Hi ladies! checking in. Planning to go to a fund raiser crop this weekend at the local Salvation Army. Friday evening and all day Saturday. Planning to work on cards for swaps that I've committed to for the next few months. I know this summer will be super busy for the BF and I so if I can work ahead and have cards ready to mail I will be a happy camper.
Hi everyone. Can’t sleep and after listening to the radio and hubby snore for over an hour I’ve resorted to my iPad lol. It’s going to be a long day and in an hour or so I’m sure we will be heading off for our morning walk, which we haven’t done all week. Slack. Maybe not again today.
We had a very large uninvited bug come into our bedroom..yuk, yuk, yuk. It happens once every 10 years lol. The heat and aircon brings them in. Why it had to find it’s way into our bedroom I don’t know. Now all I want to do is shower. I’m trying to take my mind off it lol and it’s now long gone.

We took our GS out after Kindergarten, we attempted the park for ten minutes before we gave up, it was so windy and started to rain, we ran to the cafe for tea and scones instead.
Tea and scones sounds like a better alternative. Although I did go on a 1/2 hour walk in the wind yesterday at -6 C degrees. The sun was shining, so that made all the difference. I managed to create 2 double dutch fold cards this week. Haven't hhad time to post them yet. They will be for male birthdays in April. Now I need to get busy to meet my commitment of 5 Christmas cards for this month.

I have been crafting this arvo and had such fun. I plan to do the same tomorrow for at least half of the day. Jan I’m going to try and make a journal cover and signature if I get that far lol. First I have another LO to do.

We’ve been to the park for two hours, jack met a friend so we couldn’t get him out!
It was windy and cold so grandad decided to take us for fish and chips, there’s a pub with a children’s room, so we ordered jack chips and we were going to give him some of our fish, when he saw my dinner he didn’t want his plate of chips! We shared it and he ate lots of the fish in batter but no chips!
I bought grandad a bounty bar but jack decided he would share that too instead of his jelly sweets, he’s been as good as gold all day.
I am a dipsy doodle today. Trying to do my taxes and had to give up!
Grumpy is busy as the company Sweet pea works with is moving location this weekend.
On a funny note. My friend got a call that there was a problem with her PayPal account and it would cost money to fix her computer! She laughed and hung up!!
Oh.. She doesn't know what PayPal is and she doesn't have a computer!
Jan, our DGS’s favourite dish is fish and chips, especially the fish. He also loves veggies lol. He’s tiny but healthy.
Lynn, so funny about your friends PayPal experience. We get those and hang up. What a coincidence. I watched Ali Edwards Pieces of Me whilst having brekkie. Love CZ’s page. I’m currently planning another LO. I’m not a CAS person so mine are very cluttered lol.
I’ve been coffee dyeing papers. Our kitchen smells heavenly and hubby thinks I’ve lost the plot lol. I am kicking myself though as I threw out over the years accounting and ledger papers and all sorts of great pages I could be using in my Traveller notebooks and junk journals. Now I will have to try and buy some..so annoyed with myself. I shall ask friends first if they have any old papers stashed away they don’t want.

Sat on the docks waiting to board, had Sunday lunch at the restaurant nearby, love being with the family but it’s nice to be going home to some sunshine and warm weather, it’s still windy and cold still
Just got to our cabin, it’s 10.40pm, leaving at 11pm, wiped everything down with detol wipes just in case, bought all our own food too, not taking any chances of catching anything if it can be helped, Steve’s worried I’m going become obsessed LOL
Safe travels Jan and I don’t blame you for wiping everything down. We heard there’s been a second case of the virus in Mallorca. Some Italian towns are also closing down. We are wondering whether we will be going to ghost villages. It’s a constant worry and I will be doing what you do.
I don’t think there will be any craft for me for a couple of days. Got lots on today and tomorrow. Have fun everyone.

Jayne, I think unless there’s a problem in that area things seem to be going on as normal but I will know more once we get home, it’s pretty worrying, Austria has stopped trains going into the country from Italy now!
We are at the docks in Roscoff, they change the crew here, just going to have a shower while we are still as they’ve just announce the ship might roll a bit so be careful, I always imagine all the cars rolling about and when we go down they will all be in a pile at one end, ha,ha, they put chocks under the wheels and if it’s bad they have chains too, hope it won’t be that bad.
Just made the tea and we have sausage and boiled egg sandwiches for breakfast, Steve cooked them at our sons yesterday, we have sliced beef, ham, cheese and lots of goodies so we won’t starve! LOL
Jan just heard about Austria. We can’t see how it’s going to improve until there’s a vaccine. It just seems to be escalating. There’s a lot now in South Korea too. I think we are just worried we will get somewhere and not be able to get in to see things. It’s such a long way to go and expensive to not do what we want. Tricky. Another week..Lol

Jayne can you google some of places like the Alhambra palace to check they are open, I think they will be myself, no one in England seems to be bothered, I worry about our son going into London on the train and the underground.
It’s hard to know what to do, will you loose your money on flights etc if you cancel?
Hi Jan, there’s nothing to indicate places will be closed in Spain...yet...but we still have 2 months and anything could happen. We will lose money. We have 3 accommodation bookings that are non refundable and our flights, although we could move those and just pay the admin charges. It’s the flight that worries me the most as that’s where I usually pick things up from. It’s tricky. We have decided to wait two more weeks lol. We still have time as most bookings won’t take more money until end April.

Toronto has pulled out all the stops with this virus. They are taking a very cautious approach. There is a lot of news from the Chinese community that people are NOT coming to their stores just in case. I guess they are taking all the lessons learned from SARS and trying to contain it early.
Lynn, what did you mean that you are still in the same boat. Do you still have vertigo?
I was better, but am having a relapse this week. Not quite as bad as 2 weeks ago, but unpleasnt anyway. Especially when my sister-in-law expects me to puck up groceries (which I managed today) and drive her to the doctor in Guelph. tomorrow.

Kelly, I did my room exactly as you are doing. I took 2 weeks. It’s the best way to go if you can move things out to another room and then move them back in. My room is still in order and I can find things so easily. I just get out what I need to make something, make it, then put everything back. I’m determined to not get back into a messy disorganised space. It makes me happy lol. Good luck with it. You can do it in 3 weeks.

Yep I know of pancake Tuesday and shrove Tuesday and also Ash Wednesday lol. I grew up with those. I didn’t know it was yesterday/today though. Too hot for stew lol.
We had 14mm of rain in 30 mins yesterday. What a storm and thousands of people without power. It came, it stopped and back to heat and humidity we go. Expecting storms all week on and off. I’m staying home and crafting today as my scrapping buddy cancelled as she’s sick and I’m not feeling the best but at least I’m home if I get worse...upset tummy..eek.
I plan to make a card then try my hand at making a journal...I have my cereal box ready lol, and then check my list of what else I have on my craft list to do and have been putting off for months. Loving my new space. I also want to try sewing a pocket for my journal with my new sewing machine. I practiced last week and was sort of straight lol.
Jan, we saw Croatia now has a case and watched sky news and the UK health minister saying he thinks it’s going to be bad in the next few months. We heard on the radio that North America is gearing up for not if, but for when. Milan has closed their main tourist sites and the virus isn’t there. We now think we have two things affecting us....well three really lol.
One we may get it..eek and particularly on the flights, trains, ferries, tourist sites. Two, we may get to Spain and let’s say it gets bad whilst we are there, so we are quarantined and can’t go anywhere or have to stay in our hotel or accommodation, and three we go and all the sites we want to see are closed. We really think the next two weeks will make the decision for us. We will try to move our bookings to next year if we can. It’s a mess but we would rather stay home and be ok here. At least we can quarantine ourselves.
Our friends have 3 trips this year and they say they are going come what may but my friend is very susceptible to chest infections like me and I am worried for her. Travel will always be there..that’s our thoughts. It’s a shame and I think of all those people who would have booked for the carnival in Venice and now can’t go. Better to be safe than sorry is my motto. I so wish they had a vaccine out but it seems to be taking time with this one and I don’t think SARS was as bad as this. We have said if it can’t be contained here...we already have people from China here in quarantine and those on the Diamond Princess who have it......we will stay home, order our food in and see no one lol. It reminds me of Eyam.

We are home, it’s so lovely to be home, in the warm, it was 26c coming through Murcia, I took a photo of the sat nav to send to our son as it’s been 6c in England and freezing winds and then people ask why we live in Spain , LoL
Jayne we have read about a case in Catalonia which is where Barcelona is, I was thinking at least Spain doesn’t have it! They had just come back from Italy!
I think we will stock up on food just in case, we didn’t leave our cabin at all on the boat, we had WIFI and I had a book, when we got on the boat we grabbed our bags and got in the lift quick, no one else was around so we shot up to the cabin and we only spoke to about three people going back to the car, we stopped for breakfast and we were laughing as Steve says he is getting obsessed aboUt touching door handles too, I pulled my sweater sleeve down to push the swing door!, we won’t be going out for meals for a while and Steve hasn’t got a hospital visit until mid March!
Jan you guys are like us....gosh in Catalonia. I think we will be forced to make a decision. Take care

Our supermarket has run out of the hand sanitizers so tomorrow we will look elsewhere, I told steve I hate touching the cart handles now, he said I’m sounding like an old friend of ours who washed her hands so much her skin was flakey and white under ultraviolet lights. Then he was laughing about touching money as they are cleaning notes in china I think it was as we had just been to the bam!
Our neighbour came around to sort out our boiler again, he re did the pipes while we were away but when we switched the water on last night water poured out of one pipe, Steve managed to isolate the boiler, this morning steve turned the water on while we washed etc then turned it off when we went shopping, our neighbour came around while we were out but he couldn’t test it without the water on!, luckily Steve managed to find some flexible pipes in England and they fit and no leaks, thank goodness as his has been going on since last December off and on.
Jan sorry to hear of your problem with the pipes and water. Hope it’s fixed now. I worry about money handling and also touching the trolleys in the supermarkets. Gosh I’m a worry wart but my hubby is more anal than me with hygiene lol.

Jayne, all good on the boiler front, Steve had to go out and check after our shower!!
Spent half an hour playing in my craft room, I found some netting, it’s orange! I’ve had it for years as it came from a bouquet of flowers our son send me, ive glued it to the cardboard front and back I’ve cut for my journal, I hen sprinkled seed beads on the top, I’ve had those for years too! Today I will paint it and hope it turns out ok.
Steve has a dentist appointment, he broke a tooth eating Rice Crispies of all things with our GS, just hope they can fill it else he has to stop his blood thinners .
Jan....Ouch..breaking a tooth isn’t good. Glad you got your boiler fixed.
Wow you are good starting your journal. Now I want to go and start mine. I have my cereal box cut and that’s as far as I’ve got. The netting and seed beads sound fun and I bet will look good when sprayed. You’ve motivated me to get cracking with mine. I did cards again instead..as if I need more cards lol but I woke with a headache and just didn’t have the head for anything tricky today. It’s been a very slow moving day lol.
Tomorrow I’m onto that journal. Can’t wait to see yours. Moon I did some more paper dyeing..I used tea this time. They’ve come out so good. Hubby thinks I’m going mad and papers drying on towels all over the kitchen lol so it wasn’t a wasted day lol

Just painted it black but it looked a mess but then a dabbed some turquoise blue on it, still wasn’t happy but now I’ve rubbed silver wax over it and I’m fairly pleased,
I had to come down, Steve shouted me as he thought his new chair had arrived, it was the Police, scared me, anyway a villa at the back of us is being done up, the Germans who have a villa behind us have taken out a denuncia , meaning they are trying to stop the builder, he’s done a lovely job of it, very modern, he’s been at it almost a year but the police wanted to look over our wall! I asked if we had a problem and he said no, no, thank goodness, after last year when we were away and didn’t receive an additional property tax bill and they threatened to take our old car!
What interesting events going on since you got home, Jan! Police? Rice Crispies? Pipes?

Hi Sharon, good to see you, I did t see you on T day, I presume it’s too hard to type, are your splints off completely now?
I’m looking forward to scrapping, I have started cutting the pages with my new die but that’s as far as it got as my ink ran out, I have new ones now so I’m all ready.
Steve has to have two fillings next week, apparently the dentist asked where I was, ha,ha, not saying we are joined at the hip or anything!! His new chair arrived while he was out so he’s now a happy bunny again and is sat in his recliner.
Yes, I have the splints off and now am doing PT. I still can’t drive and I still have the weight restriction, nothing heavier than phone, iPad, or cup. And , yes, my hands / fingers get really sore. Not only do I go to PT 3 x a week ( only twice this week), it I do the stretches 4 x. Day. PT told me to put heat on my hands before I do the stretches , And that really helps. DH is still doing cooking & house keeping. I think another week, and the weight restriction should come off, it PT says three weeks. No one ever tells you the same thing. Also , PT says I won’t be normal again, just a new normal. :(
