Jan, I rubbed my head this morning and more hair fell off. Maybe I’m being told to go back to my natural gray and white instead of coloring?

Here’s what I bought DH for Valentines Day, and all of my friends on here who adore British movies will sure understand, lol. The gray is for DH and the pink is for me, although I may have to buy a fabric marker and replace DH’s word Tea with Diet Coke!

Kathy, we bought a TemperPedic mattress with the foam pillow topper because I was in such pain with the gallstone stuff. I love this mattress; we sleep very well on it.

Kandie I like them , mine would be tea. Our son in SF is always sending steve teeshirts with saying on them, last one was about being retired.

have you asked the doctor about your hair? It’s strange just the coloured bits are coming out, mine would look strange as I have highlights! I dread to think how much is grey!

Happy Valentine’s Day ladies.

Fun tshirts Kandie. We don’t celebrate Valentine’s here although I am a romantic. DH says it’s too commercialised lol. How are you and your hair? Eek...I hope it’s nothing bad.

My son has alopecia and he lost all of his hair at 10. He had lots of tests. He still only has hair growth on one side of his head and face including his eyebrows. He just shaves it all off yet his body is covered in hair. So weird but then look at our family tree lol. I’m finding out so many interesting facts. I knew we were weird on my dads side but it seems on my mum’s side too. It explains it all Gracie lol.

Hi everyone! I hope you've all enjoyed a lovely Saturday. I have been busy with the family and was very tired because DD2 wanted to talk last night at 11:15 pm which kept me up later than I normally stay up. What is it with teens that when they want to talk, it is late at night?!

Shelly, I've been trying to make a card for Kristen. Didn't love my first idea, still trying to rescue it. For some reason, I'm struggling a bit this time.

Kandie, sorry to read that you've had such a reaction to the vaccine. Hoping you don't lose all your hair!

I love your DH's humor and so glad he is on top of protecting his information!

Kathy, I have been sad to see the paper crafting section at Michaels really shrink. I'm not sure what they are doing. I hope you find the paper you need. I do know that the last time I was in Joanns, I found that their paper crafting section has increased quite a bit since the last time I was in there.

Kathy, I don't have one but both of my brothers and their wives love their sleep number beds.

Kandie, that is too funny about the message signs in front of the church and the attorney's! Also, your journal is lovely!

Those are fun t-shirts, Kandie!

Kathy, my DH is bald...something he never thought he would be! I told him should never have said never!

our eldest has thick hair like mine although he has a bald spot appearing, steve is thin on top but if he grows his hair he has lovely curls at the back, which he hates so he scalps himself, ha,ha, eldest looks like a wild man at the moment as there’s no barbers open in the uk, youngest in SF has wispy hair, thinning rapidly, he was told it’s a six week waiting list now the barber has opened.
my dad was receding at twenty but didn’t recede much more and still had a full head of hair at 80, not totally grey either, mum was salt and pepper as we say so there’s hope for me!

Good morning friends. Cold, frigid hugs to you all from Wisconsin today. High of 2 expected. I cut my DH's hair. When the kids were little, I also did theirs. I even do my own, but I'm not very good with that. At the moment, I'm just letting it get shaggy. We opted to stay in today, since the kids aren't available for lunch. I'm making a roast with potatoes and carrots and gravy in the IP. Need to get started on that.

I have a roast in the crockpot too, but i decided to add vegetable and make it soup. I had delicious leftover broth from my last soup so i canned it and opened it today and added it.

Jean, I had COVID for 2 1/2 weeks. When I finally got tested the test came back negative, but the doctor said all the indicators were there, and once someone is on the downturn of the virus, there is a bacterial level that registers negative after a certain point. It’s on my medical record as having had the virus. And my hair is breaking off at the color line, I used to wear it that short all the time. I’m just glad this is happening before I spent the $ getting an expensive color next Saturday instead of after. Then I would really have been upset.

Jayne, how hilarious about your family tree! DH says his tree isn’t a tree, it’s a stick, it was so easy to trace it back to Ireland as his great-grandfather who was a minister. Mine seems to be mostly farmers going back to UK, Scotland, waaaaay back to Germany. No wonder I love British shows!

speaking of, DH got a huge chuckle out of his Sherlock Holmes Valentine card and his British t-shirt!

I couldn't remember if you'd had it, Kandie. I'm sorry about that and your hair. My friend colors her hair too but I don't know if it's only breaking off at the color line. She bought a wig, it was so bad. That virus affects everyone in different but crazy ways. I had the first vaccine yesterday. No issues.

And I too love British tv, especially the mysteries but I have not a drop of UK blood, as far as I know. Ever since I read Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie. I even use a few expressions on occasion, without thinking about it. Done and dusted comes to mind.

Good afternoon, everyone! Happy Valentine's Day! We slept in (felt lovely). Well, DD1 was up early as she had to work and she said people were extra rude today. I am appalled at some of the things customers do, I would never think to do those things. Fortunately, they do have very nice customers too.

I'm planning on making mushroom stroganoff for dinner tonight as DH loves stroganoff. That is about the size of our celebration though. Aren't we fun?! ha!

I finally got a card for Kristen done and uploaded.

Jan, your boys should be OK hair wise then. Supposedly the hair gene comes from their mom's side and their maternal grandpa is a good indicator of what their hair will do.

Melody, I used to cut DH's hair. Now he uses the razor and does it himself though he'll have me check the line at the back of his head. He has a lot of hair (just not on top) but it doesn't get long, it gets bushy so he keeps it short. We also do DD2's hair at home as she has both sides of her head shaved with it long in the middle. DH shaves the sides for her and I trim the length to avoid split ends. DD1 and I both go and get ours cut which is why I was so happy to get a hair cut in Idaho since CA hair stylists were shut down.

I love British TV as well. One of the things i picked up when I read Agatha Christie was that she apparently didn't like the royal we. You know, when the nurse comes in and says, "How are we doing today?" It cracked me up in her books.

Kathy, we should be mattress shopping. Have had this one since 2006, way past what they recommend.

Jan, my Dad had a pretty much full head of hair which wasn't all that graying when he died at 79. I am thinning on top so have recently started taking silicon beauty which we will see if it helps.
Dh just got his haircut and looks so much better and younger too. He is a real procrastinator about things.

Jean, I am glad you have had no issues with the vaccine!

Linda is the featured stamper today! Congrats Linda!

Catherine, so nice to sleep in!

Has been snowing all day, but does not seem to be settling, although the flakes are much bigger now, so we shall see.

Happy Valentines Day Jaynie, and all!

Question Ann What do you mean by this weeks challenge Repeat? Do you make a Repeat of a card already done? Or what give me some examples of what you mean by Repeat? Thanks Linda

Linda, that usually means you repeat something on your card design. Repeat an image, a color, words, shapes, etc. (i.e., Repeat stamping -- you stamp the same image two or three or more times.)

I have Kristine card ready to post today, just hope it actually arrives as our mail is still hit and miss.

I felt exhausted last night, we were both awake from 4am, steve going to the bathroom woke me up too and then we couldn’t get back to sleep, then our son rang at 6.30pm we chatted for nearly an hour, then Eldest GS rang to chat, then DIL chatted, two hours later we all said goodbye, it was lovely but I felt exhausted, ha,ha,

Morning! Two hour delay for most schools around here.

I made the P, Q and R cards this weekend, so I need to get them photographed and uploaded.

A sleepy morning, so I’m not feeling too chatty lol!

Good morning happy Monday and the 15th of the month already.

Jean, don’t you love Agatha Christie! Which actress is your favorite? I don’t know their names, but the sweet little one who wore a hat and long dresses and had a magnifying glass on a ribbon around her neck is my favorite. I always wanted one of those glasses on a ribbon, lol.

Dusty got me up at 2:45 to go out and again at 7:30. Why is it I always have to go too when she gets me up?

DH is getting his staples out today, and he is so not looking forward to it. Poor man.

Linda, congratulations!

Good morning all! It is a provincial holiday here so I am at home today. I got to sleep in a little so that was nice. The service for my MIL was lovely on Friday. It was hard not being with the family but at least everyone was able to be there by video. My neice was able to connect from Taiwan as well.

I really enjoy British programming as well.

Kandie I'm sorry you are having such a reaction to the vaccination. i hope it gets better soon. Also, thank you for the lovely valentine. i will definitely find a use for those beautiful papers.

Congratulations Linda!

I have been catching up on some of the alpha challenges and need to post them. First breakfast.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning! Sorry for not being around, had the grandkids this weekend and we worked on junk journals!

Kandie, that is horrible about your hair. Didn't know that was a side affect.

I still have not been able to schedule the vaccine. Always time slots full. Not looking forward to it but with travel in the future it will be needed.

Hugs to all, stay warm in this freezing cold and icy weather all around the country.

Lynn and Liz hope the two of you are ok where you live!! The U.S. weather has gone nuts

Good morning. Yes, another frigid day here today. Mostly sunny, but extremely cold.

Ann, my health care sent info that they would contact me when the vaccine was availble. Of course, DH wants to be on top of it, etc. etc. etc. (no patience). I'm not excited about getting it, but I guess I will, since I want to spend time with family. But, I'm OK with waiting.

Congrats Linda on being featured stamper.

My health care system did the same Melody but no further notice of when or where. Just that it would not be at their location.

I tired again at the local county system this morning but no time slots available. Everything was booked already at the time they started this morning.

Like you I am ok with waiting but need it for travel later this year.

I'm back home. I was dog sitting (4 dogs) in the desert in northern Phoenix. My phone didn't work well inside the house and I kept missing calls. I think I've been off my computer for 3 or 4 days. Lots to catch up on!

Have a great Monday and stay warm!

Just past noon here. Dang cold here but it isn't snowing and that's good. Don't know where they will start putting it.
I was able to schedule my vaccine because a friend has been stalking Walgreens. Aurora has done little or nothing, just sent a letter that 'they care about getting me the vaccine.' yeah right. The Walgreens site was difficult to get around, I think it was overloaded. I finally got through where I could see locations and all I could find were in Milwaukee. So I drove to Brady St on the east side. Melody and Ann know where that is. On Saturday.....the roads were horrible. So cold that the light snow became ice. And there is a ton of street parking down there so I was so nervous that I'd lose control and hit parked cars. I was going to stop at my son's and maybe shop at Glorioso's but nope, I went home. As you drive closer to the lake, the snow increases because of Lake Michigan. Sigh. But I got it, second one in March. The Waukesha cty health dept is also making appointments, I made one just in case something happened on Saturday that I couldn't get it. My arm isn't even sore, they're using very narrow needles. I expect to have a few more side effects from the second, from what I've heard.
Kandie, I like Joan Hickson best. Then Geraldine McEwan. Of course David Suchet is the best Poirot. Other English mysteries I like: Shetland, Vera, George Gently, Unforgotten, Inspector Morse, Inspector Lewis, Sherlock, Endeavor, I could go on and on. I just like mysteries period. I liked Jeremy Brett as Holmes.
Have a good day and stay warm and cozy.

Good morning! It is a wet and drizzly day here. Yesterday, DH got the electrical box added outside where he plugs in the strand of LED lights that he wants to come on when he flips the light switch. So fabulous, I am thankful that he knows how to do all these things. Next up to be switched are the 6 foot LED lights he bought for the garage. We enjoyed a Valentine's meal at home and just had a good time.

After several weeks of having Monday off, DD1 is working today. DH is working today too but I have President's Day off. I plan to be more productive than I was yesterday.

Goodness, it even snowed in Houston!

Kandie, I forgot to mention that Honey had a grooming appointment last Thursday. She looks so cute with her hair cut short! It sounds like Dusty and Honey are similar with their needs but DD1 doesn't always manage to get her outside in time, so then has an oops to clean up.

I hope the staple removal goes well.

DS2 started his new job today. Well, actually just had a couple of hours of orientation. then he came here after work. He is spending the night because we live 15 minutes from his job. Maybe not even that long but it's supposed to get icy overnight and DH has four wheel drive and can take him to work if he needs to

Linda, did you have your dad take you out in the snow? Make a snowball? Or is it too icy there?
