Dad fractured a small bone in his neck. They are transporting him to Geisinger to see a specialist. Mom said they told her that if he coughed or jerked his neck it could cut off his breathing so he needs to see a neurologist. That hospital is in Danville PA. Only about 25 minutes from home so about the same distance as this hospital is from home only we are in the middle between both hospitals.

I'm worried now that I know he does have a fracture because I don't see how Mom's going to be able to care for him at home anymore. Unless they send caretakers to the house. The two people on the ambulance crew could barely get him on to their gurney. Can you imagine how hard it would be for a short little woman who probably weighs about 100 lb soaking wet?

If you Google Geisinger you will probably get better pictures but this is the back entrance where the ER is. It's a teaching hospital and grows every year.

So sorry to hear about your Dad falling Kathy. Prayers for all.

Jean, I use a crustless pumpkin pie recipe too. I think it is from Taste of Home. I tried various crustless ones that were not that great, but this one is. Course we do used whipped cream on it, lol.

Last night I dreampt I went to Weight Watchers, lol.

Catherine google Mary Berry’s proper custard, should explain better.

jayne, I also have about twenty pots of embossing powders, I do like them but don’t use them enough, I’m not keen on the distress ones, I like the clear ones and I use them more than any of them.

just had the cutest photo of our GS, nearly five, he went to the skate park with his dad after school, he takes his scooter, it’s for big boys as he calls them but he asked if he could have a turn so they all waited while he went around the course,.

20c today at 11am

Jayne, I'm not a fan of embossing either.

Jan, your GS sounds adorable.

Kathy sorry to hear of your dad’s fall and hope he heals quickly and you are offered care help.

Jean, glad your second vaccine went well. I think the problem with embossing for me is that it never comes out right and although it’s messy, which I like, I just can’t be bothered with it. I don’t know why I bought all of the colours. The only one I like to see is clear or white and when I do white it comes out thick and messy lol....so I steer away from it. I’d rather plonk paints and inks down lol. I was thinking yesterday of all the things I don’t use...I rarely use EFs. Love stencils and dies, particularly butterflies. Lots and lots of unused stash in my room. I think we need a challenge where we stashbust lol.

Catherine, yes like the custard in eclairs although not usually as thick...but can be.

Shirl, did you lose weight?...lol. I once dreamt I won lotto...$30m...I could see myself holding the cheque.

our weather has changed again..we’ve gone from autumn back to summer.

Well I had better move...I have to somewhere in less than an hour. Happy St Patrick’s Day

Kathy, so sorry to hear about your dad. I hope you can get in-home care for your parents. DH's dad just got into an assisted living apartment where he gets his meals and meds. He has his own furniture there and seems to really like it. He'll be 95 in May and lived in his own home until now. He has fallen a couple times and has bone cancer, but his mind is very good.

Hi Jayne, Happy St. Patrick's day! Hope you had a fun day.

Catherine, it's been cold at night here and we did have some snow on and off the last couple of days. It's suppose to get back into the 60's by Friday. Tonight temps are dropping into the 20's. Brrrr!

Jan, how sweet that your GS got to ride his scooter at the park. So nice that the older boys just waited and let him ride!

Ann, glad you've been able to spend time with the grandkids.

I'm feeling better today. I think the erratic weather lately has caused my headaches and my sinuses to act up.

I hope everyone has a good evening or I should say night...I forgot about daylight savings time, so I'm 2 hours behind the midwest now. It's only 8:20 pm but 10:20 pm back in Wisconsin. Arizona doesn't change time.

so strange where our dreams take us. Two nights ago I had nightmares that woke me and I had to get up and go out in the living room while I calmed down. Then last night I dreamed there was blue water in my toilet! LOL

Hi Gracie, sorry to hear that you've had headaches. The weather does bring on bad sinusitis. Keep spraying...I find that helps.

We don't celebrate St Patrick's Day but a lot of people do as we have a lot of Irish immigrants/descendents. I met a friend and we went for brunch and then shoe shopping. We both love shoes and bought some sandals in the sale. I came home and have thrown out 5 pairs of shoes that I no longer wear or don't like. I hold onto things long past their expired date LOL.

I also popped into the local craft store...as you do...they rang me yesterday to say that a couple of stamp sets that stores here can't get had come in. They found one of their suppliers could get them for me. I bought some more Dylusion paints and they took back the inks I had doubles of. Their assistant told me that they are having a sale next week so I put back some stickles I had in my basket and will wait for the 20% off. Every bit helps.

I really should be crafting but my mojo is down and my energy levels. I feel like taking a nannie nap LOL. Ok.....I'm going to push myself off this chair and go and put my new goodies away and try and do my V card.

Kathy, I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad, I hope you all get some help while he recovers.

Jayne I have sandals that I never wear, the ones that go through the toe, I can wear those but some just don't soften up, I need to have a clear out. wonder what toilet dreams mean, Ha,ha,

I didn't sleep well last night and then woke up with indigestion, took a pill and had to walk around for half an hour until it went, I was cold so I crept into bed, I woke Steve up when he felt my cold body snuggling up to him, LOL it was 6.30am so I just laid still to get warm.

I’m so sorry to hear this....prayers. My dad was a big guy and he made me so nervous b/c he was so unstable some days with all his heart and lung issues. He did have a walker and in the end had a scooter type chair to get himself around better. Poor buy. I miss him dearly.

Good morning. Most of that snow we got a couple days ago is all gone.

VSN sneak peaks are up.

Thanks Melody! Is VSN this weekend? We have company coming from Wisconsin on Friday for the weekend. I won't be able to play then! Shoot!

Toilet dreams...I don't think I've ever had them. Mine are mostly very weird with a mix of people who don't even know each other.

Jan, my DH tickles me if I try to touch him in bed when I'm cold. Then, I warm up trying to squirm away. LOL

Good morning...and Happy St. Patrick's Day! We don't really celebrate it either although years ago, before DH and I were vegetarian, I made corned beef and cabbage in the crock pot we owned then. That was tasty.

Today DD1 has a LONG shift at work. Good for the paycheck but her feet are going to be tired. DD2 is getting together with some school friends. DH gets to stay home...as usual...and I get to go to work....also as usual. I'm so glad DD2 is getting together with a couple of her friends.

Kathy, your toilet water dream should have had green water in it!

I'm glad they identified the fracture for your dad, do they have him in a brace? I know that concern about your mom being able to take care of him. My mom wasn't very big and my dad was a big guy. It did get to the point where she had to put him in an assisted living place because he would fall and she couldn't get him back up without help. They, unfortunately, didn't live near any of the three of us. Praying for all of you!

Jan, thanks for the suggestion to google Mary Berry's proper custard. That helped! How sweet of those "big boys" to let your GS have a turn at the skate park. I love stories like that, kindness is a blessing.

Jayne, I don't have a lot of colors of embossing powder thankfully. I use white and clear the most but do love the metallics. I learned somewhere that, for the most part, I can stamp in whatever color I want and then emboss with clear so I didn't need the colors which kept me from investing in them. I don't use my embossing folders nearly as much as I should. I like the results.

Jayne wouldn't it be great if your lotto win dream was prophetic?!

Brrrr, Gracie, those are cold overnight temps. I don't think of those happening in Arizona. Yes, this is the time of year I wish I lived there since they don't do the time change.

Hope your headaches clear up and leave you alone!

Jayne...we won't talk about how long I keep things, OK? Definitely LONG past their prime. Sometimes it is just because I don't want to shop for a new one.

That was nice of the girl to tell you about the upcoming sale!

I took Mom over to the hospital so she could be with dad. She texted me that I could go home and she'll let me know when I should come back over for her. She thinks they may keep him another day. Technically he's in the ICU and is only allowed one visitor so I had to wait in the van again. I did go down to Dunkin and get a coffee which reminds me I still have some left and I'm sure it needs heated by now. DH went to his old job to pick up some skids for a project and then he was visiting with another retiree.

Oh, Catherine, I was just thinking (dangerous, I know). If you download the Tim Holtz app, it has lists of all his products. Under Ranger, there is a list of distress inks. They are listed alphabetically. However, I did note that the newest ones haven't been added yet... speckled egg, crackling campfire, rustic wilderness, and kitsch flamingo. I find this extremely helpful by adding what I have to the inventory category, so I can avoid buying duplicates. Hopefully this is helpful.

It is still St. Patrick's Day here - for another 36 minutes or so. So, here is a St. Patrick's Day joke I saw today: Two leprechauns were side by side using the urinals and one said to the other, "O'Toole, I've been drinking green beer all day and now I've magically changed it to yellow!"

I'll show myself out now.

Well somehow I thought yesterday was Thursday, I was so convinced that steve had to look at it phone to check!! Tried a different place for breakfast, nice views but my toast was so crunchy with no soft middle so won’t go again,

Gracie I won’t give steve that idea of tickling, I hate my neck touching, or feet. I’m usually warmer than steve, well since hot flushes, ha,ha, funny before his heart attack he was the warm one since then he feels the cold much more.

kathy at least your Mum can see your Dad, we read so many reports where no visitors are allowed,
a Dutch lady who I see on a blog, she lives in a cave house near Granada, her husband was rushed to hospital and she didn’t see him for two weeks, he was diagnosed with bowel cancer and had a massive op, she was allowed after a test to stay with him for the last five days he was in the hospital but she had to sleep on the floor and couldn’t leave his room for the whole time, he’s home now thankfully.

Catherine, don't let the door hit you in the behind when you leave....hahahahaha. Those leprechauns are so magical! That was a good joke. And I love punny jokes so Jan, that one was good.
The over the freeway electronic signs had this message this past week: don't drive and shamrock. Does that mean you shouldn't drive with a shamrock shake from McD's in your hand?
Toilet dreams....I'd probably wet the bed if I had one. I dream a lot but never fun, always full of reality, not always good reality, but skewed in a very strange way. Always upsetting.
I think the texture of the pumpkin pie is what I like best. And yes, I add Cool Whip or whipping cream to the lo cal pumpkin pie.
I DISLIKE BEING TICKLED!!!!!!
Kathy, I'm so sorry about your Dad. Facilities around here are starting to open up so two people can visit someone for 30 minutes.
Knowing what day it is: I'm generally good about that but one morning, not long ago, I woke up and couldn't figure out what day it was. Think, think, think....nope. So I decided to think about what challenge I had done the day before and then I knew it was Sunday.
Shoes....I have a full trunk full down in the basement that I have barely looked at since I moved here 11 years ago. I may be moving sooner rather than later because my rent keeps going up while my income does not and that trunk will be emptied for sure. Then I can put something else into it.
Heat embossing is my number one favorite stamping technique. I will never tire of it and I was so happy when it came back into favor. To me, it's magic.
Well, this was erratic and I probably forgot something. Have a great day! J

This is how I remember what day it is. I used to have them on round binders that I just flipped over but it was easier to remove the binders and put them on this little phone stand that I got at Dollar tree. Every night before I go to bed I flip it to the next day.

Great idea Kathy, I always used to know more as we always went to watch football on Sunday afternoon, now every day feels the same.

Kathy, my DH changes a little block calendar every day or night. The trouble is , he is always asking did I change that already, or yet? So easiest is to look at our iPads. They always know! LOL

great joke Catherine! Steve’s was good, too, Jan. And yes I read that blog, too. She loves him very much to sleep on the floor! Can you imagine?

I am slow today. I am dresses, but need to change sheets and get some steps I . Too cold to walk outside, so will walk around inside. With rain, snow yesterday, I only got 4000 steps. What crazy weather.

Jean, I have items I haven’t used or worn since we moved three years ago! I guess it is time to get rid of some stuff, even crafting stuff.

at least the birds are singing outside, even though it is 30s outside.
sheets are calling me.

Its raining here.
If I can't remember if I changed the day, then I consult the tablet or phone. Some days I wake up and lay in bed until I remember what day it is. And some days that's longer than others before my memory kicks in!

I have a white dry erase board on my refrigerator so I can keep track of when I fed the cat! I think he is diabetic so I try to give him a spoonful of food at least every 3 to 4 hours and there's a lot of times I can't remember when I last fed him. If I left it up to him he would erase the board and I'd be feeding him all the time! LOL

Sharon over in Spain they like family to stay to help look after family in hospital, I think it’s ridiculous, in England they can’t wait to get rid of you after visiting time,

Good morning! We'll join those of you who have rain today. Always happy for precipitation - though prefer liquid to frozen.

Yesterday, I had errands to run for work. While I was out, I decided to stop by DD1's store. As I pulled into the parking spot, I looked up and it appeared that someone was tipping the tables and chairs over that are on the Starbucks terrace but the person went behind the pillar so I couldn't see what was going on. I got out of my car and noticed a police car had pulled up, then I saw that they person tipping over the furniture was on some kind of rampage. I went to enter the store and they had locked it down! Phillip, DD1's boss, saw me and let me in. By this time, there were four police units on the scene. Thankfully, there isn't usually this much excitement there. Apparently, she had ordered coffee but couldn't pay for it and was mad that no one else would pay for it for her. Honestly, if she had taken another approach, one of the employees would likely have comped it for her. Instead, she got a ride in a police car. Poor girl, something isn't right there. Fortunately, it happened when not only the manager but also the district manager were there. In fact, the district manager and a police officer were talking by my car when I went to leave. She said, "Sorry." and went to get out of the way so I indicated that they were by my car. The officer said, "We were protecting your car." to which I naturally replied, "Thank you!"

Last night DD2 made vegan quiche for dinner. It was good, needed some salt, but tasty. I didn't even look at the recipe. It is so nice when the girls decide to make dinner! (Vegan quiche has a tofu base in case you were wondering!)

Jan, I like punny jokes so like Steve's joke! His joke reminds me of the art thief joke: A thief tried to steal the paintings at the Louvre in Paris. He was caught two blocks away when he ran out of gas. He said: “I had no Monet to buy Degas to make the Van Gogh. But I tried because I had nothing Toulouse.”

Jean, sorry to hear you might need to move soon. Moving is so much work!

Sharon, I need to go through boxes in the garage and eliminate, eliminate, eliminate! Problem is, I can't seem to get around to it.

Going to work four days a week helps me keep track of what day it is...for the most part.

Melody, I actually keep track of what inks, stamp sets, dies, stencils, embossing folders, etc on Evernote because I can have that on my phone as well to avoid buying duplicates. I was wanting to see the list of distress inks, though, to know how many I don't have! I have printed the list, now just need to take the time to compare my inks to that list.

Jan, the hospitals here are like England. Though, they do make exceptions to the visitor hours category. When DD2 had surgery (she was around 10, I think), I stayed with her even when she was in ICU. They had me sleeping on the floor beside her bed. I guess because she was so young, a parent was allowed/encouraged to stay.
