Night all!! I have to bake tomorrow!! Jack's birthday party this weekend! Where did the time go he'll be 6!! Friday I'll decorate it! He said grandma I want a rectangle this time!!
Wow, busy day and parent/teacher conference this evening for DD2. She is doing very well in school. She had a Chemistry test today and scored 100% - and was the only student to do so.
My mom risked being without health insurance from age 62 to 65. Because she was going to do that, she had surgery to stop leaks before being without insurance. Fortunately, she was fine in those years without health insurance.
For surgeries - not counting oral surgery - I've had exactly three. I had my tonsils out for Christmas break my second year of college, and then the two c-sections.
Kathy, I'm glad you can get the surgery in this calendar year like you wanted but sorry you need surgery.
Sharon, are you leaving tomorrow for your retreat or Friday?
Wow, all you ladies and your surgeries! I must be super healthy. I've never had any surgeries, and I'd like to keep it that way. Broke my arm once, but that just required a cast. Never had any wisdom teeth, so didn't need those taken out. Babies both born naturally. I believe I still have all my parts, although there are times when I miss my mind.
Good morning, everyone. Melody, great comment about missing your mind. Like my doctor always says about Alzheimer’s, if you think you have it, you don’t. So if you think you are missing your mind, you aren’t, because if you were, how would you know it was missing, lol!
I still haven’t made any cards. Still coughing and coughing up something in the back of my throat. Not much, just a little. And still so tired. Aches come and go, nothing unusual there! I think all our house upgrades have caught up with me. DH has been working on cleaning out one of the estate sale houses, so he’s running around still in high gear.
Did anyone watch NCIS:NO? I was shocked that Lasalle died. I immediately looked it up online and see he was one of the original stars of The Fast and the Furious movies and might possibly be cast in the latest movie.
Well, got a call from DSM last evening, my sister is back in the hospital with pneumonia again. Two fire trucks and an ambulance at her home responding to DSM’s 911 call. The EMTs had to push the gurney around to the backyard and wait for sis to come out the back door so they could put her on the gurney. She wouldn’t allow them in her house. Because it is a filthy mess. Mustiness, mold, trash bags, dishes piled high in the sink, piles of unopened mail. Sis won’t allow DSM to clean anything until she looks at it first, kind of a hoarder mentality. I can’t go there, can’t breathe in the house. It’s a breeding ground for the germs that keep her sick. The EMT told DSM her condition was life-threatening. What it is is a circle, she can’t get better until she allows the house to be cleaned, but she won’t allow the house to be cleaned. It drives us all nuts. She told her mom she didn’t expect to make it to Christmas. What a thing to say to your mother. I would appreciate any prayers, and I thank you all for them. She has to allow us to help her get better.
Eye doctor appointment today to get my eyes dilated. DH said I will have my eyes wide open like a zombie. I asked if I should go there with grey makeup and dark circles around my eyes? Too bad this appointment isn’t on Halloween, lol.
31 degrees here with a high of 34. The vehicles have a layer of snow on them but very little on the ground, not like your area, Ann! And what a lovely home you have!
I think I am just rambling, so I will say have a good day, and I’ll check in later.

Good morning! Yes, I leave today. Hubby will take me, as it is not very far, and then pick me at four on Monday. Then the car won’t have to be parked there all weekend out in the weather.
Surgeries I have had: to tonsils removed, foot surgery, cataracts surgeries. cyst removed from breast, and large mole removed down below by my privates , a lot of stitches, they did that after I had our first baby, since they were down there anyway. LOL
Ok, I have to see if I can hone down some of this stuff that I packed to take. Way too much!
It's cold here, only 15 degrees right now!! Heat is running!!
Too many surgeries for me! Left hand large ganglion cyst which wrapped around my wrist, hysterectomy and bladder pulled up, hernia, gall bladder, these last two were a month apart, right arm tennis elbow - my veins were wrapped around strangely so he fixed those too while doing the elbow. Wow, when I was doing wedding cakes I had to take Excerdrin to get through the pipping of the frosting! Then the cysts in my fingers would fill with liquid! So glad to be retired from that! Tonsils when I was in first grade!
I still have my wisdom teeth! Two of them in the lower! The dentist said they should be pulled when I was pregnant with my last son. I said no to that while pregnant! Never had them done!
Have to get moving on weekly challenges today plus bake and stack Jack's cake! He is going for Pokemom this year! He still loves his trains but wants Pokemom cards and cake this year.
Kandie, good luck with the eye appointment!
Sharon, have fun, nice your spouse is driving you!
LaSalle is dead?!! I don't watch that regularly, but I know who he is and I do remember seeing him in a fast and furious movie. He would be a good replacement for Paul Walker, who died in a car crash in real life. I miss him. He was a good, lovable actor.
Comparing surgeries, I would say Ann wins! I had tonsils out as a kid. I remember getting out of bed before surgery to put on my undies because why on earth would they need this off when they are working in my throat?!! LOL. Eight back injections, left tennis elbow, laser to weld the horseshoe tear on my retina, hysterectomy and bladder and rectal repair (owww), and three nose surgeries! I'm having pain in my left leg now, so much so that I have to use my hands to lift my leg when I get into the car. But I'm learning that its probably all stemming from my back issues and if I wait long enough, it goes away from one spot and pain pops up in another!
Wow, lots of chatter since I traveled to Wisconsin. Got here safely and this morning it is cold...14 degrees! The lake is frozen! Quite a change from 70 degrees! LOL
Ann beautiful picture of your home with all that snow!
Well, off to visit my mom today, friends tomorrow, granddaughters Friday night and Sat. morning. Leave to drive back to Arizona Sunday morning! Busy few days! I checked on Falliday Fest forum and can't seem to find the recent challenges. hmmmm
Have a great day all!

Good morning! I won't tell you what the temperature is here....it isn't my fault, it certainly doesn't feel like fall.
DH is working on our Sienna van today, I'm praying it goes well and he is safe while working on it.
Kandie, I'm sorry to hear about your sister. That is so hard on the family that wants to help.
Oh my goodness, yes, I watched NCIS: NO and was so shocked! I wasn't expecting that at all! Now there are only three original cast members - Pride, Sebastian, and Loretta. It would have been nice if the actress who played Brody in the beginning as well as the actress who played Sonja would have been back for the funeral.
Have fun at your retreat, Sharon! Such fun and to be driven and dropped off is even better.
Kathy and Ann, you have both given too much business to the surgeons! If you count oral surgery, I have had all four wisdom teeth out. I had them put me out and take all four at once.
Brrr, Gracie, that is quite a switch for you temp wise. Don't freeze back there!
I just traumatized my demo friend by telling her about LaSalle! She didn't watch it last night and forgot to tape it so she asked me what happened....and I told her! Poor girl may never recover! She watched a lot more than I did.
I thought maybe they would move him into witness protection program and bring him back later like they did with Casey on Law and Order and with Prentiss on Criminal Minds!
Thanks Catherine. I'll go look. I think I had the wrong keyword and when I changed it, it took a while to move into the gallery.
I know how your DH feels. Everytime we work on something, there's always a bit of trouble. We put a new belt on Mom's dryer tonight and it wasn't quite as easy as YouTube showed.
Good morning! I have a cute dog who desperately needs a trip to the groomer sitting beside me. Her "mom" needs to get her scheduled, poor ragamuffin!
Ann, I hope to get some crafting done today. We'll see how it goes. DH is home for day 2 of working on the van. I certainly hope this resolves the issue!
I ran DD2 to school, DD1 is at work until 2 pm, and I need to clean the house. Trying to decide if should eat breakfast first though. I have taken care of the animals - though Honey looks like she thinks she needs more attention.
Ann, thats really cold. No snow until now.
My grandchild is 7 years old.
For Lunch she wants Potatoe pancakes, Apple sauce and cucumber salad.
In the afternoon, we will have cheesecake, wich she loves.
Not much chatting today, is everyone busy with Falliday? Sometimes I think too much before choosing an idea and running with it for making a card. That is where I am with Lydia's Falliday challenge. I have several ideas and need to just choose one and get it done!
Ann, I did eat first today. Sometimes I clean first and then breakfast is my reward. DH made good progress on the van but didn't quite get it all put back together so...another day. He is thankful that he budgeted to begin the project on Thursday to give himself enough time.
Both girls are very tired and DH is sleeping on the couch while I type this.
Dagmar, seven is a fun age. Does she craft with you? I like her menu, sounds tasty.
I am in bed. Its freezing in here but I like it because I have the electric blanket on 9 and the heating pad on warm.I'm exhausted, but that's usual for a payday. I do my Walmart run and banking. I did get my dd coffee while I was out.
I have four of the Falliday challenges completed. I just need to take photos and upload. I actually have five essentially done, just not sure I like the pop out one so may do more to it.
Ann, I hope you'll share photos of Jack's birthday cake!
Kathy, I hope you are having a good night filled with sweet dreams!
Good morning, ladies. I hope everyone is doing well. My sister is still in the hospital and not doing well. I’m spending a lot of time with her, so I won’t be on here. I have been trying to keep up but, sadly, I’m getting farther and farther behind. You are all so supportive and so terrific. I hope to get back on here later on. Take care.

Phil. 4:13: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Had a rough night. Just couldn't get comfortable. My leg hurt so bad I had trouble just laying there so I got up and sat on the floor in the living room a while. What I do is put pillows on the floor in front of my rocker recliner and kneel on them with my head on the seat. That takes pressure off my hips and gives some relief. But if I stay in that position my legs fall asleep and my knees hurt! After that I Gabe in and took 1/4 of a pain pill. I slept shortly after that until nearly nine. The farmers were working late into the night and morning! They were still taking corn off at 2 a.m. I can see the combine sitting out in the field and wonder what time they gave it up?
So sorry you had an awful night Kathy! Hope you feel better today.
Kandie, prayers for your sister and family! So hard...big HUGS!
I spent Thursday and stayed overnight with my mom. She was thrilled. I bought Chinese home for supper, we played cards and sorted through huge boxes of greeting cards she had saved. Then, I got to surprise friends who were at a craft retreat and spent the afternoon with them.
My DGD's 5th birthday, so DS, DIL and 3 granddaughters came up Friday night and stayed over. We celebrated and played games. They are leaving at noon to go to other grandparents. We leave for Payson tomorrow morning.

Just want to wish all the "Alpha Sisters" a wonderful day! It's been way too long since I've participated in the Alpha challenges, but just want you all to know I think of you often. Hugs!
Good morning! The entire family slept in this morning, boy did we need it. DD2 is still asleep.
Kandie, praying for you and your sister.
Kathy, I was hoping you were enjoying a good night. Sorry that didn't happen. I wonder why the farmers were working so late? They must have gotten behind schedule or something.
It sounds like you are having fun on your quick visit. Safe travels tomorrow. I can't remember, do you do it one shot or stop overnight? I hope you stop.
Hi Catherine, I wish we'd stop but my DH likes to drive straight through. He'll stop and take a couple hour nap, so it will take us about 34 hours at least. That's why I flew back to ride with him because I didn't think it would be a good idea to drive all that way by himself! Such a man!
