Oh, Kandie thought it was tonight too, I think...or maybe she was just asking what we were working on today. OK, so it's Sunday evening. Thanks for letting us know Annette. Enjoy the outdoors!

Kandie, if you've used a special technique, or a SU stamp set, put it in that gallery, but that doesn't require a keyword. All cards you post automatically go into your own gallery.

Annette is your Mother from northern or Southern Ireland? My dad’s mum was from Northern Ireland but she died when my dad was 12 so I never met her, I did meet her sister a few times because she lived in London.

Steve trimmed my hair at the back this morning, it was driving me mad, I wasn’t sure if I could trust him as he is never serious, when finished he said does Madame want any product! For some reason he thinks that’s funny , ever since my friend in England said her hairdresser asks if she wants product on her hair.
Then I decided to try to thin my hair so I dragged the scissors through my hair but underneath, it feels much better actually, as it grows so thick.

My mother is from southern Ireland. County Tipperary. I had to come in to change my clothes. I was getting sunburned working in the yard.

Jan, I love Steve's sense of humor! LOL "Does madame want any product?" What a fun fellow! I'm glad your hair is feeling better. I just put mine up in a band or clip. My hair is very fine but thick if that makes sense. Lots of fine hair. I've been a "hair twirler" since I was young. A few years ago before my Dad passed away, I was driving him and mom somewhere. He sat in the back, behind me. (He had Alzheimers.) All of sudden, he says, "Hey, why don't I twirl your hair and you can put both hands on the steering wheel!" LOL

Afternoon!

My new office chair arrived today from my number three son for Mother's Day! Mesh chair and it reclines and has back support!! So comfy!! He spoils me too!

Gracie, that is so funny what your dad said!! I'm still giggling!

My hair is thinning a lot these days! I take special vitamins to help with it that the dermatologist recommended but I still do not see an improvement after several months.

It is tomorrow I thought for the zoom meeting right? Was it 5 P.M. central time? Need to make sure I have dinner out of the way by then! Was going to make breaded chicken and mashed potatoes tomorrow!

Gracie that is very funny what your dad said, Steve is a joker, always finds something to joke about, it’s got the point that when he tells anyone something serious they think he’s joking
When he was at work there was a really bad plane crash on the motorway. He went into work and was telling them as it had been on the news they all thought he was telling a joke and was waiting for the punch line, I told him one day that would happen!

Just had a phone call to say my new battery for my Apple laptop has finally arrived, from China!! I’d like to say I’m not buying it but Apple doesn’t make them any more so my laptop is useless without a new battery

Hi everyone! We are enjoying a nice, sunny day and are supposed to get rain tomorrow.

Kandie, I am doing a happy dance over here that your couch arrived and everything is fine. That is wonderful! And goodness, Dusty and Honey have so many similarities, it cracks me up!

How fun that you received your Arteza brush pens and I love your DH's sense of humor!

I'm sure Kathy's card class is done by now, looking forward to seeing your projects.

Jan, yes, remembering what words mean in England versus here in the states is challenging sometimes. I did know the words you mentioned though.

I'm usually pretty good with accents although, every now and then, a new character would come on Downton Abbey with a different accent that was more challenging for me to understand at first. Unfortunately, I can't identify where the accents are from when watching Downton, there is a lovely variety though.

Too funny, Melody. At least the clothes weren't all wrinkled in the dry though.

Jan, my craft desk is right in our living room. I like being where the family is but I do have to be careful about leaving it messy...that's probably a good thing!

I like your DH's sense of humor too, Jan, he sounds like fun. The other day at DD1's work, they had a fire in their oven. She was the one that found it and she said, "There is a fire in the oven." I guess she said it so calmly that they didn't think she was being serious! (And it was fine, they contained it without trouble.)

Gracie, that cracked me...what your dad said. Too funny!

Yay for a new desk chair, Ann.

Those are all really great cards, Kathy.

We get to see the kids tomorrow - first time since the lockdown. DS is picking up our order from a Mexican place. And I get presents, since birthday and mother's day got delayed. They are coming for lunch, so I don't know how late they will be here. I may or may not connect with you ladies on zoom.

And I got my kitchen table and chairs all cleared, so we have someplace to sit and eat.

Kathy, what adorable cards!!!

Does anyone in the UK say Cheerio anymore? I love the word poppets, it is just so sweet!

DH got most of the back of his shed sided. I spent hours planting flowers, impatiens and begonias, playing in the dirt, what a lovely day. Spray-painting stuff to put in the yard. DH said it’s my fault the wind picked up, because it always does when one of us wants to paint something!

Then he treated to Dairy Queen banana splits, now we’re sleepy.

Melody, a family meal sounds wonderful!

Gracie, I love your dad’s humor, too.

Jan, yay on your battery! Gosh, all kinds of things are happening this weekend. Ann, so glad you got your chair, too!

I love hearing about Ireland and Britain, especially since my dna tests (did two just to double-check) say I’m 72% those areas. Hey, is THAT where all these freckles come from? . .

I think all I’m doing is rambling so bye for now. Have a wonderful evening!

Kandie, so happy to hear you received your couch!! Hooray!

Hope Jayne's gets straightened out!

Kathy, I love all of the cards you made!! So well done! You ladies are always so productive!

Other neighbors across the street are having a big party. Signs outside their house say the woman is turning 40 and people should honk their horns to help her celebrate. So all day we keep hearing horns honking! Plus, they have tons of people over, cars are lining the road.

Melody, sure sounds like you are going to be having fun tomorrow!! A meal with the kids and no cooking, sounds fantastic.

Sons ordered food in tonight! What a treat, sure has been a long time since we had take out. Such a treat, and we all really appreciated it so much more now!

Kandie I hope you are enjoying your new couch, I think people still say cheerio, most likely older people, but where we come from they say ta rah! Hello is hey up! They also call people me duck, I really hate that!

Kathy your cards are beautiful, did you take all the parts with you or do they supply them?
I found a craft class when I first came here, it was awful, she gave everyone the parts for a simple card, no one spoke to each other, I didn't enjoy it and when I showed my friend the card she said I made better cards than that on my own!

Melody I hope you have a lovely time with your family, sounds like fun.

Default Hello

Hello to all!

Kandie, glad the company could get you a replacement couch so quickly! Yeah!!! And, glad your projects are moving forward too!

Jan- you are brave, I would never let my husband cut my hair! LOL and glad you were good for projects as well! Glad your new battery has arrived.

Kathy- wonderful cards- and hope your wish list is not tooooooooooo long looking at the new catalog!

Ann- nice gift- hope you will love your new chair! And, hope your headache is better tomorrow too.

Melodie- lots going on tomorrow- have a great time!

Gracie- my hair is thickj as well! Such a sweet story about driving and twirling your hair too!

Annette- mush of my Dad's Irish family is also from Tipperary (Thurles). Also Limmerick, Co Mayo and Co Wexford. I did a DNA sample for both of my parents and am on a site called GedMatch where it matches DNA to those who upload there from all of the sites (Ancestry, 23 & me, Family Tree, etc.....).

Jayne- we did a bike trip last July in the Netherlands. We boarded a boat that would take us from place to place. It was very scenic but long bike rides daily. I had back surgery in early May, so expected the doc would not let me ride, but he said- go for it. So, I was able to do 4 of the 6 days. I got really padded bike shorts and an e-bike : ) Luckily, after surgery, I began walking 10,000 steps a day, so was not in shape, but not in terrible shape either.

Looking forward to meeting up tomorrow night, I will join up after we eat. We are having an International night themed dinner, which the girls have planned, and I still have to come up with an idea for a main dish for Ray and I.

Shelly

Hi Jayne, it’s all getting like that here, it scares me as there was too many people this morning for my liking although we did see a couple who we haven’t seen for a couple of years, now we know why they’ve moved near the beach.

Well, good morning, me ducks! (Sorry, Jan, just had to go for it, lol).

Kathy, thanks for the tea bag heads up on the tutorial. I shall get one ready, although with the state of my craft table, I’ll be lucky to find it when I need it, lol.

Ann, rain, rain, rain, all day today. At least it’s a soft rain. How is your head?

Shelly, I’ve never heard of GetMatch. I’m going to check into the site.

Fried chicken is always a good idea for an American dish.

Shelly, 10,000 steps a day? Where in the world do you go? Wow!!!

Jayne, chokkie! Now that one was easy to figure out! (Now where did DH stash those dark chocolate Hershey’s Kisses...?)

Kandie I will have you all speaking our dialect before long!

Shelly 10,000 steps good on you , I’ve done 6595 up to now as we walked along the smaller beach but decided to go around the campsite m couldn’t believe it, there are quite a few RVs, German and Dutch, I guess they were stuck in the lockdown or decided they’d rather spend winter in Spain.

Maybe today I can try out the new watercolor brushes. I have flowers already die cut, and some ideas. And I think I know what to do with the paper gate now for the GA card. I just didn’t have any flower stamps small enough to go behind it. I did hear Hobby Lobby is open now. And I have run out of plain white card envelopes. I thought I bought thousands of those. How does a person run out of white envelopes?

I don’t know how Dusty could take over the new couch so quickly, but she has figured out a way.

I’m hoping to join in the Zoom today, as soon as I figure out what time it is my time.

Does anyone here buy the square boxes of tissues? And if so, have you noticed there are less in the boxes than there were a few months ago? Why do manufacturers do this? In a time of great need, when so many people are sick and need their products, they figure out a way to cut back on the amount inside so they can sell more. I’ve been running out quicker, and finally took a look at the amount of tissues listed versus a box I saved from months ago because I liked the design on the cardboard and thought it could be used someday for a nice bg. So depressing. “Law of supply and demand”, says DH. I would hope manufacturers had more heart and soul than that. Guess not.

That’s my grumble for today.

Kandie they've been doing that for years! Its especially bad in recipes. Recipes sometimes call for a can of something, but the cans no longer hold the amounts they did years ago. So it could mess up the whole recipe! A cup of flour is still a cup of flour, but a can of evaporated milk may have been 15 ounces when the recipe was written and only 12 ounces now. Ice cream used to be a half gallon and now only 48 ounces.

Good afternoon, it’s 14.33 here.

I’ve been complaining about how little cereal is in the boxes now, I bought some fruit and fibre from the English shop and the box had double the amount in. I’m sure it’s happened since lockdown and I haven’t been able to buy fruit and fibre in our Spanish supermarket only the cereal with dried strawberries in it.

I decided to make the butterscotch pie again, well first I melted the butter in the microwave and it splattered all over the inside, I took it out, Steve came in the kitchen and put it back in and it did the same, then I forgot to put some milk in with the melted butter and sugar, so I opened the milk carton, it was a full one so it spilled it on the hot hob, glass, tried to wipe it with sponge, yes that stuck too, took me ages to clean up and had to use a knife to scrape the sponge bits off the glass hob!

Gosh, Kathy, I must have had my head in the dirt! The only thing I noticed was the cans of coffee were getting smaller and smaller.

Jan, so with all that mess, how did the butterscotch pie turn out? And did you save me a slice?

Good morning ladies. Rainy here.

Manufacturers of most products decrease the size of stuff, keeping the price the same, gradually increase the price. Then sometime in the future they will make it bigger and say XX% larger, blah, blah, blah. Think of how large a candy bar you could get for a nickle.

Kandie, you can always use your heat gun to dry out a tea bag at the last minute.

I going to make another sourdough bread today. Everyone loves dipping in herb oil like you get in Italian restaurants, and it's time to use the starter again.

Melody, I have IBS, gastrointestinal problems, and sourdough bread is the most recommended to eat out of all the breads. I love it, especially toasted!

And great idea on using the dryer on the tea bag. I tell you, if I didn’t have you friends to remind me how to use different craft supplies, most of them would sit and eventually get given away.

Morning!!

It's pouring here and so dark! What horrible weather we are to have for the next two days, up to 2 inches of rain expected.

It's it bad how they try and trick the consumers in buying products, they think we do not notice the changes in the sizes! It's rip off the buyer for sure now a days!

What time are we meeting up today? Have to plan dinner around the time of the call! I'm making breaded chicken and mashed potatoes.

Sounds yummy, Ann.

Annette is Alberta, Canada, which I believe is mountain time, so should be 5:00 here. I'm not sure I'll be in or not. Depends on how long the kids stay. We are planning some game time, but it usually depends on how long DH can handle before he think he needs a nap.

I think that's 7 here then. Not sure, but will try to at least pop in and say hello!

Good morning. Cheerio!

Zoom should be 3 p.m. here then, I think. AZ doesn't have daylight savings time and is on the same time as CA now. I'm thinking of making an apron for myself as some of you suggested last time. I'm definitely a messy crafter!

Off to finish reading emails and get ready for our chat.

Jan and Jayne, ta rah and too roo.
