I got some cards done! I did 6 sympathy cards. Four of them go to my former boss for her stash and I'm keeping 2 of them for mine. I kept them pretty simple.
From The Garden Sympathy - white embossed by grammatroll - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers From The Garden Sympathy - clear embossed by grammatroll - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers I'm done with cards I need for August. Now I can start building up my stash. Or start on my cards for September. Or catch up on Christmas cards. So many choices. |
I've been making cards, just haven't had time to post. The other day I took 3 cards that had been given to me and remade them for the Card Ministry. I won't post them because they are 90% not my work.
I did manage to combine two of this week's challenges to make Three Blues Grace |
This card was a bit of a rush job as I realised it needs to be in the post tomorrow! Not my best effort. My first for August.

I think I finally caught up with editing and uploading cards made so far in August. I did send another 2 birthday cards from my stash of recent challenge cards uploaded previously. I've got 3 more birthday cards, a couple of get well cards, and some cards for my S.S. class to sign for sick or homebound class members.

What a lovely bunch of cards you just posted, Val! Isn't it great to have a stash on hand?

My stash of cards is VERY depleted at this time. You gals are so good to get so many cards done!!!!
I think Debbie needs to come to my house, bring her Silhouette and we'll make cards!!;) I just copied off all the challenges from Flourishes and Vere's blogs for their anniversaries. Hope to have time this weekend to get some challenges completed. Maybe win some prizes?!! Congrats to Sharon for winning one of the DTGD prizes!!! |
Dianne, the images on my sympathy cards aren't digis. I stamped the flower with Versamark. The stamp is a bacground stampe from SU.

Debbie I would certainly drop in on you!!! You could show me that Silhoutte.;) We're going to do some hiking in the parks. I'm a little worried about the bears. I've read it's Grizzlies 6 - hikers 0 for the summer. Since I'm the slowest one in our group, my husband is calling me Bear Snack.:( I think I'd would become a faster walker! LOL With those odds, I'd stay home though!! I sit here giggling though over being called the Bear Snack! |
Hi Vikki Jo!!!! I was so surprised to see a comment from you in my gallery! So nice to see your name in the threads and in the gallery!
Big smile to you!!! :) Sharon |
I made 12 of this Christmas using LulyG's sketch challenge. I am in love with this sketch. I am also caught up with my Christmas cards for CCC12. All the white spaces that show up in the picture are actually closer to very vanilla. Just couldn't get the camera to take true colors.

This is the first year I've had a stash, I usually just make them as I need them, I would love to have a stall at our local fayre but lack the confidence to go for it, not really to make money, can just imagine the comment if I said that to my DH!! I just love crafting and I would get much more use out of the dies and stuff I have.
|
Hey girls!
I'm here to catch up. Brought a head cold back from stamp convention so if the comments don't make sense..... ;-) Can't wait to see what y' all have been up to. |

I like the idea of building up my stash of get well cards so thanks for the challenge, Kelly. But I didn't use the colours you challenged us to use as I was trying to do some of the Dare to Get Dirty challenges. So here's what I came up with:
Love your cards, ladies. I'm working on the retirement guest book today. Ran into a couple glitches with cutting files, but I winning now. I have the covers done. Now for the inside pages. Most of that will involve typing phrases onto different labels. A little more time consuming that I like, but it's well worth it. I want to finish the book tonight if possible so I can help DS move into his new apartment all day tomorrow. I'm kicking myself for procrastinating. When will I learn?
I'm discovering you and I are a lot alike. With that in mind... NEVER :-) There, now you can relax because it's all in the knowing hehe And the book was sooo worth it. |

Debbie, I don't know if you'll ever learn not to procrastinate as I sure haven't. How many late nights have I spent getting something done at the very, very last minute??!
I made two cards for my S.S. ladies last night (late) but am pleased with how they turned out. These are the first cards made with the Stampscapes stamps my dd gave me for my birthday. |

This is for my niece. I'm looking forward to seeing all the pages of your book Debbie, but I won't have time this week as I am being hostess to a Splitcoaster from Australia......Stephanie (tropduck) |

Kelly, I posted thank you for my package in the July thread, but I think you might not have seen it. But I did get it! Thank you so much! My DH was jealous I got a goodie envelope! I had so much fun going thru it and looking at it! I love how you put it all together, the little packs of ribbon, and flowers. It is like Christmas to a crafter! Now I have to start using the goodies! I have been sending cards out of my stash to people at church. I have been so busy with DTGD challenges and now have more pages for VSBN which have to be done a week from today. Hopefully I will get caught up. Does that ever happen?
:) Sharon |

I left everyone love on their beautiful cards! Wasn't the Dare To Get Dirty challenges fun? I wished I could have played more.
I had a great four days of vacation. I did lots of backcountry hiking and I even made it to the top of Inspiration Point in the Tetons. I was the only old, fat, grandma that made it up there!!:D Many started the steep, long climb...but few finished!;) I came back to a very busy week at work so I didn't get back here until today. I just finished all the dirty, stinky, laundry from hiking/camping, cleaned my house, watered all my flowers and mowed. I'm ready to go make cards for the evening!!! Kelly - I'm starting with your challenge! Then I have to make 10 cards for the swap at club. |

Here's my card for Kelley's challenge. Get Well
This was the only card I got done this weekend. The day before my son leaves for college, he suddenly remembers he needs me to cut out tons of for stuff for him with my Cricut. He needs stuff for bulletin boards as he is an RA for a dorm. Yeah, that wasn't fun. |

I hope to get some cards done this week. First I need to finish the laundry and get back into my routines. I've just had a fabulous visit with Stephanie and her family. They spent the weekend here and every minute was busy. I think they packed lots into their brief time here. They attended the Scottish Festival here in Fergus (we got rained on!) They went to the Waterloo Farmer's market, took a horse drawn carriage ride through the maple sugar bush that Stephanie went to when she was in school. Shopping at the outlet mall, a walking tour of the Mennonite town of St. Jacobs, attending my church on Sunday and a walk through the Elora Gorge Park where we watched people taking tube rides through the rapids of the Grand River. Stephanie, her husband and her son are so personable and easy to talk to and I feel I have made friends for life (even if I never see them again). They are wonderful Christians....kind, gentle, generous, smart, good looking, well travelled, and I loved hearing their Aussie accent!

Goodness was it time for Stephanie and her family to visit already? Can't wait to hear about it. I hope someone took pics!
Saturday, we went to the outdoor Farmer's Market. They stayed in that area to go for a horse drawn buggy ride through the maple sugar bush, and do some outlet mall shopping and also visit St. Jacobs (a Mennonite town) while I went to a family reunion (a two hour drive away). On Sunday, after church, we went to Elora Gorge Park for a hike and saw lots of people tubing down the river. Then they packed up and I drove them back to Toronto. Boy was my house ever lonesome and quiet the next day! I just enjoyed their visit so much! I did take photos, but I did not format them for uploading to computer and I have slow dial up connection, so I can't upload them. I'll have to get them developed and scan them. |
