He explained it. Funny!

The only real problem with that is if you SEE a cockroach, you probably have many more hiding.

I lived in an apartment building that had roaches. The basements were sprayed every three months, but if someone reported roaches in their unit, that unit would get sprayed. The bugs just moved to other places in the building. You never really got rid of them.

I'm pretty sure the one in the joke was a fake one that the wife was moving around to get her DH to clean!

I'm thankful my DH will handle the bugs/spiders that we encounter in our house. I'm a big chicken and will handle it if he isn't around, but I'm happy to have him handle it if he is around!

DD2 and I went for a little drive this afternoon. I needed to drop some cards off at the post office and she wanted to get out and do some driving. We stopped at a market where I found nutritional yeast but still no flour or bread yeast.

Sweet dreams, Ann!

Gracie, I asked at the local grocery store up near where we live and found out when they receive their deliveries, so now I know what mornings to go there early in the morning with the hope of finding yeast and flour!

Hi ladies....lots of chat. Kandie kick Arthur itis out. It made me smile thinking of your DH wanting to get the takeaway he sees on tv. I would be the same.

Catherine loved the funny. I always ask my hubby to deal with any bugs we get....cockroaches I do not like and we occasionally get flying ones...fortunately rarely as they are horrible...ooh just thinking about them makes my skin crawl. I’ve had a couple of encounters with those biggies. Spiders I can deal with. Anything that runs...eek..you find me up high. Flies in the house annoy me and get zapped or whacked lol. We don’t tread on cockroaches Gracie as someone told me they emit their eggs...yuk yuk yuk. I don’t want their poop all over my house too....lol.

Gracie, exercise is good..it helps get those little choccie and liquorice calories off lol...come join me...check out a Leslie Sansone and do her 1 mile walk. She’s good and I feel good afterwards..plus it’s a nice easy one to start with. Only 15 mins.

I overdid it yesterday as we didn’t get chance to walk so I did a 30 minute aerobic class that was fast. I then did a 30 minute Pilates class but straight after lunch and boy I nearly passed out on my mat. I felt so sick afterwards. DH was on a phone call and when he came out he said I hope you haven’t died on me....I couldn’t get up and I felt so nauseous so he made me drink tonic (no gin) and said I was dehydrated. It was very warm here yesterday and again today....34 degrees.

I hope DH gets our power upstairs back on and our alarm that went off during the night. We woke to find it was off as our clock radio light wasn’t on. It affected our sleep and so slow moving today. Fortunately I wasn’t planning on heat embossing today so that’s lucky lol.

Ann, I will finish my cards lol.

Have fun....I need to get out of my nightie before it’s lunchtime

We went for a walk down the back road today and I was amazed by what I saw along the road on both sides. I counted ten empty bottles of Black Velvet! I don't drink, but I'm pretty sure that's whiskey! It has to be underage drinkers, otherwise you'd think they'd drink at home. So sad. On a walk down my road I saw at least two empties of either rum or vodka.

Take it easy today Jayne! Don't want to die on the hubby! Hope it's a cooler day there.

I made a pillow out of my Dad's shirt for my mom today, since I can't see her for Easter. She misses my dad so much and is alone in her home. (He passed away 4 years ago...they we're married 65 years!) My brother visits or calls her every day as he lives only a couple miles from her.

Relaxing now...will make cards tomorrow.

Have a good day or night...depending on where you are!

Here is the pillow (front & back) that I made out of one of Dad's favorite red & navy shirts. His favorite color was red, just like me! I'm sure my mom will love it. I'm sending it out tomorrow.

Default Hello

Waving hello!

Loved the funny about the roach and the cleaning- showed it to hubby and he got a chuckle out of it as well!

Woah! Jayne, that is HOT! 34- is 98 F Do you have much humidity as well?

Oh Gracie- the pillow is wonderful! I have shirts of my Mothers that I plan to make pillows out of (one day) for all of my siblings. I also have a shirt of my dad's...... It has our Irish surname emblem- how can I divide that???

I have not stamped in so long! I have been making the medical masks- I am on #9 and 7 given away- mostly for medical personnel. The APN that works with my pulmonologist lives close by and she picked one up today- she said they are rationing N-95 masks and they get one a week...... I am not sure that is the same as the nurses on the front lines......

Ann- thank You for the beautiful card and die cuts- I am anxious to get ink on them!!! So nice of you to brighten my day!

Kathy- that is crazy that you so so many alcohol bottles on your walk!

We have been walking alot with the dog here and took a nice bike ride today- ran into so many friends! We are supposed to be in New Mexico and heading towards El Paso for the trip home, so it was nice to have some 70 degree days to get outside!!! Tomorrow, it is supposed to rain here......

Kandie- I am with you with the allergy symptoms- the spring blooms are so beautiful...but! LOL Ha Choooooo!

Wavine hello to all- have to get to bed!
Shelly

Gracie that pillow is beautiful and so special for your mum. You are a lady of many talents...like the rest on this thread. I can’t sew to save my life.

Wow Kathy that’s a lot of bottles. Wonder who has left there there littering the place.

Shelly, no humidity thank goodness. It’s going to be 37 degrees on the weekend and this is supposed to be winter. Crazy as the virus our weather.

I’ve not done much. Replied to emails and now I’m looking at online colouring classes so I can improve. I love to learn. I am out of my nightie Gracie lol. I was going to craft but I feel lazy.maybe later or tomorrow. DGS wants me to play some games online with him so I need to brush up my skills lol.

Have fun everyone

Good morning, ladies!

I got the rest of my vacuuming done yesterday. The kitchen is always last because DH was working outside in the yard and tracking stuff in on his shoes. I happened to be vacuuming past the fridge when I saw a tiny spider, whoosh!, bad timing on its part, lol. Now it can ride around in the vacuum bag for a while!

DH would gladly clean where there were bugs. He did it for years before I came along. Then I would have to trail behind him as he doesn’t clean like I do.

Catherine, I’ll ask DH to check for yeast here. We don’t have flour either.

Jayne, you sure overdid it yesterday. Take it easy today and drink lots of water. Is your power back on yet?

Kathy, you must live on a youth route, or a merry-go-round as it used to be called in my youth, where the cars constantly drive around and they are the same people over and over, waving to each other and having their fun. Nothing better to do right now, I guess.

Gracie, those pillows are outstanding! You are so talented. When my dad passed, dearstepmom brought me his favorite flannel shirt. I plan to make a tote out of it if I ever get a sewing machine.

Shelly and all I missed. Good morning (evening) to you!

I noticed last night one of the neighbors has a flag lit up on the front porch. The lights are all around it. Beautiful!

Arthur is still visiting. The pain goes from my neck down to fingertips and even my feet. And still coughing.

We saw a funny commercial this morning. Remember John Stamos and Full House? It’s the original cast, and the commercial is called Full Quarantine, lol. Very creative!

Kandie, here they called it cruising. There was one main road, and only a few blocks, the teens would drive up and down. It was a major traffic problem, so they finally put up no u-turn signs.

For those of you who have flour, but no yeast, it is possible to make sourdough bread. First you have to make a starter, (only flour and water) which can take at least a week, partly depending on the type of flour you use. I've never made that, so I'm only speaking of what I've seen on line. Some of them use yeast, but this one doesn't:

Anyone have any other bread recipes that do not require yeast. Son number one is looking for some.

No yeast in the stores.

Most quick breads don't use yeast. Muffins, etc. They typically use baking powder.

Saw these on facebook. Would definitely make wearing a mask with elastic more comfy.

Shelly, how wonderful you are making masks! Sounds like you are keeping busy. We've been walking our dogs daily too. It helps to get out and about.

What a wonderful video Kathy.

Kandie, that tote looks like a great idea. I hope with the warmer weather, Arthur will soon be leaving your home!

Hi Jayne, hoped you got to play some online games with your DGS. Soon, you'll be back in your nightie again! LOL

Thanks for the tips, Melody, on how to make breads without yeast. I think I'll just craft and stay out of the kitchen. Ha ha.

Good morning or evening...whatever time it is where you all are!

Are you all looking for the packets of dry yeast or the blocks? I can look when I go out tomorrow. I just bought mom some dry yeast a couple of weeks ago, but haven't looked lately.

I was looking for packets of dry yeast and my neighbor had some that she gave me. I don't bake bread but was making comfort food: caramel cinnamon rolls. So it wasn't a necessity for me. LOL

A bad wind/rain storm came through around noon. The temp is starting to drop. It was 53° during the storm, but now 50°. Kitty ran back and his under the bathroom sink this time. DS2 had to go to work during that although there was a lull in the wind so he ran out to his car then. I had to tell him to unlock his car before going out! Its still windy and I see a small branch down by my car. I'm surprised I don't see more in the backyard.

I have frozen bread dough. I may thaw some and make sticky buns! Do I let it rise before rolling it out?

Good morning! It is drizzly outside today. Sadly, I think this is the last of our rainy weather for a while but anything can happen. Lots of chatter this morning, which I love.

Jayne, that sounds too hot to me! Your DH's response of "I hope you haven't died on me" cracked me up. Hope you are feeling better today, I guess it is tonight there now. Hope you got your electricity back on upstairs too.

That's sad that you found so many alcohol bottles on your walk, Kathy. I haven't watched the video you linked yet but when you shared the first ones from them, I watched those and then some others of theirs and they were cracking DD1 and I up.

Gracie, that pillow is wonderful. Does your mom know it is coming? What a lovely surprise for her. I am concerned for the people who live alone and are so isolated during this time, I'm glad your brother is able to check in on her regularly.

How is Sadie doing?

Shelly, so glad you are able to make masks to help the medical personnel stretch the use of their N95 masks. Unfortunately, I'm joining you and Kandie with the spring allergies.

Kandie, I always love it when I can deal with a spider while vacuuming. Since we use a Rainbow vacuum, that means they drown in the water. Love the photo of the shirt tote that you attached, what a great idea.

That sounds like a cute commercial, Full Quarantine!

Thanks for the tip on sourdough, Melody. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of sourdough bread. (Not sure that is a legal opinion living this close to San Francisco!)

Those would definitely help with wearing masks with elastic. I saw online that some young man was also 3D printing something to help make the masks with elastic more comfortable.

Kathy, I usually purchase the jars of active dry yeast but, at this point, I'd be happy with packages or the blocks. I wonder how it is made? Why is there such a shortage of it?

Yum to caramel cinnamon rolls, Gracie!

Snow showers, Melody?

I think it depends on if you want to let it rise once or twice, Kathy. Either way should be fine, I would think.

Here are some funnies I found last night.

Shortage on yeast and flour, because there is a shortage on bread, for the same reason as TP, because there are a whole bunch of panic stricken insane people out there.

I haven't seen a bread shortage here yet. I'm going out tomorrow morning so we'll see. I will also look for yeast. Last week they still had the frozen bread dough too.

That was one scary picture, Catherine!! The other two were so funny!

Bread making supplies are all in short supply.

It is blowing like crazy here and so cold, the wind just goes right through you! Snowing too!

Yuck snow, Ann and Melody. Brrrrr.

I found yeast and flour at Basha's grocery store. They limited sales to one each person. Good idea...that's probably why there was some still available.

That chocolate sign could have been me, too...all my hoarding of caramel sea salt milky ways. LOL

Sun is shining here, but the wind is cool. Off to walk the dogs.

I showed that scary one to DD1 last night and she said, "Now I'm going to have nightmares!" Silly girl!

Yay, Gracie, I'm glad you found some.

Kathy, the caramel sea salt Milky Ways sound fabulous to me too!
