Kathy, your first upload was on my DD2's 7th birthday! Fun to see everyone's first upload. Here is mine: You're My Type - Mojo438 by cdimick - at Splitcoaststampers Yikes, what a terrible photo!

Shelly, I have the sentiment stamp set you used on your first upload.

Beautiful photo too!

That is funny, Jayne, that you like peanuts but not peanut butter!

Hi Jan! My first upload wasn't my first card, just the one I chose to begin my gallery with.

Shelly, I forgot to mention about the rainbow color transfer, they should be done moving. They tend to move to equalize the liquid level in each glass. I was being goofy and said that after this is all over, we should buy a variety of paper towel brands and test them to see which ones soak up the liquid more quickly. Is Bounty really the quicker picker upper? lol

Love all the first upload cards!

Shelly, Technique junkie is Kelly Acheson! Do you subscribe to her YouTube channel? She became a grandma yesterday! Her daughter, Haley, had a baby girl! Kelly is also doing the tutorial on SCS this week, I think. She mentioned it on her YouTube channel.

Just back from the Pharmacy, ten minutes late opening and they all walked through the door together! At least this time they had plastic coats, gloves and masks, last time nothing, they also gave me two FREE masks, that’s made me hopeful that maybe we are going to be allowed out to walk, just hope we don’t have to go separately.

Steve has now gone out in the car to the bank which is in the port, first time the cars been out and Steve also, he has his new mask and sanitizer and I told him to ring me when he’s on his way home, I worry about him, ha,ha, he’s worried he might get stopped by the police and fined.

Hopefully this will give you all a smile, so it should have been the London Marathon yesterday but obviously it was cancelled, someone decided that to raise money seeing they couldn’t run 26 miles they should do something 26 times instead.
Someone decided to eat 26 Cadbury’s chocolate fingers, LoL much more fun than press ups, etc don’t you think.

Jan I’m sure I could eat 26 choccie fingers. I still buy those.

Here is my first card I posted in my gallery...gosh that wasn’t too long ago.

Sis Vicki commented on it. I wonder how I got the courage to post lol.

Jayne that's lovely, some of my first ones were awful as they were parchment craft and I wasn't too good at it.

Here’s my first card in 2016. Not too shabby, although I think it is probably straight out of my first SU catalog. I actually remember other much less detailed cards, but that was many years before I found SCS. This is my second round of making cards. I know I made a lot around 2010.  (And remembering some of them, they were HORRIBLE!)

Good morning! How is everyone? I got an allergy attack yesterday afternoon that messed me up for the rest of the day. I hate that. It was so beautiful out, and I sat on the couch sneezing and blowing my nose. I did catch up on some of my shows DH won’t watch. He is not a fan of science fiction, lol.

Speaking of, has anyone watched Brad Pitt in Ad Astra, which means To the Stars? He is good in the show, but it’s one where he talks his thoughts through the whole thing, and it just drags. If you like a show with action, don’t waste your time or money.

Here’s a chuckle for you! I needed some spray starch for some of my thinner hankies, so DH went to the store (of course he did).

He asked a store worker where he could find the spray starch, and she told him in aisle whatever-it-was, along with the rest of the baking goods, lol.

Ok, on to the chat!

Catherine, that transfer project was too cool and way too fun to see in the photo! I’m sorry about your DD2’s senior year being ruined by the staff changes.

Kathy, if I remember right sitting at my table making cards in the beginning, my toys were SU stamps, inks, and ribbons, all from SU stamping up parties. Whoever heard of a MISTI or an embossing machine! . Everything I owned fit into one small plastic storage unit on wheels.

Shelly, what an incredibly lovely sunset!

Gracie, how’s that foot today?

Melody, I too love to carry hankies, especially for a special occasion and in a pretty purse.

Jan, I’m so glad to hear you may be out and about a bit now, and that your DH got out yesterday. And I volunteer to eat 26 Oreo cookies if anyone wants to pay me to do it. Actually, I’d be glad to eat them for free!

Good morning ladies.

I can remember making cards before I had stamps. Used heat n bond and fabric. Cut out shapes (heart, bear, gingerbread man, etc.) and ironed them onto the card front. That was it. I still have some of them, and will occasionally attempt to 'upgrade' them into something I would feel good about sending. I should really make a considerable effort to get that done.

Good morning everyone! Such a lot of chatter to catch up on. Thanks for the recipes. I won't be using Catherine's, as I'm allergic to coconut. Melody's sounds yummy but I too am trying to drop a few pounds so won't make them any time soon.

Jan and Jayne, sorry that you cannot find flour. Living on the Canadian prairies means flour seems to be easier to find. I have also gotten the wheat right from farmer friends and gound it myself before.

Shelly that is a gorgeous sunset photo.

Gracie and Jayne, how are those injured feet doing?

Here is my first card in the gallery

Can't believe that was 13 years ago! I used my good old paper crimper on that one, before we had embossing folders. I too made cards before I had stamps. The kids and I would use old wallpaper books that the stores were happy to get rid of. I still have some of those that DH got from the kids for father's day.

I just realized that I made 2 "D" cards and never uploaded them. I will do that when I do my "E" card now. I have to get the family's taxes done, so will probably be doing that most of today. I am also working on 50 mask cards for my DH to send to all of his students. I found the idea this weekend here. I'm going to put the masks on flat to save on postage.

I wish I had creative thoughts like that Annette! Cute!

I went to bed early and slept On and off 12 hours! Got up and finally started exercising again! Then I made a pot of coffee. I heard water sizzling, which usually indicates that I didn't put the pot on the heating plate quite right. But water starting pouring out. I lifted the water reservoir lid and saw that I had put the filter and coffee directly into the top and forgot to put the filter holder in! So I cleaned up the mess and then nearly did the same thing again!

I'm working on round two of cards for SCS friends. Someone may get a second card because my first list had one friends name twice, so I can't remember whose name should have been in that second spot!

Hi all, I sure enjoyed looking at everyone's first cards they posted to SCS. Mine was only 2 years ago, even though I've made cards since the 80's. My sister and I had a box of old cards and it was so funny to see a stamped image using colored pencils and stamped directly onto a white card. VERY basic! LOL

We were gone all day yesterday...it was a gorgeous day. Saw some beautiful lakes and canyons.

Sadie is doing much better now and, I am too. It helped keeping my foot elevated all day yesterday. The swelling is way down and it's still a pretty purple.

Jayne, how is your toe doing? Hope you had a lovely weekend. You must be so excited to get to see the poppets soon.

Jan, that was a good way to deal with the cancelled marathon...do something 26 times! LOL I could definitely eat 26 chocolates! I'm hoping you’re soon able to get out more and that Steve wasn't fined while out.

Kandie, your dolls are so sweet. I got a good laugh out of the spray starch story...just check the baked goods aisle. Young people!

Kathy, good for you getting back to exercising...the only thing getting exercised here is my mouth. Of course, my excuse is my sprained ankle.

Melody, those iron-on cards sound very interesting! Amazing how much everything changes over time.

Ann, I hope Athena is doing better today.

Catherine, loved the color transfer experiment. So sorry DD2 has to figure out what to do for her senior year of HS. Perhaps she can complete the year online. I'm thinking many students are going to continue online schooling. It is so sad to miss all the fun social activities of a senior year, though.

Annette, I still have my paper crimper. I loved that face mask card video. What a sweet thing to do, making them for your DH's students!

Shelly, I like your pretty photo...that's new isn't it?

I'd better get moving...I'm turning into a "lump of lard" as my mom would say. Ha ha!

Good morning!

Jan, I hope Steve got back from the bank without getting stopped and fined.

Gracie and Jayne, I hope your feet are doing better. Gracie, what color is it today?

Jan, what a switch to eat something 26 times versus running 26.1 miles! I've run two half marathons and that was enough for me. I'd much rather eat something than run! lol

Talking about first cards, I had actually been making cards for a long time before I found SCS and then a long time before I was brave enough to upload. When DH and I were first married, we were poor college students so we handmade cards for each other for Valentine's and other card occasions. I still have those in scrapbooks, he was actually quite creative!

I got into stamping though, when we visited one of my college roommates. She had gotten into SU and was a demo. We went to visit her and her husband staying overnight at their place. DH used to joke that it was an expensive trip because I placed my first order with her!

Kandie, yuck to an allergy attack! And that is too funny that your DH was told spray starch was with the baking goods!

Good for you with the exercising, Kathy. DH and I ran/walked yesterday so my calves are talking to me today. We run in minimal shoes (I actually run in Five Finger Vibrams) so our foot fall is different than if we wore regular running shoes and it gives our calves more of a workout so I can tell we haven't done that for a while!

Annette, what a bummer to be allergic to coconut! I saw that face mask video too, very well done, I loved it with the "Miss your face" sentiment.

Oh wow, Kathy, to the coffee pot this morning. I'm glad you caught yourself before doing it again! You needed coffee to be awake enough to do your coffee maker! lol

PA is starting to open some things back up. You can now have elective surgeries and go on guided fishing trips. I hope they haven't opened too soon, but that is easy for me to say because we haven't suffered as others are with no jobs and I have plenty of tp!

I went to the chiropractor again this afternoon. My right shoulder was in a lot of pain - it kept me awake Saturday night. Thankfully, the adjustments he made last time have held but today he found another area of my neck that was out and causing the shoulder pain. I'm so thankful for a good chiropractor!

Kathy, I'm so glad you have enough tp. We are in search once again and coming up mostly empty. This afternoon we finally found some at a neighborhood Walmart. A very generic bathroom tissue, 4 rolls 150 2ply sheets per roll. The smallest rolls I've seen in ages but it is better than nothing...I think. At least they didn't price gouge, this package was only $0.68! Thankfully, DD1 was with me (we had to take her iPad to see about repair) so she bought one pack and I bought another.

Default Hello

Hello,
Hello- love seeing all of the first cards! I really learned from scratch and also from a SU party!
Jan, wow- you are really on lockdown there! We are free to go out and roam about the country and city, masks recommended. We have many open areas close by- Forest Preserves, and we do not wear masks when we walk outdoors most of the time. I sure hope your hubby gets back with no trouble! And, I think I could try to eat 26 of something…. to raise $$$ chocolate, potato chips : ) Pieced of Popcorn!

Catherine, prayers your shoulder is better soon! I did have trouble with my shoulder when my neck was acting up! I have to watch my posture- helps so much. Do you work on a computer a lot??? I have had neck surgery (2004) and back surgery (2019)...…

Gracie- Thanks for a beautiful card- arrived today! So sweet to celebrate 61..... I mean 39+

Ann, I read that about Singapore as well- a 2nd wave..... So glad your pup is better today!

Kathy, you can hire your hubby as your fishing guide and go fishing together...He knows all of the good spots, right? LOL

Annette- I hate coconut- so many of the dairy free products have coconut in them.... And, I love that card with the face mask! How fun is that!!!

Kandie- sorry your allergies are bad!

Melodie- wow- I cut shapes out of fabrics like that to applique onto fabric for quilts and kids clothing. You'll have to share a card with the shapes on cards!

Surprise- when SCS had issues, my picture disappeared.  I have been trying to upload pictures, last one- my grandson and it uploaded sideways.  So, I tried pictures last night, all said upload failure.... I see one finally uploaded.  That was 4 yrs ago, bangs have grown out and hair is now down to shoulder blades….  I have an appt early June.

Not much happening here today. My daughters dog has become my husbands shadow : ) He is going to be so depressed (both of them I think- husband and pup) when my daughter heads back home! Happy to say the girls are getting along quite well, which is great!

Waving hello to all!

Shelly

Shelly, that wouldn't work at all. Hubby does not fish. He is a hunter and turkey season starts Saturday! Son is a fisherman. He and I go fishing together when the weather is good. Today he went with his girlfriend. He had caught two trout when I talked to him. He video chatted with me on Google duo so I got to see where he was fishing.

Hi everyone...quick hello as I’m on a mission today and have dusting and cleaning to do..yep yuk. Its a beautiful 24 degrees here today. Yes there are second spikes in China, Singapore and Japan. I think Japan is the worst.

Gracie, keep resting your ankle. My foot is a lot better and I did 5 laps around our park yesterday but it’s not totally right. The middle toe and top of my foot is still bruised..it’s been 2 weeks today now. I can’t believe walking into a door frame would cause so much damage.

Well I need to press on..my theory is the quicker I get it done, then I can be back in my craft room creating and doing fun stuff. Happy Tuesday...when it arrives. Sleep well.

Morning ladies, just having my cup of tea in bed and reading all the overnight chatter, well overnight to me.

It was quite funny as I asked Steve to ring me when he was on his way home but while I was waiting my phone popped up with a text from the bank to say a withdrawal had been made on my card, it seems he used my card by mistake, so I knew he had arrived safely!
He only saw one police car, not many people about and no lines outside the supermarkets down in the port, the thing is they have about six large supermarkets down there and lots of empty holiday homes, here we have one supermarket for the whole Urbanización which quite large.
Steve said there was a massive line outside the bank to get money but the other speed bank had one man near it just stood there, eventually Steve being Steve asked him if it was working, he said oh yes I’m waiting to go into the bank, so Steve asked him if he could move away while he used it!

Good news that yesterday Murcia had no new cases and no deaths, I just hope they don't start letting holidaymakers down for weekends or that will start if off again, thats what started if down here in the first place.

You know when you are worrying about small things like not going out and then something happens to make you realised how lucky you are, I was talking to a lady outside the pharmacy and she was telling me that just before lockdown she had just finished her treatment for cancer, she then went on to tell me that she had her eye removed as it was in her eye, she just told me as she was talking about having a cold, so sad.

Jayne and Gracie I’m pleased to hear to are both slowly healing.

Kathy I hope you have been getting fresh fish to eat, how lovely to fish and eat it freshly caught! My sister when she had just met her now husband went fishing with him for the day, loves young dream! she took sandwiches etc and after about two hours she had eaten everything and was bored and wanted to go home, he never caught anything as he said she made too much noise, ha,ha, she never went again!

Catherine I hope your should feels better soon, There’s nothing worse than a sleepless night in pain.
have problems off and on and was sent for X-rays, seems I have the start arthritis in the top of my spine and bottom, I have some exercises to do but after a while I forget to do them , the doctor told me not to cross my legs as it doesn’t help with the posture and to sit up straight, doesn’t help using a computer and iPad though, ha,ha,

Well, good morning, everyone. I’ve caught up on the chatter but forgot to make notes for half of it, not quite awake yet.

Annette, I totally forgot about paper crimpers. I remember being so excited when I bought my first one. I think every card after that had something on it that was crimped, lol.

Kathy, I agree, you definitely needed coffee before you made coffee!

DH just asked me what were the plans for the day. I told him I wasn’t even awake yet, how in the world would I know about plans? He said it helped him to plan his day. Sheesh, not even through my second cup of coffee yet!

Jan, don’t cross legs and sit up straight? No wonder my legs and back ache so bad sometimes from the arthritis. Good to know. I wish you pain-free days and lots of enjoyable craft times.

Waving hello to everyone!

I made 11 more dolls yesterday. Hankies and little rubber bands and ribbons and cotton balls all brought out to the living room so I could work on them while sitting on the couch so Dusty would quit giving me dirty looks every time I disappeared into my craft room.

One of the hankies had a large flower at each corner, and it wasn’t till I was pulling the tip of the corner up around the cotton-stuffed head that I realized what a darling hat it made. I think I may keep that one for myself.

Annette, I just remembered your face mask card. “I miss your face!” How super adorable is that!

Shelly, I had problems with my gallery the other day, someone comment on a card and when I went in to look at the comment all my pictures had gone, eventually they appeared again.

It’s so hard to remember not to cross your legs, it’s just a natural thing to do I was sat in the surgery with my legs crossed at the time when she was looking at the X-rays
She said it’s very bad for you, she’s so lovely I always go with Steve for his appointments so I know what’s said, he has heart problems, even though she knows I haven’t got an appointment she always asks if she can help me in any way.

So while we were taking up the tiles in the garden Steve banged his hand, made a massive blood blister, it started bleeding so I had a mild panic as he takes blood thinners, I cleaned it and wrapped it up so he didn’t get dirt in it, then he stood up and banged his head on one of the plant pots on the wall, so now he has a cut on his head.
Honestly, no wonder they are telling people not to do DIY

Kandie that pink hankie is gorgeous, but then so are all the others!

Jan, I think Steve is being warned to take it easy the rest of the day!

As for crossing your legs, I was told its not only bad for your back and neck, by also for your heart. But I keep forgetting and cross them anyway.

Day two of exercising again. I have to force myself to get started, but then it gets easy. I overdid it on my first day yesterday and I woke up with leg pain and had to wrap my heating pad around my leg This morning.
