All is well in my neck of the woods. I'm getting my second vaccine today, have to drive a half hour to get it. But first, I'll stop to see my son and daughter in law. Haven't seen them much since Christmas. I've told Joe we have to hug, that is all there is to it. No hugs since a year ago Christmas or so.
Frosty morning, frost on the grass. Snow is gone. I put my heat on for the first time in about a week. I like it a little colder in my house, hate being too warm. The sky is blue, the sun is radiant, life is good.
Still thinking on ugly papers. What is ugly?

Speaking of spring break, the university that my daughter works for started second semester a week later so they could dispense with spring break. Sounds like a good idea to me.
Stay safe and well everyone. Things have to get better, just because the weather is improving.

Good morning ladies.

Sharon, DD seems to be doing OK. She's busy packing for her move April 1. I know she is looking forward to being in a new place.

Jan, must be time to teach GS that mum's toys are a bit different than what he has in mind. LOL

Hi Catherine, Ann, Sharon, Jan, Jean, Melody, Kathy, Kandie, Shirl, Annette, Sis and anyone else who's around. We don't have daylight savings in Arizona, so I'll be 2 hours behind the midwest now.

It is warmer in Wisconsin than here! We actually got 4 inches of snow and it's in the 30's! Tomorrow it will be back in 50's and 60's by Monday. Crazy weather!

I was finishing a watercolor of 2 baby owls for my daughter's birthday. They were going to come up here from Phoenix, but not now because of snow and cold. We may drive down there. It's suppose to be in the 60's there.

Jan, your GS is too clever...buy mommy a toy for Mother's Day! LOL Glad you had time to sit by the shore and relax, too. You two are always working!

Well, gotta run and decide what we are going to do today. Hugs all!

Hi Sharon and all!

Just finished my card for T!

Jan, he is clever. He can play with the toy and give mom some alone time! Your lunch date sounded good.

Jean enjoy your hug! I have been hugging my brother when we say goodbye. I finally got around to ordering flowers for him and his stepson's family yesterday. Supposed to be delivered today by the florist.

Ann, have fun with the grands!

Gracie what time zone are you in? We turn our clocks ahead tonight. I do not like losing an hour's sleep, lol...

I made a big pot of a soup mix called Muligitawny. You just add a potato, apple and 10 cups of water and then a can of coconut milk. Top with cilantro. It turned out good.

Virtual hugs to all of you!

My brother, Bruce just called that he got the flowers. Yay! Answered prayer. I was worried, that if he wasn't home, they would be left to wilt outside his door.

He told me he just got paid $500.00 from the t.v. show Big Sky. They wanted to set up a big lighting rig in his driveway as they are shooting the series across the street from him. He hasn't watched the show yet, but we have. It will be coming back on in April sometime. David Kelley who wrote Big Little Lies among other things, is the writer of the show. Anyone else watching this show?

That's so cool, Shirl. I haven't seen that show, but it would be fun knowing they were filming just across the street!

That link is really more for me. I plan to do every tutorial listed so when I get free time I scroll through and do one or two of them. I have done every one since 2014 I thin, and there were more I did before I knew to upload them to the technique gallery so I redid a couple. I have a spreadsheet with them all listed and check mark them off as I get them done.

Shirl, how long are they set up in his driveway?

I love mulligatawny soup. I made some last week, but didn't use a mix. Made it from scratch. Now I have it frozen in serving size containers.

That's pretty ambitious, Kathy. There are a few that I have no desire to make at all. Or I'm not willing to spend money on a product in order to make it. The book stack one this week - I plan to change that into a card front instead of using a crate. Just haven't gotten to it yet.

Kathy, do you also do the Monday technique challenge? Some of those are repeats, but not all of them.

I may run into one or two I can't do, but I've been known to buy stuff just to do one and later found I could use that product for something else. Shrinky dink paper comes to mind. I bought some to do a wine ring and then used it for the project a week or two ago.

i used to do them but then they started using recent tutorials and I just didn't feel like doing something I had just done. Sad, because I enjoyed them and I'd be so disappointed to find they just started pulling them from the Wednesday turorials

Melody, Bruce said the rig was there from Thurs to today, Sat.

He just emailed me a pic and I used to know how to share it here, but I think how to do that has changed, so I need your help first to show you the pic.

Mulligatawny soup is Steve’s favourite, I buy the Heinz variety as it’s the best, I’m not a lover of it, in fact he had a tin last Saturday. I’ve never made it I must admit.

Shirl how great that your brother got paid,

Well, good morning! Three earthquakes since 6:30 this morning! First one was a 3.0. We can’t find info on the other two yet. Felt bigger! Rattles stuff, but we can’t find anything yet out of place.

Shirl, it is pretty neat that your brother got paid for that. And he has a good story, too.

Melody, Kathy, I like new techniques, but not when I have Togo out and buy stuff. I still have three of those half glass balls I bought for FF to make the tree decoration, and I only used one. They came in fours. I have a plastic one left, when we made the jar topper. Another thing is I had no use for either. So , I am picky about the techniques I try. But for FF and DTGD I like to try it! LOL

well, my hot tea is ready. Have a great Sunday!

Sharon I’m with you, I wouldn’t buy things just to do a challenge, mind you there’s no craft shops here and Amazon.es aren’t much good either, probably a good thing, I haven’t bought any craft stuff since our last visit to SF, only some glue and cheap card, saved a fortune

Thanks for sharing the picture Shirl. Really cool. As for the soup, it doesn't sound like something I'd like. Soup isn't soup without meat! LOL. The only soup I've eaten without meat was Strawberry and that was at a Victorian Restaurant that is no longer there. They tore that beautiful building down for more parking for a car dealership. When I volunteered at the hospital, the volunteer director was a great friend and she'd take us to lunch from time to time. I volunteered in her office and was the only volunteer to go along with her two paid employees. For Christmas one year she took us to a spa and we got mani/pedis. I got mani/massage! Then we had lunch right at the spa! She is 81 and was still working before covid! Amazing woman. Anyway, the soup was served cold and was yummy, but I would never call it soup. I actually became a paid employee for a few months when her assistant was in a motorcycle accident. The hospital director came into the office that morning and asked me to come into the office. Thought I was in trouble, LOL. He hired me that day. I think it was three months before the assistant came back.

The spanish gazpacho is cold tomatoe soup, it’s quite refreshing but it contains cucumber, we never realised that until steve made it and our friend said it kept repeating on him, ha,ha, we have it warmed with mussels in it, delicious

Good morning.

Kathy, I've never had mulligatawny without meat in it. We go to an Indian restaurant, and I always get their mulligatawny soup. They put chicken in theirs. They make it a little more spicy than I like, but it's still good. But if you make it yourself, you can control the spice. I think it's the kind of soup that you can add anything you like, or throw in leftovers. I put green beans, peas, some leftover corn, chicken, lentils. It has tomato paste and broth (I use chicken) as a base. I think it would also be good with ham or sausage. It's probably not all that different than beef vegetable soup, except for the curry/Indian flavors.

Speaking of food, we're picking up from Panda Express for lunch with the kids today.

I misunderstood Shirls recipe. I missed the part about the mix and thought it only had the potato, apple, water and coconut milk.

Shirl, that is so cool that your DB got paid to have the lighting set up in his driveway for Big Sky Tv show. My DH and I have watched Big Sky. It was very different...it kept you guessing and was kinda creepy! Not something I'd normally watch.

Melody I would imagine mully soup as steve calls it would probably be good with chorizo in it.

we’ve just had belly pork with roast potatoes, swede and turnip with cauliflower, cabbage sprouts, carrots and peas, very crispy crackling. Poached plums with yoghurt.

Hi everyone! It is the day I like the least - the Sunday we have sprung forward. I really wish we would pick one and just stick with it, I don't care which one, I just don't like this switching back and forth. The spring one really throws me for a loop so I'll probably be dragging for a couple of weeks or so.

Shirl, I've never heard of that show but how cool that your brother got paid! My first thought, from the name of the show was it must be about Montana and, when I looked it up, it is indeed!

Gracie, the forecast shows snow for us tonight into tomorrow morning so I may wake up to a white wonderland. They were right last time. But yesterday was a lovely day, perfect for a walk outside which DH and I did. I couldn't talk our couch potatoes into joining us.

Sharon, I had hoped you were done with earthquakes. And I agree with you about buying things for techniques - or some of the Falliday challenges and DTGD challenges. Some of the challenges I end up with something that I don't know what to do with. And sometimes it ends up in the trash after the challenge...or it sits around my house collecting dust.

Well, I've got the washing machine going, the dishwasher going (though that was mostly DH who got that going), and other chores done. I need to keep up my momentum and get a lot done today.

DD2 just got up but DD1 is still sleeping away.

My projects that I do and don't use end up at the thrift store uptown. They sell them. So really nothing lost because the money they make is for their private christian school.

Your meal sounds so yummy, Jan!
I think that soup would be great with chorizo. My dh would like it for sure as he likes spice. Not me so much though. The mix did say I could add protein, just did not have anything like that to add.

I roasted bratwurst sausages the other night with cut up potatoes, onions, and carrots. I love when I can just cook everything in the oven at one time.

Rainy here today, but supposed to clear for the next several days. Dh is watching a car race and I am making a card.

Sharon sorry to hear the earthquakes are still happening.

Shirl

I roasted bratwurst sausages the other night with cut up potatoes, onions, and carrots. I love when I can just cook everything in the oven at one time.

Rainy here today, but supposed to clear for the next several days. Dh is watching a car race and I am making a card.

Sharon sorry to hear the earthquakes are still happening.

I've never had bratwurst before. Is it like regular sausages? I love potatoes, onions, and carrots! Today I made chicken and biscuits. I cheated and used Bisquick for the biscuits. It turned out very yummy!

Whew, it’s been a busy few weeks here. This last weekend we celebrated two birthdays. DD1’s birthday was Wednesday, but she worked all day and then had parent/teacher conferences all evening. We celebrated her birthday Friday evening. Saturday, DH turned 50 so we celebrated HIM! I’m tired and ready for a nice normal week! Then we have spring break the week of the 22nd. Yay!

I just cleaned up some of my studio to make it more inviting to get up and get down here to create. Hate when it’s such a mess I can barely sit down at the counter!!

We had a lovely time with the kids today. Stayed till 5:00, which is very unusual for us. Our little lunch get togethers usually break up around 2 or 2:30.

Kathy, I'd never had brats until I moved to Milwaukee. I would say they are similar to hot dogs, only better. A little bit longer and plumper, and taste better. Of course, there are several varieties.

Chicken and biscuits sounds yummy. I make my own biscuit mix, which is probably pretty much the same as bisquick, so I use that instead of out of the box.

Happy Monday and DIrty Girl reveal day..yay.

It sounds as if everyone had a nice weekend having soup and yummy food, catch-ups with family, birthday celebrations and enjoying the sport. Sharon..more earthquakes ..eek...keep safe. Kathy, that video is sweet. What a talented family they are. Wow you’ve done tutorials for a long time. You are the tutorial queen.

Happy day and week everyone. We have a busy one coming up...time to move my butt and catch up on things.
