Lynn, I know what you mean about loosing stuff and not wanting son to move away.  Our DGN and Son in law live to far away.  Every time we see them, I have to ask them to do a lot of tech stuff.  Over the years, they have helped transfer stuff to new computers and laptops.  Something that I have lost along the way are my fonts for scrapbooking.  I still have some, but not my favorites from the past.

I have stuff they transferred that I can’t get into, also.  So I guess that is gone, too. Old Bible studies, and stuff from my mom’s computer.  Can’t get into that, stories she wrote or her photos.

Lynn and Sharon, computers and technology are like a foreign language to me. My daughter was here at Thanksgiving and helped both Tom and I with our computers. I couldn't find something that I had just typed and my daughter takes my computer and hits 2 keys and says it's right here!  Stacks of paper are my friends...computers are not! LOL

I’m not too bad with computers although any serious stuff I leave to steve but I’ve been using my cricut and it’s so long since I’ve used it I couldn’t remember how to put the paper on the mat, I did it wrong way, twice and ruined two good sheets.

Jan, I used to use my Cricut a lot, but haven't used it for a couple years...it will definitely be a learning experience when I try to use it again. All the upgrades and changes are always a challenge. I laughed when I read that Steve calls your Big Shot, Big Foot! lol

Well I am finally awake and grumpy just left.

The bad news. My TV is to old and too new at the same time for the roku sound bar to work. Boy does Murphy live here.

My computer finally sees my router! I had to connect to the internet to get the driver for my router.. But how am I supposed to connect through my router if it doesn't see it!!!! Grumpy setup WiFi for a bit to get the files I needed. Oh my printer now works after 7 tries.

Oh its trying all right! Lucky I was barefoot or I would have rebooted it with my foot! Lol

We used to have a young man, a bit of a computer geek, worked at the computer shop so every few years when we were off on our three month  trip we would take it down to  him to clean it up, he built me a new one a few years ago but unfortunately he left and we’ve never found him since.

That's a bummer Jan. Tom had a tech guy like that who retired. Hard to find a good, reasonably priced tech person.

Gracie,  Steve’s been talking about buying me a laptop to replace the tower to make more room but until we find somewhere I will manage although I told him it will have to work my printer, scanner and cricut, or I don’t want one.

uuugghh CAT has been yelling at me for hours! I found fonts. I had to copy from my external to my local
extract
open up a file manager window with the fonts
open a windows control panel window for font
drag the font from one window to the next

I think I have used up my remaining brain cell!

oh PSE15 I have the serial number and it is registered but since I did NOT buy directly from Adobe I cannot download it from them! I had to know sometime in the past that I had to make a disk oR backup of the file way back in 2017

if you cannot get the old files to open then they probably belong to an old program you no longer have on that computer.

CAT doesn't like you working so hard Lynn! Ha ha!

Jan, I bought a MacBook Pro laptop 2 years ago with free financing, just paid it off. I do love it.

Funny thing! Back when grumpy was a wee toddler we had the first ever MAC! He used to put coins in there the floppy disks used to go!  I loved the MAC but for me to have a job I had to learn and support windows as they had the market share way back when.

OK so this is so 2020!

The Santa Claus parade is on. They have taken over the promenade at Canada's Wonderland theme park. The cameras are there and the floats go past the camera. There are 2 people on a small stage doing the announcing..6 feet apart. The marching band is marching in place on a field some where else and they are playing wind instruments with masks on!

There are no people on the floats!

Lynn this is a weird year for sure.  Sorry to hear of the increased cases in Ontario.

Sorry I’m not on much lately but we have a lot happening this end..lots of medical appointments. I have to have another Ct scan tomorrow..for the brain this time.  It just goes on and on. Still good job they are finding them...2 more found.  DH says they won’t find much in my head tomorrow..lol.  At least we still have our sense of humour.  Our diary is full of medical appointments..it’s crazy but I guess as you get older some people have lots, others don’t.  We are going with the flow.

Have a wonderful weekend. Thinking of you all and I will keep up with the chat even if I don’t comment. Hugs

Ps..keep sending mojo..I need it.

Sorry, finding what?

Jayne at your next appointment, or on the way to it, look around and pick a color to use on a card. Use that as your starting point.

Grumpy has requested I make this for his lunches

***********
Mini Meat Loaves
This recipe is featured in the 2005 Milk Calendar. Muffin-shaped individual meat loaves bake in a fraction of the time of traditional loaves. A delicious, quick and comforting weeknight meal. Serve with tender-crisp steamed vegetables and mashed potatoes.

* CourseMain Dishes
* Prep. Time15 mins
* Cooking Time20 mins
* Yields6 servings

Ingredients
1/2 cup (125 mL) quick-cooking rolled oats
1 cup (250 mL) Milk
1/2 cup (125 mL) ketchup or
thick tomato sauce
1 tbsp (15 mL) Dijon mustard or
 prepared mustard
2 eggs
1 small onion
1 clove garlic diced
1 1/2 lbs (675 g) lean ground beef
1 tsp (5 mL) salt
1/4 tsp (1 mL) pepper
1/4 cup (60 mL) Canadian Cheddar or
 Canadian Monterey Jack, shredded

Preparation
Preheat oven to 400 °F (200 °C).
In large bowl, combine oats, milk, 1/4 cup (60 mL) of ketchup, mustard and eggs; let stand for 5 min.
 Meanwhile, peel onion and carrot and shred on coarse side of cheese or box grater. Add to milk mixture in bowl. Add beef, salt and pepper to bowl; blend well with a fork. Scoop mixture evenly into 12 cup muffin pan. Flatten tops slightly.
Spread remaining ketchup over tops of muffins. Place muffin pan on a rimmed baking sheet to catch any drips. Bake for 15 min. Sprinkle with cheese; bake for 5 minutes longer or until no longer pink inside and thermometer inserted in centre of one registers at least 160 °F (70 °C).
Remove from pan with a slotted spoon, draining off excess liquid.
Tips
Cooking Tip: Defrost and Reheat on pie plate in 350 °F (180 °C) oven for about 15 minutes or microwave, uncovered on plate on Medium (50 %) power for 2 to 3 min per mini loaf.

Oh I probably took it out. I don't put carrots in when I make it. I also put onion soup in there for flavor.

Let me see if I can find the original

Here is the original. I freeze two together for grumpy

I like meatloaf too.  Lovely photo Lynn, the waves were crashing on our beach yesterday which is unusual as we do t get big tides and usually no waves.

Oh I just had a thought. So I put BBQ sauce on top and the cheese mixed in with the meat. If grumpy doesn't have a place to heat it up he eats it cold. Maybe Kathy's hubby would do the same when he is in the bush?

Of course Lynn. Canada post and delivery services are backing up again with the Christmas rush. So many people ordering on-line.

He has a heater in his tree hut. So he makes grilled ham and cheese on it! LOL   I'll bet he could heat meatloaf too! I bought a muffin pan today! I only had cupcake tins and they are too small.

Muffin pan is perfect.. Just adjust the cooking time. Your hubby can do what grumpy does, put the meatloaves on tin foil and put it on top of the heater.

So I am having one of those days. Just had peanut butter on gluten free rice cakes with banana. Grumpy thinks that is weird. When grumpy was just starting school he had bumps on a log. A piece of celery with peanut butter and raisins on top. Then I remembered that there were two in the class with the same name. Not a common name that year but it is a biblical name. Everyone thinks it's a good name as it already has a nickname except for his paternal grandmother. Seems that in Lithuania it sounds like idiot. Sigh! That was a fight I won.

Sorry. The online version of the recipe has conversions for metric.

Kathy I’m intrigued that your DH lives in a tree do you have any photos?
Steve could tell you multiple ways of heating food, being in the army they would be in the middle of nowhere so would heat food on the engines of the tanks so they could eat as soon as they made camp, he used to spend six weeks every year in suffield  I think it was in Canada

He doesn't live in the tree. He just hunts from it. I'll see if I have a picture. If I don't maybe he has one.
