Ok, I found something to do with my vintage handkerchiefs. What do you think? Would anyone like one?

Jan, I don't really know! Never been there, last time we visited he was in San Francisco. His girlfriends mother lives in Pacifica. And right from their patio door is the bay.

Looked it up:

Tiburon is an incorporated town in Marin County, California. It is located on the Tiburon Peninsula, which reaches south into the San Francisco Bay. The smaller city of Belvedere (formerly a separate island) occupies the south-west part of the peninsula and is contiguous with Tiburon.

When we were kids, we'd get bats in the attic from time to time. Mom would take a tin can, set it over the resting bat and then slide a piece of cardboard underneath. Then she'd release it outdoors. When we were cleaning up my parents house to sell, we found a bat, so I just did what my mom had always done. My oldest sister was so impressed. I didn't think anything of it. Now spiders, on the other hand...

That is hilarious, Melody!! You learn from your parents! A great memory of your mother!

For me, I don't care what the bug is, if it is in my house, look out, I'm coming for you!!

Good morning! OK, I have started to type several times but I don't really have any fun updates. About the bat, I think it was Shelly who had mentioned poking something and being startled to find it was a bat. DD1 was not happy to see a bat flying around outside - until DH told her it was after the moths. That changed her tune entirely. But, no worries, the bat was outside and we were in.

Jan, we didn't get to spend enough time in England when we were studying in France for the school year. We did get to visit London for a short visit, and we took the ferry from France to Dover. I would love to go back and visit more. My dad's family came from England. My brother has researched our roots back to Lulingstone Castle so it would be fun to go and visit there.

I do find it much less stressful to transfer my groceries from the shopping cart directly to my personal bags at my car. Probably because I don't feel like I'm holding anyone else up.

Jayne, it would definitely be fun to live close by...I think we might get into mischief!

I did go check out Zoom prices and saw an option for $15/mo, but I'm like you, I go for the free apps (and not many of those either).

I love your description of your D card process, Jayne!

Jan, we need to paint the interior of our house too. It would have been lovely to do that before we moved in but we had an incredibly short time to find a house and move in (we had been renting and our landlord sold the house he was living in and wanted to move in where we were).

Kandie, love your coffee mug. That's unfortunate that your DH's son does that to him, I'm sure it is hard for your DH. I understand that one of the stores I was hoping to go to this week, has put arrows on the aisles for one way traffic there. I understand, as their aisles aren't very wide to begin with, but with that and the wait to just get in the store, I may re-think if I actually need anything from them.

Nowadays, I'm always concerned that I'll have an allergic sneezing fit while I'm out and scare everyone!

Ann, how startling that must have been for your DH! Good thing he didn't fall off the ladder though!

Ladies, I live in California (though I'm not a native) and I don't know where Tiburon is. There are so many places over in the Bay Area, that is usually how it is referred to here - the Bay Area. If you need more details than that, you look it up. lol I remember being surprised to learn there is a Pittsburgh in the Bay Area!

Kandie, your pew baby is adorable! I have a decorative handkerchief that I should try something like that with. It was my grandma's and clearly never used, it has our name "Catherine" on it.

Way to calmly deal with the bat, Melody! And spiders can be tricky, you can sometimes deal with them that way, sometimes they move (or jump) quickly!

I'm with you, Ann, about bugs in my house! Outside, enjoy yourself, just don't come in!

Walmart has the one way arrows, by only in the food section. I was disobedient twice, but there was no one in those aisles anyway! LOL

I haven't encountered the directional arrows yet, thankful my friend posted about it so I know before I go to the store.

You rebel, Kathy! lol

I would for sure have trouble with directional arrows in the store. I spend much time backing up as it is.

Catherine we are painting the outside of the villa! Although it’s single storey because we have a solarium it has waist high walls all around making it higher and one part, my craft room is on the flat roof so that part is high, fortunately Steve has an extending pole that he can fit the roller on to it and his veg plot is about four feet high so he can stand on there.
We usually pay two spanish Lads to do it while we are away , they’ve done other work for us, but it will give us a job for a week or so. I’m the one who has to clean up!!!
Until Steve had his triple bypass we did everything ourselves but now he can’t lift and climb ladders as he did before, plus we are getting older, LOL
The inside also needs doing but it’s all open plan so it all has to be done at once, maybe that will be the next job but it’s not something I look forward to.

I’ve suddenly found tiny ants in my craft room, ion my work surface, I’ve sprayed it all before I locked up so hopefully that will get rid of them, I hate them and have a running battle with them.
I’m sure one day our villa will collapse where they have been digging out.
We found a massive centipede yesterday, it was dead as I put granules down to kill ants and other revolting insects , it’s only the second time we’ve seen one, yuck.

Although I did click “Like”, Jan, that in no way means I like centipedes, lol.

Too funny, Melody.

Yuck to ants or any creepy crawlies inside, Jan, hope you win the battle.

I haven't seen any good funnies lately but just saw this one. I had to go to the bank last Friday and it was so strange to see people inside wearing masks. I'm used to the signs that tell you to remove your sunglasses when you go inside!

Wow! Read all the chat...bats, bugs, moths...oh my!

Another day spent at the Vet, so too tired to chat much. Sadie is sleeping off the anesthetics. The Vet pulled her back molar and found a tiny thorn lodged in her jaw. She flushed out all the infection and abscess, now, hopefully, she'll be fine! Antibiotics for a couple weeks. Mystery solved! Yay! The Vet was so excited that she actually found the cause of the infection...she took a picture of the thorn for us. LOL

Goodnight...going to just relax now!

Wow, I just went through the SU catalog with the retiring list - by my count, less than 50 stamp sets being kept.

My demo was going to read me the list of retiring but I'm not buying anything just because it's retiring. The new in colors, I haven't seen, only saw the names.

I've been going outside to see the meteor shower, only to find out it peaked early this morning. Rats. It's so clear out I would have had a great view

I am interested in some punches, but I don't think any of the ones I want are retiring. Don't have money to get anything right now anyway. I asked for some for my birthday. LOL

Thanks Melody, I've done this so many times and it still keeps telling me that my pw is incorrect. I tried with another email I have and that works. I also retain all my p/ws in the cloud or wherever Apple puts them

Deleted...I don’t think my humour will be appreciated other than by those who are British.

Here is a video that I thought was funny though....I can’t sew and so relate to this woman

Kathy, it would have taken a while for her to read the list of retiring products to you, there are so many! I had wondered the same thing about the Stampin' blends as I was scrolling through the retiring list.

Melody, no wonder I thought the list was so long if all they are keeping are 50 stamp sets!

DD2 was making chocolate chip cookies today (so yummy!) and DD1 was about ready to cry because she wanted home made cookies. So, we went and purchased egg replacer and made vegan choc. chip cookies for her. She was quite happy!

Enjoy your art class, Jayne! Hmmm, with 50 masks, perhaps you could stamp with them? Create some sort of mixed media project? Just use your imagination!

Thanks Catherine..we didn’t buy them. At $100 a box we said way too expensive and I don’t think DH will allow me to get them at that price for my MM lol.

Yum..choc chip biccies...I’ve just had a wagon wheel. I coloured in roses but it was crappy so won’t use them. DGD made an underwater world...so cute. Now what to craft. Sweet dreams

Gracie I’m so pleased to hear Sadie is ok, what a relief, our dog once got a thorn in his paw pad, Steve found it luckily and managed to get it out but it was really infected.
Hope she makes a quick recovery,

I’m making a chicken pie for dinner tonight as Steve roasted a chicken last night so I’m using the leftovers, I’m going to make egg custard tarts too, I haven’t made them for years so I’m hoping they turn out ok, they are Steve’s favourite.

Jayne, I just googled Wagon Wheels and Australia to see what you had. Those sound yummy! Do you like Tim Tams? Or are those Australian? Someone recently introduced us to Tim Tams and DD2 really likes them.

Enjoy painting, Jan! The Custard tart sounds tasty.

I'd better get off here and write some cards.

Catherine I’ve never heard of Tim Tams, what are they.

My Dad loved wagon wheels and then years later we took some over for our youngest son and he said they were smaller, maybe he was smaller that’s why they seemed bigger, anyway everyone started saying they were smaller so the manufacturer put out in the newspaper that they were in fact exactly the same size, ha,ha,

Our son laughs at me as we say Graham crackers , as grey ham and he’s always correcting me. No wonder when we ask for things they don’t have a clue what we are talking about, Water gets me, if we ask they look blank, now we get our GS to order it!

Catherine, the Wagon Wheels are a lot smaller than when I used to have them as a child. They are like a small biccie here. The ones in the UK were big...as big as a coaster LOL. Jan, do you know if they still are that big? Ours are in a pack of 8 so are small ones.

Tim Tams are definitely Aussie...and yummy. They are a choccie coloured rectangle biccie with a lot of layers. Yum yum. i have those usually but decided to give Wagon Wheels a go. We also have a pack of McVities choccie biccies...now I used to have these in the UK as a child too. I was such a brat LOL and it's a wonder I'm not bigger than I am or have sugar problems.

Catherine, I know people who go and live in the UK and take Tim Tams back with them..or they used to. Aussies, that is who live there for work.

My mum always allowed us biccies on the weekend and she would buy Wagon Wheels, custard tarts (or make her own) and choccie biccies. Sometimes we would have jammy dodgers (as I called them)...small biccies with jam in the middle. You can get them here but again they are tiny. Gosh I am hungry thinking about all of this food LOL.

My favourite custard tarts are Portugese tarts. We came across these on our travels in Portugal many years ago and went to what is known as one of the original bakeries to buy them in Lisbon. Oh my....what a treat. Now we can buy them here at a local bakery at $4.50 per tart...yep, work that one out. They are a rip off and not quite as nice as the Portugal ones but I buy them occasionally as a treat for DH and me.

It's lamb casserole for dinner...in the slow cooker. I love to put heaps of mint sauce on it...I'm a strange girl LOL. We love it with mash pots and veggies....well DH loves the mash and I have sweet potatoes...another favourite of mine. And if there's any gravy left, guess what comes out...yep, seeded bread freshly cut. Oh my. Is it 5 o'clock yet...time for my G&T and prepare the veggies. I'm so hungry now LOL.

Your Dad and me would have got on Jan...they definitely are smaller LOL.

Water...what do they call it in the States? Isn't it water LOL? I love it when we go out for dinner and they always ask...sparkling or still or tap? We always say tap unless we are in Asia and then we say bottled please LOL. I love sparkling but it's expensive here. If we have guests over for dinner I always buy lemon bottled water or buy sparkling as a treat...I'm such a show pony LOL

LOL..highlights are good whilst the hairdressers are closed LOL. I never paint these days apart from in my craft room. I always was covered in paint on my arms, legs and in my hair. We need our home painting...send Steve over LOL. I asked my BIL to come and do it as he is a qualified painter/decorator. He's always painting. We do ours every *cough cough* years. Things never seem to get dirty here LOL
