Morning. We’ve arrived in Sydney and lost 3 hours due to the time difference. We had about 20 mins sleep on the flight. Waiting for out transfer to the ship.

Kathy I’ll have the cat please...after Sharon.
Sharon I wish you were on the cruise too.

Have fun ladies and keep the snow your way lol.

8 inches on top of my car. DH tried to snowblow, but the thing got clogged, so he ended up shoveling. I brushed off my car, then shoveled the sidewalk in front of the house, and as I went along, I had to pull marigolds that were spread out over the walk. I'm glad they have really shallow roots.

Its nearly 70° outside here. But raining heavily and calling for high winds, and tornado watch. Got an alert email from our power company about the high winds and possible power outages!

Aloha Sistahs!!!
Just a quick popping in for tea!!! Guess I'll go with the doggie too or our babies would not talk to me lol ....would love a set of the long neck fella for my cousin she a addic of those!!

I read bits and pieces of the chatter but like Sis Catherine I can't remember all just here and there
I use to use i to discovered that 6000 glue long ago when I use to make earring . Yeps it sure stinks but holds well . They also have a spray which i got and found it's not as strong holding as the tube. It didn't work well on the project of tacking and holding the fabric of the ceiling on the roof of our van when its started coming out and drooping.

Hi everyone! Are you in full receiving trick-or-treaters mode? They haven't started here.

Yikes, Kathy, possible power outages for you? I can definitely relate!

Vickster, we always planted marigolds with our tomato plants to keep the bugs away from the tomatoes. It worked like a charm.

Goodness, Ann and Melody, that seems like quite a bit of snow to me...especially this early.

Jayne, enjoy your fabulous trip. It sounds marvelous!

Be careful, Gracie, rubbing in your wonderful weather...naughty, naughty!

Sis Catherine I hear tomato plants are always good in keeping bugs or mosquitoes away.
But I seriously anything works on the Hawaii beasts lol
Mint or pepermint suppose to ward off mices Hahahaha what a hoax that is . I brought a big plant once and those lil boogers eat it deep down to the roots ROFLMBO! Same with anything glittery or foil , the reflection and shine suppose to scare them off hahaha for Hawaii critters it's a myth !! Lol
I'm starting to wonder if these critters are let out experiment from UH science labs!! Lol after all they did create the flow in the da to green mices!! There was even rumors that they lost a bionic roach !! ROFLMBO. Honestly I prefer the ole Hawaiian stories then Those of this generation and day and age hahahaha

I don't think tomato plants keep bugs or mosquitoes away. At least that hasn't been our experience. Before we planted marigolds in with our tomato plants, we had a problem with a tomato worm but after we added the marigolds, no more problems with a tomato worm. Yay! A win without pesticides.

It sounds like your Hawaiian bugs are too smart!

Wow, everyone, you sure created a lot of beautiful cards for the alphabet challenge that I had to catch up on commenting on!

I wasn't going to do today's tutorial, but you know I love them so I decided to figure out what to do. And it turned out much nicer than I had imagined!

I'm still Loving my new phone, but trying to figure things out yet! I have only had to charge it about every five days! If I charge it tomorrow, it will only be the second time since we got them!

As for tomatoes, mom had a bumper crop near her flower bed but not so great in the garden! She has lots of marigolds near that bumper crop so maybe that is why they grew so beautifully there!

I don't really know if they keep bugs away, but I'll for sure have to try them with tomatoes next time I plant those - Thanks, Catherine.

I do know, however, that lavender is a great deterrent for spiders. This year I didn't have lavender, 'cause it died over the winter again. Lots more spiders in the house this fall. So next year there will be lavender here again.

Catherine, you're right...I'm so bad teasing Ann! My naughtiness was rewarded with no cell phone or internet service since 5:45 pm. Just got it back now. LOL

Kathy those glass balls decorations are gorgeous!

Hi Sis Vicki, hoping your headaches go away soon!

HI Melody, I never knew that about lavender.

Ann, hoping the snow disappears overnight! It is way too early for that nonsense.

Good Morning,

frosty over here, but no snow.

Marigolds are a great way to keep your tomatoes and Peppers healthy.

Eucalypthus helps if you have lots of Mosquitoes, they dont like the smell.

Cleaning and cooking are waiting for me, so I better get started. The Weekend is just around the corner.

Good morning, ladies. We had around 20 trick or treaters. I’d say at least a third were high schoolers with pillowcases. It was a miserable night, sleeting and windy. Dusty wore herself out barking, lol. She sure slept well last night! I didn’t; the cold and dampness got into my bones and made them ache. This morning it is 26 degrees with wind chill at 18! The weather forecasters say we are having a weather year similar to the 2014-15 season, and are calling for extreme cold and approximately 78 inches of snow, some in November, hardly any in December, and getting most startling in January. Is it next Spring yet?

Its 42° here! That's a 30° temp drop overnight! Kandie, I don't believe those weather people! They have enough trouble predicting tomorrows weather, they sure can't get a whole season right!

We didn't get any trick or treater's. I told little man I'd bring his stuff down Tuesday when I come to watch him. He called DH on Wednesday to wish him happy birthday. DH's birthday is the same as my niece, little mans mom. He was hilarious on the phone. He wanted to know what DH got for his birthday and why! And how do you use it? Etc....LOL

Lol Any Mail I get from you I always make sure to open over my table or one of those soda/beer boxes giggling. But making that card sure made me think of you and the hilarious omg reply from me opening that card with all its sparkles going every which way and to the carpet mostly lol mahalo Fairy Much for the fond memories!!

Mahalos Fairy Much all for the tips for nature ole wives remedy for ridding the nasties!!

Good morning! It is lovely, sunny, and cool outside. California natives would call it cold but I wouldn't and I don't think you would either.

Well, if it isn't one thing, it is another. DH said the Sienna suddenly started running very roughly just as he was almost home last night so, this morning, I got up early to take him to work and DD2 to school. I was hoping to get it in to a garage to check it out, but when I called the one recommended by our former mechanic (who, very sadly, closed his garage), they are booked through NEXT Friday! The power outages put them behind. And, if the repairs cost too much, it isn't worth it to put it into our Sienna. It is from 2000 and has over 300,000 miles on it. Poor thing, we've used it like a work truck and it has done very well for us.

Gracie, I guess that will teach you! Ha, too funny.

Dagmar, it sounds like I need to plant eucalyptus around my house because mosquitoes like me far too much.

Kandie, were your high schoolers with pillowcases at least in costume? I keep seeing posts where people say to not discourage them from extending their childhood. I think I have the opposite opinion with regard to trick or treating. I'm pretty sure that we wouldn't have been caught trick or treating when we were in high school. We had jobs and bought our candy and we still had fun.

I agree with you, Kathy, the weather people (I usually call them weather guessers) are incorrect just as much, if not more, than they are correct it seems.

Vickster, sorry, I have no solutions for you regarding mice/rats. Check out this guy's Youtube channel, he seems to have ideas for mouse/rat control: Shawn Woods - YouTube

Ann, you have your own snowplow?

Hi Catherine! Glad you have power and the weather is nice! It is beautiful here too!

Ann, sure hope the snow doesn't last, but I was checking the weather for when I fly back Wed. to Wis. and see it's in the 20's...Brrrrrrrr! My body will be in shock! Glad I'm only there 4 days. Stay warm!

Hi Kandie, Kathy and Sis! I didn't have any trick or treaters, so now I'll have to eat the Twix bars! LOL Payson has a community Trunk or Treat: FALL FESTIVAL, a free family event provides entertainment, treats, corn maze, photo booth, etc. So most everyone goes to that.

Dagmar, I'll have to plant some eucalyptus around my house too because I hate mosquitoes.

Well, I've procrastinated long enough...I guess I'd better get some laundry and cleaning done since I've been running around all week!

Have a great day!

Snowplow on a tractor!! My son found it for us, a used tractor and he added all the equipment onto it!

My youngest has a big pretty royal blue truck, brand new and he was thinking of getting a plow! Told him not to spend the money on it! Plus his truck is his pride and joy!

We have a plow, chains and weights for our john Deere garden tractor. I just hope DH gets them on before snow. Last year we had snow and it was a deep one. I cried that night worrying about everyone getting home safely, and how would they get I to the driveway. I think I will do a little nudging to get it done Sunday. He goes to the cabin tonight.

Happy Mail! Thank you Shirl & Dagmar for the beautiful cards! Love them, I think I will celebrate in November, too! LOL. Fun to get mail from Germany!

Getting excited about Falladay Fest! I will be at a scrap retreat part of the time, so will have to take card making supplies with me besides scrapping items! Are you all planning to play? I know Kathy & Ann are. Ann are you a hostess? Oh, and I think VSN is in the middle of it, too. So much fun being cooked up for us!

Gracie, is that weather being in the 20s the day time temps or night time? I ask because I still keep an eye on the weather at my home town in Oregon. They have been having overnight lows in the teens. I have friends still there who aren't happy with how cold it has gotten so quickly.

Kathy and Ann, I'm glad you both have snowplow attachments for your tractors. Sounds like a much needed item in your area. There was a point we could have used that even here last winter. But just one evening.

My poor DD1, she had to get up in the 2 am hour in order to be ready and at work at 4:00 am. Since we are down a vehicle, my SIL is going to drop DH off at DD1's Starbucks so he can drive her home. She is concerned that she'll be too tired.

Down a vehicle is quite the challenge - especially when the garage can't get it in before next Friday! Maybe DH can fix it this weekend but it may be a bigger job than he wants to take on.

This is hilarious! I was craving chocolate, but nothing in the house. Then there's a knock on my door. I'm home alone, so I peeked out the door and its my niece. She hands me a bag of Reese's peanut butter cups and says she is reverse trick or treating! Yum!

That is so cool, Kathy! And perfect timing!

I just got off the phone with DD1. She and DH are on their way home now. She was at the store for 13 hours today -- overtime headed her way! She is excited about working the holidays there. They are hoping to keep the drive through open overnight....sounds exhausting to me!

Tomorrow is card class day! I'm in bed now. DH is at the cabin, but I have his side of the electric blanket turned on anyway in case I get on his side. His is on 2 and mine is on 9! I will turn mine down after while, otherwise I will wake up in a sweat. Its cold tonight and I haven't turned my heat on yet.

Good morning and happy Saturday. Dusty got us up at 6:45 to go out. Now she’s asleep and we are yawning and drinking our coffee and watching the morning news!

The Saturday newscaster is a former English professor and he has a talent for poems. He does a series of jingles every Saturday called The Weather Could Be Verse. I tried to find today’s online but I didn’t have any luck. They are always hilarious!

The teens who came to our door with their pillowcases always were in costume. One had a mask that glowed; it was very cool. And they were always polite. I mentioned it was such a rotten night for them to be out and one replied that it was always a good time for candy, lol.

I have a headache this morning. It was a tiring day yesterday and when I finally sat down, my eyelids wouldn’t stay open.

Dusty just growled in her sleep!

Too soon for snow, all you Wisconsin friends! Is it still on the ground? No one in our family has a truck plow, but DH’s DS2 is the head of the street department, so our street stays plowed, and DH has a small plow for the driveway.

We had sleet. Our Wandering Jew outdoor plants, nearly three feet long, were bit by the frost Thursday night. We have no place to bring them inside. The Boston ferns are still going strong.

We don’t know what we’ll do today. I received my crochet shrug yarn kit and directions, so I may start that project. Our college football team - who dropped 8 places in the rankings after their lousy performance last week - play at 2:30 today, so at least it’s an early game. It was a late one last weekend and I was so frustrated with them I got tired of snarling at the tv and just went to bed, lol.

What does everyone have planned for today?

Card class day. I had a painful night. It has to be something pinched because once I'm up, the pain eases. Its 30° outside and 58° inside. I need to clean my heaters out so I can turn them on. We are on budget billing with the electric company. I like that because then I know what my bill will be each month and they are pretty good at budgeting. They evaluate every three months so it can go up or down then. This is the balance out month. If we are under budget, they owe us. If we end up over, we owe them and they will stretch that overage over four months if you want. Most times we are under, but if we are over, I usually tell them we will pay the full overage so we have a clean slate for the new budget year. It looks like close to a break even year this year.

Gotta go. I may need to defrost my windshield before I leave.

Good morning, Kandie, and everyone! Kathy, the reverse trick or treat was great!
What am I doing today.mmi want to get me nails done. It is time to go pick up wjjatnwe have left from the garage sale, but we don’t find out what our store credit will be until Tuesday. I went on the half price last day yesterday and there was so much left! It isn’t that the sale wasn’t successful, it I was just that there was so much stuff. I bet there were 1000 sets of Su! stamp sets, alone, both wood mounted and the other kind. I found a two piece Slam Dunk, unmounted kind. Both were there. In fact I had picked up the wood set until I found the other! $1.50. A basketball! I needed that over a week ago for our grandson. Oh, well, I will be ready next time! That is the only stamp set I bought. Saw several of mine still there. I got a wood cubical organizer that turns on its base all the way around for $3.00. It has a ribbon place on one side and drawer, a magnet sheet on one side, drawers and cubby holes on one side. The last side has hooks like for tape and scissors. It is so cute. I already have it full! I fall for things like that every time! LOL
Anyway, hoping that I don’t have to bring too much back! I will just save it for the next one! I did notice that a couple of the big things I took over were gone. That is good.
Saw Pat over there with a friend. They were getting good deals, too! Too bad you all couldn’t have been there for the great deals. I mean some stamp sets were half of $3 & $4! I guess we all have so many!
Kandie, I hope your team wins. Our college basketball team plays their first game of the season Tuesday. Got to get more tea!

Morning!

That sounds like a fun sale, Sharon! I don't think I can house any more stamp sets! I have enough! That said there is always one more cute one that says it needs me!!

Kandie, sorry you have a headache! This weather is horrible! It's 34 here right now and the snow is melting but still plenty on the grassy areas.

Youngest son is still coughing and came home last night feeling worse! Told him to go to the doctor but all he said is that it would cost him at least $500 to go!

Our insurance really sucks in the U.S. We pay so much for it and don't get much back!

I'm finishing laundry this morning and hoping to finish a project for Falliday Fest as a sample, if it turns out!!

Have a great Saturday everyone!
