Good morning, ladies.

Catherine, refrigerators and especially freezers sold out around here.  People were pouring in at estate sales looking for appliances to buy.  My stepsister kept texting me asking to let her know if we came across any.  It was crazy.

Catherine, Honey is such a sweetie-pie!!!

Jayne, I am so glad you got out for some fresh air and some new craft goodies!!!  Take it easy, don’t wear yourself out.

Shelly, enjoy your new Distress inks!  I just ordered some more Lindy’s sparkling sprays, oh no, more stuff!

Ann, you are an incredible grandma trooper!

Good morning all!

Catherine, Honey is sooooo cute!

Jan, hopefully, now that you have the 3 bad things out of the way, 3 really good things are up next!!!

Ann, I totally understand, having 7 granddaughters! LOL It gets much easier as they get older! I hope you got to sleep in today.

Hi Jayne, thanks for the birthday stamps! Whooo Hoo! Can't wait to play. You'd better pace yourself so you don't get too worn out. Hugs.

I've gotten a stack of birthday cards in the mail but I am waiting until my day to open them! Thanks ladies! I can't wait to see them...I keep walking by the cards and am so tempted to open them, but so far I'm resisting.

The Main Street Days was good, but not near as many people went as did last year. The "Art League" was at one end of the street and we were at the other end with all the food and music vendors. I tried to get into the area with the artists, but they are kind of a snobby group. LOL Their loss.

I sold about half of what I did last year, but I had one lady who bought 6 cards ask me if I'd come bring them to her office a couple times a month. She said that she and several ladies there would love to buy them. Many people asked if I sold them at any shops in town, but I said no the cost is too high to put them in a shop. I did get an order for 20 Christmas cards. It was a fun day any way. My friend sold crafts at a table next to me, so we played Mahjong when it was slow.

Well, I'd better get going...I was dead tired last night and went to be early and slept over 9 hours! I have to put things away so that I can craft again.

Oh yes, to answer Catherine, I mark cards individually from $3 to $5. It's a pain, but I think it's worth it. I also bring along my Misti and a tote full of sentiment stamps. I let the customers choose what verse they'd like inside the card and stamp it for them. They love that.

Morning!!

Gracie, so glad you sold some cards and got an order for holiday cards!!  It's some money to buy new stuff!

Catherine, Honey is just adorable!!

Jayne, hang in there!!  You have a full support group right here!

You said Karen is back creating?  Have to check that out!

I'm a bit sore today and was up five times to use the restroom last night.  Eat late and then had a treat before bed since I was dragging and that wasn't good since then I kept getting up. Live and learn!  LOL!

Off to check what I missed and eat breakfast/lunch, moving slow today!  And it is cold, 40 degrees!

Good morning! I was missing yesterday, sorry. Sorry to miss those of you who were on Zoom. I had an easy day - took a nap, that felt good! I did get to make a couple of cards. First time inking that stamp set up. I just uploaded both of them.

Thank you, ladies, we definitely think Honey is adorable. She seems to be doing better too, thankfully.

Jayne, I'm glad your appointment is Tuesday. You are in my prayers!

I had no idea that there was a run on refrigerators and freezers. That is amazing to me!

It sounds like you had a good craft fair, Gracie. I'm so glad! And what a great connection to have someone request that you come to their office regularly. That is fabulous! I took my Misti and some sentiments with me this year too.

I guess I need to get busy with chores - even though I want to stamp.

Gracie well done with your craft fair, great that you had an order too.

We’ve been busy this weekend, we were sat in bed yesterday morning drinking our tea at 8am when the delivery driver rang to say they would be arriving in fifteen minutes, you’ve never seen us move so fast, luckily we’d emptied the fridge and moved the frozen food Into the spare freezer, by 8.30 they had taken the old freezer and put the new one in place and were gone. I said to steve we’ve spent all that money and it’s looks exactly the same LoL
We’ve been busy painting the arbor, I went on the roof this morning to put some sealant on it, hopefully it will stop the leaks, I will try to put the photo on steve took.

Ann no wonder you were exhausted, our GSs are older now so it’s not quite so bad although the youngest is four and he never sits still,

I agree with the others Jan, I wouldn’t get up there..well maybe I would but not to paint lol.  I leave that stuff to DH or we employ someone..slack I know. I’m impressed.

Ann, I loved to hear how it went with your poppets.  I could picture it all.  You are amazing.

Gracie, whoohoo..sales woman extraordinaire. Yay to a Xmas card order and how lovely that someone asked you to go to their office with your cards. I loved your extra touch stamping the sentiments for them. I could just picture you near the food stalls...I would do nothing but eat all day lol.

Today is chores day but it will just be a lick and polish. It could be left but I’m a creature of habit. I had fun yesterday getting inky and trying out different things. I hope to continue later..will see how the day pans out.

I woke thinking  I’d missed Catherine’s birthday..phew...had to check the calendar twice and finally saw I’m not late.

Today is going to be a good day. Waving to you all

Good for you, Jan, getting up there and painting. It wouldn't be my first choice, for sure.

I played with the sushi stamp set today and made a couple of cards. I haven't taken photos and uploaded yet. Jayne, on one of them, I used some of the beautiful paper you sent me from Japan. Hopefully, I'll upload them tomorrow. DD2 loves that I finally used some of that paper as I've been hoarding it.

Good morning!

Finally, some beautiful weather for this week.  Frost on the windows today, but up to 65!  Yay!

And yay, Jayne, that you had a good day!!!  Don’t overdo, but I’m SO glad to see you are feeling better.  Do you have an appointment tomorrow with a doctor, did you say?

I’ve not made any cards recently.  I’ve gotten hooked on this junk journal thing, and have papers scattered all over the table and floor.  When DH comes in to talk he says he feels like he’s walking through a minefield, lol.

Oh my, Jayne, I have an order from Scrapbook.com coming today.  It wasn’t Simon Says Stamp, like I thought.  Too many craft sites I’ve been browsing!  I have some Dylusions sprays colors that I’ve never seen in the local stores, and a few more of the Lindy’s Sprays, because I love the way the colors turn out.  DH bought me an over-the-door shelving unit usually used for spices so I could put my bottles in there instead of all over my table, and after he set it up for me, I said oh look!  More room for stuff.  He walked out moaning and holding his head, lol.

Good morning! Cool, 49, then up to 79.the rest of the week high 80s.. will be 89 Sat, so still Summery. But , I sure have enjoyed  our cooler days.

How was everyone’s weekend?  I hoped you got rested up, Yesterday, Ann from having your grands.
Katherine, I look forward to seeing your sushi cards.
Jayne, it is nice you seem to be feeling better.  Still praying for you.
Gracie congratulations on the sales and orders at the craft show.
Jan, I had to show my DH the photo of you “painting the roof”, because that is one of his favorite sayings.  He is always saying he did everything but “paint the roof”, or something simalar.  The grands will even ask him did you paint the roof?  Just a funny joke around here.  It looses something when I am  trying to explain it!
I am glad you survived it and didn’t fall off, Jan!  What a job!

Kandie, are you enjoying your beautiful craft room?

Kathy, you sure get a lot done, as far as crafting, even with your craft items spread throughout two rooms!  You do well!

I know several of you do not have designated craft rooms, but doesn’t really matter; you find a way to make great creations.  Just goes to show you we are crafters, no matter what the circumstances are!

Have a great day!  I am moving slow, and DH has already done his exercises and is ready for our walk!

Happy Monday.  Woke up to frost this morning.  This weekend, I played with making some mixed media backgrounds.  Started a card, but can't decide how to finish it yet, so it is sitting.

Wishing you all a wonderful day.

Good morning all!

Jan, so happy you survived the roof painting. I've helped my hubby shingle roofs before, but I stay way away from the edge. I'm not doing that job any more!
l! Jayne I'm glad you got out and are feeling a bit better. I hope the Dr. can help you tomorrow! Hugs!

I have to run...craft Monday. We are having a sale for the hospital the 23rd. Lots to do.

Have a wonderful Monday! Glad the weather is warming up for many of you!

Good morning! I just uploaded my two cards made with the sushi stamp set. DD2 was so cute, she said, "How much for both of them? I want them both!" She was especially happy that I finally used some of the Japanese paper that Jayne sent and I've been hoarding!

Now I've made at least one card with each of the stamp sets in the Gina K kit that I purchased.

Kandie, that is lovely of your DH to purchase that rack for you and perfect for your sprays.

Sharon, not only do I not have a craft room, I didn't want one. I wanted to be in the living room with the rest of the family. At our rental, I had a little bedroom for my craft room. And yes, it was nice to have but I felt so cut off from the family. The problem with having it in the living room is that I don't necessarily keep it as neat as I should. I try though!

Melody and Ann, we are enjoying cooler mornings - but no frost yet. We do get that here though.

Good for you, Gracie, helping your DH shingle roofs. I stay down on the ground! I, too, would stay away from the edge if I got up there. Enjoy your crafting!

Jan, do you let Steve know your plans a little bit at a time? The arbor sounds lovely.

Well, I need to finish getting ready for work. Chat with you later!

Good morning Ladies. I'm sorry I have not kept up with the chatter this time. I have been busy with a few card orders to fill. Finished the last one yesterday, and only one left to put in the mail. I had one order for 70 cards, one for 15 cards, one for 10 cards, and one for 40. Funny, no one orders for months and then everyone wants them at one time. I'm just glad to move them along so I can continue to buy more. I used to do craft fairs, but then it got really hot, and now with the pandemic, many are cancelled.

I am also behind in commenting, but I pop in here and there. I don't think I'll ever catch up, but I do what I can. Thank you all for the wonderful comments on my cards. Joining this alpha group and SCS is the best decision ever!

Let's see, the last post...craft room...I do have a craft room with its own full bathroom attached. My big problem is that it still has many things that have nothing to do with my crafting, so I run out of space for my things. It is very crowded. And the very worst, is that there is no internet or wi-fi that reaches. My house is stucco and it makes it very difficult to send signals through these cement walls. Wires from one room to the next is also difficult because you have to actually drill holes through cement. My brother is working on it...making a mess...but maybe he will succeed. As it is now, I have to go back and forth from my craft room to the dining room where my computer is set up.

Mom is calling. I'll pop in again later...hopefully...I don't want to miss moving over to a new thread if you ladies move...

Sally we had that problem in our villa, my craft room is on the roof so the signal couldn’t get through the concrete so steve bought me a plug in booster and works perfectly

Catherine we needed to redo our garden as it was tiled etc eighteen years ago when we moved in but I know when everything is painted etc when I want to buy bits and pieces steve will ask why I want pots and plants etc, he hates potted plants and ornaments so I have to introduce these ideas gradually,ha,ha

Thanks for the info Jan. I think my brother is going to run an ethernet cable from my Netgear station to the craft room. He has already drilled a couple of holes and run the cable. He will connect and sync it all tomorrow when he comes. Fingers crossed.

Default Hello

Hi ladies,

Happy Birthday Catherine!  Any special plans today???
My card is late- got mailed late.....  it was done on time.

Sunday, went to hubby's last baseball game- they lost, so games over until he heads for Florida in November. It was pretty cold, so I headed home after the game was over, but was sidetracked to Joann and Michaels....  I bought some fabric and a couple of stamping supplies.

Ann- glad you made it trough the day with all of the babies- my girls better hurry up and have kids while I can still get around if they have babies!  LOL  Did the move get all done?

Jan- be careful up there on the roof- as I have gotten older, I have a little bit of fear of heights- never a problem when younger.

Waving hello to all- daughter on the phone, and I cannot multi task!!!

Shelly

Melody and Ann, we are enjoying cooler mornings - but no frost yet. We do get that here though.

Good for you, Gracie, helping your DH shingle roofs. I stay down on the ground! I, too, would stay away from the edge if I got up there. Enjoy your crafting!

Jan, do you let Steve know your plans a little bit at a time? The arbor sounds lovely.

Well, I need to finish getting ready for work. Chat with you later!

Hi all! Monday, Monday, it has been a Monday. Right now I'm waiting on dinner to finish cooking so thought I'd pop in for a quick check.

No, Kathy, you aren't wrong. Oct. 7 is my birthday. Wednesday - and then I can open the beautiful cards you all have sent. DD2 is quite impressed with the stack of envelopes waiting. I think it is going to be a very quiet birthday this year.

Thanks, Linda, I actually made the sushi cards. DD2 just liked them both very much.

Any hints on the first week's challenge, Ann?

Default Hello

Oh- good Catherine- I had the date down as the 5th, so will correct my list.....but yeah, maybe my card will make it on time!!!

I used to do everything in advance, but seem to enjoy the last minute pressure as of late.  What can I say. (No, I do not really enjoy it).

I am taking cooking classes online, learning alot.  I have been investigating options for adding cream and eggs in recipes.  If they work, it will open up some options for recipes I have not had in ages : )  I am used to NOT having dairy in recipes, so when I serve them to hubby, that is the real test- they may taste OK to me but terrible to him....we'll see.  But, if they are OK, I will be able to make some sauces that are creamy without dairy which would really expand our options.
One of the options for heavy cream is soaking raw cashews and adding filtered water and blending.  Hmmmmm  We'll see.

Waving hello to all again,
Shelly

Shelly, I just made cashew cream for part of our dinner tonight. I roasted broccoli and sweet potatoes in the oven and then had cashew cream to put on top of the veggies. So yummy!

The recipe I use for cashew cream is:
1 c cashews (soaked)
1/2-3/4 c water (depending on how thick you want the cream)
2 cloves garlic
1/2 t sea salt
2 T nutritional yeast
2 T lemon juice
1/2 t onion powder

I blend this all together in my Vitamix and we love it.

Obviously, this is a flavored cashew cream and we love it!

Catherine that sauce sounds tasty, I don’t use much cream only as a treat but I do make sauces using milk and a little butter and flour, mainly parsley sauce with fish, sometimes cheese sauce.

Happy Tuesday. Quick wave as been a looongggg day. One specialist down, 2 to go. Catherine, Kathy, Sharon and anyone else interested and not on WhatsApp or text, some of the ladies will update you. In a nutshell. No further forward yet but they confirmed the narrowing is 70%. Surgery riskier than living with it for now. Need to find out what else is happening.

Have fun. I’m crafting tomorrow..well that’s the plan. Still on a mission and have my WTUI sample to finish.

Hugs

This will make you laugh ladies.....I said to DH that I needed to call into our craft store on the way home today after my appointment. Yesterday whilst searching my stamps I found that I had 2 of the same stamp set...both purchased in the past few weeks. I also had three of the same inks but all had been opened..don’t ask how I did that lol. They took the stamp set back, no problem and I ended up spending the credit and $10 more...lol.  Hopeless.

Morning!!

Too funny, Jayne, about the double and triple craft supplies.  You probably could not find the item and purchased another!  We all do that from time to time!

It's suppose to be a nice week this week weather wise.  In Wisconsin Covid is rising, silly people not taking it seriously.

Off to feed me and the girls.  Athena has been not wanting to eat lately. She is such a picking eater.

Melody, that picture is hilarious. I have never ever watched any reality show, except when Project Runway was on. I just can't handle how people behave. I know it's an escape to watch, just can't get into it.

Wisconsin is in very much trouble with the virus. Green Bay is overwhelmed. My sister who works at a hospital here in SE WI said the north will probably send their patients south. Oh great was her response. Ann, Washington County is not doing any enforcing of the masks, sister Janet went to the Sawmill to pick up some food a few weeks ago, no staff wearing masks. she talked to manager, he said nope, not doing that. End of story.

Jan, you are a brave woman. I'm not that great with heights and balance.

Jayne, it sounds like you're doing what you can with what's going on. Holy cow, what a lot at once. But you sound upbeat and that's great. I often can't find something and will buy another. a few years ago, my daughter said to me 'why don't you just use what you have?' I looked at her like she had grown two more eyes. What?????? They just don't understand.

Catherine, I LOVE your sushi and miso cards. so bright and happy. and your sauce recipe sounds delightful. I love nuts in all forms. And happy birthday tomorrow!

Gracie, the bonus of getting that order and selling to her monthly made that show worthwhile. Well done! I just took a few cards up to the new gallery in town, we'll see. Not holding my breath.

Ann, you are a brave Grandma. My two wear me out and I don't see them very often. I'm hoping to go to LaCrosse a week from this Friday, unless they tell me not to come. Hard to know what to do with the virus so bad in our part of the world.

Stay well everyone. Happy creating!

Jayne, when I am under stress, I do things and forget I did them. Maybe that explains your double purchases. Totally understandable. I thought my demo friend had ordered a second set of punches that she already had but it turns out I must have used another class members punches!
