Kathy, me too I couldn’t eat something I didn’t like.

My hair is growing , I’ve cut my fringe twice and tried to thin the sides as they grow thick as they grow long, I’m Not going yet, I’d like to see if I have a lot of grey on my hair, it looks so dark at the roots, I haven’t let the highlights grow out for years although I did have auburn Highlights for a change but Steve didn’t like it,

I'm not eating anything, just water and tea, but no sweetener in the tea. Honestly, I thought I couldn't do it either but if you drink enough liquid, it keeps your stomach full.

Kathy, I went for a haircut yesterday. I did have to buy a mask from them because they didn't like my face covering and I discovered another problem with wearing masks when it was done - when I put my reading glasses on to handle payment at the end, the mask made them fog up! I was so happy to finally get it cut!

DD2 is done with her junior year of HS - and still desperately wishes she was a senior year this year. She did great with her finals - a 95 on her Chemistry final and a 100% on her English final which was a short story. DD1 was quite impressed because she said that teacher doesn't give 100% to students and brags about it. Yay DD2!

I have to go into the office later today to meet someone who is training me on some new responsibilities.

Afternoon!

Of course you can do a scrap book page for the letter of the week. NO rules that say it must be a card. May be any type of project/card! The idea is to create!

Jan, hope your GS gets better soon. Hard to see the little ones suffer with any illness.

We think our neighbors are putting in a pool, big equipment on their backyard making lots of noise. Diggers and earth movers working all day! Good thing our air is on with all the noise!

Kathy, I want one of those Wendy's salads!! Not going out though!

I just told my spouse that he is NOT going to his Kiwanis meetings at a bar either. Reminded him if he does, we would not get to see the grandkids, they would not bring them over if he was going to a public bar.

I need to vacuum up dog hair, they are shedding like crazy, but son is on the phone for work all day, so must wait! The disadvantages of having a work at home person.

Well that means I will have to do peaceful crafting till he's done with work!

Catherine I know water and tea will fill you but I would worry about nutrition. And I'm afraid sugar levels might spike or drop. There is such a thing as a cleanse but don't go too long without food. I don't want to see your resistance drop and end up sick!

If spouse goes into town I will have him pick me up two of the salads!! You have made me hungry for them, Kathy!!

I agree with you too on not waiting too long to eat. Plus too much liquid can hurt the body too!

For me I have to eat with diabetes. I get shaky and sick without eating.

Ann, when my brother put a pool in his backyard (he doesn't live there anymore), he set up his camera in a second story window to take photos automatically, I'm not sure how frequently, but it was fun to watch the progress that way. He and his sons sure used that pool a lot! I think they got their money's worth before they moved.

Kathy, we are monitoring things like our temperatures and BP while doing this. I'm hoping to get through seven days but I may change my mind, we'll see. It has been a good thing to do though not fun.

Oh yes, with health concerns it would be a different situation. Thankfully, DH and I are both healthy. And I am still taking my daily vitamins.

I am not diabetic, but eventually I start feeling very sick when I don't eat. Many times I don't eat before 2 p.m. because I am busy. Plus I eat late snacks so I'm not hungry in the morning. So around 2 I start feeling sick until I eat something. I'm not a good water to begin with. The mouth issues are a big reason. And the nose issues. If you can't smell things, it's hard to feel hungry.

Kathy, I could never have done this when I was a kid. Back then, I had to eat very quickly after getting up or I would get sick. One summer, I went to a summer camp for kids for a week. They had an assembly by the flagpole before breakfast, a little devotional, the flag raising, etc. I told my counselor that I had to eat right away or I'd get sick. I think she thought I was being overly dramatic so she didn't listen. But she did for the rest of the week! Needless to say, I never went back, I much preferred family camp where my mom was in charge of me!

I'm also thankful to my mom for getting me started drinking water when I was in my early teen years. She had read an article about avoiding mental deterioration by drinking water and got me started drinking at least one glass of water right when I got up. I was old enough that I remember it didn't taste good to me at first, now I can't imagine starting my day without it!

Good afternoon all!

Just the "idea" of fasting has me eating! LOL I've had chocolate and licorice...reading about fasting made me crave treats! I'm so bad! Ha ha!

That Strawberry salad sounds delicious Kathy!

Jan, sorry to hear about your grandson. I hope it's nothing serious.

Kandie, I understand you having to keep your "head on straight". I was in a bad car accident in my 20's and have had neck problems ever since. When crafting, I have to make sure to get up and walk now and then. I try to prop things up that I'm working on. I have a table that tilts up so I can stand at that and work. If I don't stay on top of keeping my neck aligned properly, I get a whopper of a headache too! No fun!

Hi Jayne! Hello everyone! I was cleaning this morning. Now, I'm going to try to get to this weeks letter "J" challenge.

I wish my parents would have instilled good eating and drinking habits in us when we were little. I drink coffee and water when I take my pills. I also drink Sprite, but to be honest, the bubbles are the only thing that helps my sore mouth. I usually take several swigs and put the cap back on for later.

Catherine, you are such a strong woman! I have IBS, GERD, bowel and esophageal issues, have had since age 7, and cannot go without food or stomach acid will cause so many issues. And no way would taking vitamins on an empty stomach work. More power to you for success for this body cleanse.

Catherine, I know about that not finding words. It’s like you can see in your mind the sentence you want to say, but there is a blank space where the word you want should be. Sounds strange, doesn’t it. Then later, suddenly, the word you were looking for pops up in your mind! By then, however I’ve forgotten what in the world I wanted to say, lol.

Oh Ann, a pool sounds so wonderful! When I water the flowers I can smell that fresh water scent, and it makes me wish I were near a lake!

Kathy, I’ll check our Wendy’s and see if the salads are available here. I’ve never tried one!

I have to show you this cat doll I found at a sale. The guy collecting the money told me thanks for buying it as it had been staring at him for two days and no one would buy it, lol. I’m going to put it in the back porch.

Oh Gracie, you are naughty! I love licorice, chocolate I can take or leave, but licorice...yum! So annoying that slow internet! We pay for a more premium internet service, thankfully, since we were all working from home. We did that because of DH's work.

That kitty doll is so interesting, Kandie. As far as being strong, it does help that I don't have any health issues. I am so ready to be done with this though. We'll see if I make it to my goal.

Is it as frustrating for you as for my DH when you can't pull the word out of your brain? It truly frustrates him. At home, I can usually help him out.

Kathy, I'm very thankful that mom instilled the water drinking thing in me. And when my girls were little, I didn't give them juice, they got water. That said, I have a very bad sweet tooth, so the food department is more challenging!

Just popping in to say hi. I've read the chatter but can't remember any of it. I got news today that a friend had a major stroke yesterday. She's only 56. She stopped by on Wednesday and I'm kind of in shock. I can't even go see her. Please keep her and her family in your prayers.
I'm going to try to finish my craft space tomorrow to keep myself busy. I was able to get the brackets today so I have everything. I'm also fighting a killer stress headache so I'm going to call it a night. Sleep well all.

(((Annette)))....hope your friend recovers soon and that your headache is better today.

Catherine, I could not fast. I now find I get fades if I go without food and the Dr suggested I eat small amounts regularly. I have read about this fasting and personally I am worried for you and that you are doing it for so long. I read that fasting for one day occasionally is good but 7 days...eek. Please be careful. Well done to your DD on her exam results.

Every year there are new diets/fads coming out and I have friends here and overseas who try them. I sometimes wonder if we are just making the people who come out with them and their cookbooks rich. Even son3 has tried a few...keto, only eating within an 8 hour period, etc, etc. He is fanatical about his body yet he still gets colds like the rest of us. When growing up we had fruit/veggies and fish and meat and simple plain meals. Now I try and not eat too much meat as I can’t digest it. I love fish and seafood and could live on those. Take away my occasional drink and choccie and snacks and I would be so grumpy LOL. One thing I do need to do is drink more water. I’m so bad although I used to drink about 10 cups of green tea a day up until about 2 years ago. I rarely had coffee and now coffee has become my preferred drink although I don’t drink more than 2 cups a day.

Kandie, that cat doll is interesting. I have a doll that stares intently and when I’m in the same room with it, it sometimes unsettles me LOL.

Gracie, slow internet sucks and trying to watch or download something. Glad you are able to still post.

Ann, good idea to keep your DH away from the bar. Enjoy your poppets.

Kathy that video and song is awesome. Thanks for sharing.

Jan, I’m so sorry to hear that your DGS isn’t feeling well. I hope that it’s just something minor.

I don’t feel old either but I am being realistic. I know we can stay here but it will become a burden in time. We only use the downstairs part of the house apart from me venturing up to my craft room. I just want us to keep our options open and to live overlooking a golf course would be awesome. I’m sure it will be a long time before we relocate. The next stage won’t be released for quite a while yet.  The kids said we are way too young to move yet LOL

We stayed up this way as all our kids plus friends and our golf course are this way. We enjoyed living in the city but I knew no-one and that was a lifestyle change and to be able to walk to work. Once our DGS arrived, I was happy to move back. It was terrific living in the city but not for me as I get older. We could go for weeks and not see anyone in our apartment block and I spent half of my week driving back and forth this way.

This morning DH has said he isn’t closed off to the idea but not for a long time yet. At least we are agreed. The location isn’t ideal as its inland, near a lake and bush where there’s snakes and lots of bugs. I would be eaten alive and yesterday when we visited they had an outbreak of locusts everywhere. I guess when we are ready to move we will have to make some compromises.

The poppets are here...sorry if I miss some other chat...time to go. Happy weekend

Default Hello

Waving hello to all!
It's been a busy and fast moving week here! I am using DH's computer when he is not on it or my cell- which is really darn hard to type on!!!

We have had protests in our town for the last 3 days, so far peaceful. I was able to get my hair cut Wednesday, and she was boarding up her building, $2500 to board it up and another $500 to get it taken down at the end of the week. The town South of us, Naperville, had some crazy damage and looting after the protests there.

Annette- so fun to get all of your new craft room supplies, and how fun to get a new organized space! I am so sorry about your friend- having a stroke is no fun!

Kathy- lol about that skunk..... we put out rags with ammonia if we smell them and they head out..... Beautiful mother son video!

Gracie- welcome home to Wisc! and sorry about the internet there! Glad your wrist is making some progress for healing!

Ann, good to talk hubby into staying in, and fun you are able to see the grandkids!

Kandie- hope your headache lessens! Our Neighborhood chat had a thread on headaches- LOTS of people suffering right now! Sorry about your injury! That cat doll is quite interesting! I think Katie's dog would be chewing on it!

Catherine- Goodness, I would never be able to fast that long! I think I would faint! Congrats to your daughter on her great grades!

Jan, hoping your GS recovers quickly!

Sharon, I know what you mean about working on the VSN cards, I try to craft and get sidetracked! I worked in Surgical ICU for many many years- and love the smell of bleach...... lol

I will head to the City (aka Chicago) with my DD1 in the AM to look at places for her to purchase. This is the 3rd weekend she is looking. There is a huge protest going on in the city tomorrow by teachers protesting the amount of $$$ the city spends on having police in their (school) buildings and how it could go towards other services..... There are some really tough neighborhoods though, so I have mixed feeling about it.

Waving hello to all!

Shelly

Shelly, be careful today in your travels. I know Chicago can be a rough city when it wants to be.

I had several thoughts on responding to chat but I’ve already forgotten what I read. What’s that advertised med, Prevagen or something like that? I either need to get some, or carry a notepad and pen around my neck along with my Swiffer duster, lol.

Catherine, when I forget a simple word in a sentence I get so frustrated. It makes me angry. I need to get over it, just a simple fact of life now.

DH is still being very nice to me, even bought me a sewing machine yesterday that I have wanted (on and off) for three years. I must have really scared him with my blow-up!

Wow, I must have been going through craft supply store withdrawal and didn’t realize it. DH went to the home improvement store and dropped me off at the local Michaels store first. Seems like everything I saw, I wanted! I brought home two embossing powders, two distress Oxides pads, more watercolor paper (because I keep ruining so many), some paint brushes, a polymer stamp set. I can’t wait to get crafty!

When I met DH he had two very old Siamese cats. One passed away while we were dating. The other passed after we were married. She was a pistol, Bonnie was her name, and she would do the funniest things. She was not afraid of Dusty, Dusty thought she’d run the house but Bonnie snarled and showed her claws and that was that. Since Bonnie has been gone, we would swear we’ve seen her shadow now and then. I brought that cat doll home yesterday, DH said Bonnie will NOT like that doll! This morning he was looking for his favorite hat, he was wearing it yesterday, and walked into the garage to find his hat sitting on top of the car, which we did not drive yesterday. We have blamed Bonnie, she was always hiding his stuff, lol.

And yes, I was worried Dusty would pee on it, she has done that before to a beautiful pillow I brought home from Goodwill one day!

What is everyone up to today? DH is working at a coin auction so I have a few hours to myself. I need to check out today’s inspiration challenge. Waving hello to everyone and hoping you all have a simply great day with no health problems.

Ann, I did show my junk card to DH and he said WOW this is terrific and that I’d better not send it to anyone, he liked it too much. He said, I’ve got all that stuff you put on the front out in my shed! (I know, dear, I know, lol)

Annette so sorry to hear about your friend, it’s so awful not being able to visit people, our DILs sister had her waters broken, stayed bleeding so they admitted her, nothing going on so she is stuck in hospital and no pains, she said she’s being ignored as nothing is happening, also her husband can’t visit

Our gS is a little bit better but not eating, mind you he’s such a fussy pecker, drives us mad, he can be in the next room when you call him for dinner and he will say he doesn’t like it even though he doesn’t know what it is.

We were brought up with meat and veg every meal except Friday , actually every day we knew what was for dinner as it was the same every week, friday was homemade fish and chips, a pudding, Every day, very often steamed suet, golden syrup or jam or spotted dick, was pudding with currants in it, ha,ha never knew why it was called that. We didn’t have pop as it was called, my parents weren’t well off, only dilute juice, we had very healthy meals, sandwiches were always bread and jam, ham was for Sunday’s, But we always had a weeks holiday somewhere different every year, in England of course, Easter at the seaside in my grandma s friends bungalow and whitsun in a caravan at the east coast, we always had sundays out in summer, always had a picnic before a game of something before coming home,

I found the photos of our pool being built last week, the men looked so small stood in the deep end, when it’s full it’s hard to see the depth.

Catherine I couldn’t go without food, wish I could, it’s funny if I try to not eat chocolate I start craving it although I can go months without it in summer, it melts too fast in the heat .
Your doing so well if you can do a week. Do you remember the cabbage diet, everyone at work did it, the office smelt awful! Steve did an egg diet, poached eggs with cottage cheese, he loved it but not for me, my mum did it for one day and was put off eggs for months.

Kandie enjoy it while you can if DH is feeling generous.

Our dog Sam always chased cats until he met Steve’s sisters old cat, he went to sniff and she smacked him across his nose, drew blood too, mind she was cantankerous.

Good morning all! I will catch up on chat later when I can read it properly. I am having a horrible start to my day and can't stop crying. My friend died last night. She was the person who first introduced me to Stampin' Up at a party at her place. I'm going to finish setting up my space and do some creating and think of the fun we used to have doing it together. Thanks for being here to let me get this all out.

(((HUGS))) Annette! So sorry to hear about your friend!

I'll be back later. I'm off to see my 87 year old mother who has been patiently waiting for me to visit her, since we've been back 4 whole days!

Good Evening.

So sorry Annette, sending you lots of hugs.

Ann- enjoy the Grandkids. I didn't see mine for almost 4 Month.

Kandie - congratulations to the new sewing machine.

Jan - hope your GS will feel better soon.

I fast each day from 8pm to 12am, then I eat two meals.

Last year the DH of a friend of me, was diagnosed with cancer. He had lots of treatments and felt better. Yesterday he died. I'm shocked. He was 62 years old.

Sending hugs to all of you.

Card class was fun. It was a tight fit, but the extra lady won't be coming regularly. She was just visiting the woman who brought her. But she spent enough to have her own party so our demo is having her stuff shipped directly to her. They loved my cards so I was happy. They also went through the stuff I brought and I made $140...!!
