Finally getting around to posting the pictures I took of the mini albums I made for my niece and nephew's 1st Communion. The Valentine is the one I made for my boyfriend.

The albums will be treasured, Angie.

I finished a real easy card. I let my Cameo do all the work. I'm starting to climb back out of that hole again. I pay myself a quarter for everything I finish on my to-do list ( I have to or nothing would get done around the house; I get sidetracked on the computer real easily). One item on today's list is to do our taxes. I figured that was worth way more than a quarter so paid myself $5.00.

Here's the card I finished: Brumley's Buffalo by grammatroll - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

S2S13I Challenge 'Denim'

S2S13I challenge: February 26, 1829 was the birthdate of Levi Strauss, the clothing designer who created jeans.......which started out as being only work clothing, but now so fashionable, not too many of us haven't worn a pair of Levis! Your challenge this week is to use denim, faux denim or an image of blue jeans on your card. I have made a card, but it's going to take too long to take and upload the photo and I am going skiing right now. So I'll add it later.

jan31 02-25-2013 09:27 AM

Hope you enjoyed your skiing Ina, Joey has just had his first lesson, they are in bear valley, he absolutely loves it.

yellowrose46 02-26-2013 04:23 AM

typing with one hand. on my 4th run yesterday, my ski hit an edge, and my face and left shoulder had a hard collision with the hill. I now have raccoon eyes, and a fractured bone in my shoulder. it was after hours by the time I was released from hospital, so today I have to see my family doc to get an apt with an orthopedic surgeon. i'll keep you up to date when I know more.

jan31 02-26-2013 04:54 AM

Oh Ina I'm so sorry, hope you make a quick recovery, we need you to keep us on the straight and narrow.

grammatroll 02-26-2013 09:13 PM

Oh no, Ina! Wishing you a speedy recovery.

yellowrose46 02-27-2013 04:10 AM

no stamping for me and I need to get ready for a shoe box gathering on march 16. 28 shoe boxes to prepare and I also signed up for 10 atc. I have the atcs 3/4 done.

grammatroll 02-27-2013 06:07 AM

I'd come help you, Ina, but I'm just too far away. You take care of yourself.

Oh, Ina, skiing! Wow! I am impressed! Sorry for your fall. Take care of yourself, and don't get run down trying to do all those shoeboxes and ATCs.

Thinking about you gf.

I think I have an idea for this one!
:)

smadson 02-27-2013 08:12 AM

Can you tell? I got my laptop back. Well, it is a desktop now. I have my laptop hooked up to a tv as a monitor. So nice to have it back!
:)

yellowrose46 02-28-2013 04:52 AM

I am so blessed. I live in a small community of 20 houses, in the country, about 5 miles from town. 4 of my neighbours have offered to help me in any way, and one has brought me cookies, another has blown out my driveway twice already and also shovelled my front step. it is a winter wonderland here....with lots of fresh snow two nights in a row. also, my dd came this way for a meeting, which was cancelled due to weather, and she came and did my dishes while I played with my grandson. slow typing with one hand.

grammatroll 02-28-2013 07:38 AM

Ina, I'm glad you have such nice neighbors.

I have to say, I'm seeing some great results with this challenge. I may not be out of the hole yet, but my checkbook sure is looking good. I'm getting pretty picky about what crafting things I buy. I look at something that catches my eye and ask myself if I just want it or do I NEED it. If I don't need it or know I probably will only use it once, I pass it by. Of course, knowing I'm going to be going to see DD and the granddaughters in 3 months helps. I want to go to Hobby Lobby when I'm there. Hopefully I won't go crazy in there.

smadson 03-01-2013 02:17 PM

Glad You have such nice neighbors Ina. :)
Here is a card for your Denim Challenge. I was thinking of using this pocket image, and then the first VSN challenge was to doodle on our card. So I used the pocket and doodled on it. :)
Here is Pocket Birthday .
:)

auntangie 03-02-2013 05:55 AM

Ina I'm sorry you had an accident. It is so nice that you have good nieghbors.

S2S13J Africa

This week's challenge:
Miriam Makeba (4 March 1932 9 November 2008), nicknamed Mama Africa, was a Grammy Award-winning South African singer and civil rights activist.

Make a card with an African flavour in honour of her birthdate.

grammatroll 03-04-2013 05:08 AM

Good challenge, Ina. How are you doing? Going crazy yet?

yellowrose46 03-04-2013 08:44 AM

I'm doing fine. My neighbours just drove me to the hospital that I was treated at last week. I needed the CD of my x-rays for my surgeon appointment tomorrow. They don't have a digital connection to the hospital I am going to tomorrow, so I had to pick it up....a one hour drive each way. I'm so thankful for my neighbours and friends! Yesterday was a bad pain day, but today I haven't taken any meds yet. I finished the ATCs yesterday but still need to design a shoebox....and the meet is less than two weeks away. My friend MelissaL will help me cut everything out if needed.

jan31 03-04-2013 08:51 AM

Hi Ina, you obviously have good neighbours, hope you go on ok tomorrow.

auntangie 03-04-2013 09:35 AM

So not fair! I have some stamps that would be great for this challenge and they have never seen ink, but I am going to be too crazy busy at work for at least the next 2-3 months to get any stamping time in. Between that and school doubt I will have time, but I have ideas running around my head if I do find time.

smadson 03-04-2013 03:43 PM

I updated my totals in my siggy. I am officially ahead! And that doesn't even count all the cards I made this week-end for VSN! Whew! Feels good.
:)

yellowrose46 03-04-2013 05:34 PM

Way to go Sharon!

ravengirl 03-04-2013 06:39 PM

Good work Sharon! I had grand plans to play along with VSN this weekend and it just didn't happen. I made one card. Totally weak!

smadson 03-04-2013 07:34 PM

Thank you Ina and Toni. Ina , hope all goes well with your appointment with the surgeon. I guess that means you are definitely having surgery. So sorry for all of this.

jan31 03-05-2013 06:54 AM

Will have to update my totals, just spent a hundred pounds on craft but I have some credits to add too but will be well into the red now.
Debbie i know just what you mean about being picky with what you buy, funny how it takes a few years to get to that point!

grammatroll 03-05-2013 07:40 AM

Ina, how did the appointment with the surgeon go?
Sharon, I'm so jealous. I haven't had hardly any time to stamp. I have a bunch of sympathy cards I need to make. I need 2 of them right now and more to make for my ex-boss. I started 10 of them on Sunday but still have to finish the insides. My cousin passed away Sunday morning so I'm sure that's why it's been taking me so long to get them done. I'm not really pleased with them, so probably won't even upload them. Once I finish them, my total will definitely climb towards the top of that hole.

auntangie 03-05-2013 10:06 AM

Sharon congrats on being in the black!

yellowrose46 03-05-2013 12:49 PM

To answer your questions about the surgeon's appointment........I don't need surgery!! What an answer to prayer! I saw the x-ray and there is just a slice broken off at the top lateral part of the bone. It is stable and held down by the muscles, so should heal well. I am starting physio on Thursday. Sooo very much better than I had imagined. I'm still having pain, but now it's not as scary.
Debbie, even if you don't upload your card photos, they still count.....so I'm proud of you! Sorry for the loss of your cousin.

jan31 03-06-2013 04:39 AM

Good news Ina not having to have surgery, pleased to see you are able to post on here, one handed.

yellowrose46 03-06-2013 05:52 AM

The surgeon gave me a different sling....it's just a collar and wrist one, so gives me a bit more mobility. I even finished my ATCs yesterday for the meet we are going to in Buffalo next weekend. Now, I'll try to design a simple card for the shoebox.

grammatroll 03-06-2013 07:45 AM

Ina, I'm glad you don't need surgery. Happy you're more mobile. Just don't overdo it.

S2S13K Challenge....poem by Pauline Johnson

March 10, 1861 was the birthdate of Emily Pauline Johnson, a Canadian native author and poet. She was born in Brantford on the Six Nations Mohawk reservation to a native father and English mother. I don't read much poetry, but I found her poem 'At sunset' to be beautiful and so vividly descriptive and colourful. I have only quoted the first verse, but I think it is enough to inspire many a colourful card!

At Sunset

To-night the west o'er-brims with warmest dyes;
Its chalice overflows
With pools of purple colouring the skies,
Aflood with gold and rose;
And some hot soul seems throbbing close to mine,
As sinks the sun within that world of wine.

grammatroll 03-11-2013 06:23 PM

You come up with some pretty good challenges, Ina. How's the shoulder?

Does anyone here have the SU MDS? I'm thinking of getting it. Any pros or cons? I had the free 30-day trial and didn't get a lot of time to play with it. I know, it's just going to make me slide back in that hole. And I'm so close to getting out of it.
