our family would have been arriving tomorrow, makes me upset but I’m trying not to think about it, especially now we can’t go there either, we will at least see our eldest son and youngest GS hopefully in September, we have the ferry booked, that’s if we are allowed to travel, no one will give us travel insurance for the virus! I’m not sure anyone will get it no matter how old they are.
