Just a quick question, and maybe I am not in the right place but what is considered an appropriate turn around time for hostesses to return your goods to you????

Within ten days from the due date is when swaps should be mailed back.
How long does it take before you know if you are approved for the swap forum?
Marsha
There are a couple of us that check the pending requests at different times throughout the day. You should be all set now. We don't send PM's unless there is a problem with the request.
hi ladies quick question I have been approved on the application I think lol but when I tried to join a swap someone pm'ed me and said I needed to fulfill 5 wishes first before I could join any swaps is this true, how do I do so if it is and what suggestions would you give.Under my group memberships it tells me I am a member of the swap hostesses and participants so if not able to join yet what all all needs to be done to join???
I'm not sure what that is about. There are some wish and RAK threads. The first post of those should have the rules of how they work. Maybe that is part of the rules of that particular thread.
You don't have to grant wishes to participate in card swaps, ATC swaps, etc.
PM me a link if you would like me to look into it further.
I cannot figure out how to sign up for Magnolia Card Kit that is for OCT. I am new to this site and did join. I just can't figure our how to contact host.

Reason: grammar

It looks like you need to request to join the swap group. Once you have done that and been approved you will be able to post in the thread and ask the hostess to join.
Requesting to join the swap group is a two step process described here...
You just need to follow the steps listed in this post here and then once the approval goes through you will be able to post in the threads and sign up for open swaps.
I have been asked to join a swap group that has been closed and I do not know how to post my response with information about myself. I would appreciate any help I could get as I would love to belong to this group!
Thanks!
Sandy
It doesn't look like you are a member of the swap forums. You have to join the group before you will be able to post. Here is a link with the two step process for joining the group.
I Want To Swap Cards but the systems Not letting Me
I just joined the swappers forum I think but I still haven't been allowed to sign up for the card swap that I'm really interested in. I made sure all my personal info is completed. I've read the rules, instructions but when I try to reply it says I'm not authorized. How long does it take to get authorized to sign up for a swap. I hope it's not too long I really want to do the Penny Black animal swap.

Hello, I was wondering if you could help me to find some swaps to join in on. I have looked all over this and can't get anywhere. Any help I can get would be awesome.. Please email me at [email protected]..
First you will need to join the Swap Group before you can sign up to participate in any of them.
Here is a link for how to do that: Forums at Splitcoaststampers
Once you are a member you can look under the different subforums for swaps and look for ones that are open.
Right now there are some secret sister swaps in the everything else subforum. But stay tuned. We are going to be moving them all into a new ss swap subforum.
The only swapping I have ever done is with the Crazy for Cats Card Club where it is between members one on one. Send a card, get a card. It sounds as though this is always a hostess getting the cards and a person makes as many cards as there are people who sign up for the swap. Is that right? Is there someplace to read all the rules, or does a person have to sign up first?

quick question to my fellow swappers...would it be considered bad form to CASE yourself from one swap to another if you changed a little bit on the card?...i have done a card in the past that i know is perfect for another swap...any input is appreciated

If any of the participants are the same, they probably wouldn't be thrilled with getting cards that are almost the same, KWIM? I think most people swap to get different ideas.
Really new here and looking forward to participating. I would like to know where to find the exact directions to swap. I'm assuming a hostess initiates a swap, participants make a certain amount of cards to match the specs given and then mails them to the hostess. I, in return, receive the same amount of cards done by other participants? Is this close to correct?
Each swap has it's own set of requirements, but what you are saying sounds about right. The Swapper 101 thread in this forum should give you a good overview.
question: if a swapper sends in their items couple weeks before due date all items meet all the swap requirements and was listed as received then hostess gets anger over a discussion on the thread and decides she will not be swapping your items and informs you she is sending them back to you (un-swapped) is this allowed?
I have invested the cost to mail in both directions and the expense to create the items and the time factor and feel those items should be swapped regardless of that hostess anger over remarks amongest swappers in the thread. Seems childish to deny the swap to take place. please advise is their any rules governing this situation. it is a form of discrimination by a hostess with considerable cost to the swapper.
this same hostess has personal Facebook friends holding up the swapping of the items past date which aren't even members on SCS, I thought every person swapping had to be a SCS member and sign up through the thread. Is adding personal (Facebook) friends like this also allowed? she has 3 (personal Facebook friends) swapping and we are waiting on 2 of them now. they were added at the end of swap (not even a refernce about them this is only reference to them in all the thread. no check in's like rest of us and its stated like this :::
Jacque--friend of hostess-hanging pocket
Brenda (friend of hostess)-tags
Trudy-friend of hostess-postal

In regard to the rules on the items you mention, this is what the Hostess 101 thread says:
Quote:
If you find that a swap did not follow the rules, contact the swapper asap. If there is enough time, the swapper might be able to fix the mistakes. Hostesses reserve the right to not accept swaps that did not follow the rules. You can not reject swaps because you simply didn’t like the card.
Swappers must post to your thread to sign up. If they send you a PM to sign up, ask them to post in the thread also.
Please note: If you are advertising your swap in other venues including message boards, blogs, websites, etc, please only add swappers that are members of SCS and the Swap Group. If there is a problem with the swap, we can not help you if the problem swapper is not a member of the SCS swap forum user group.
Hostesses must be firm on due dates. In fairness to those that turn in on time, refrain from holding up the swaps to wait for late swappers.
Hostesses that fail to return swaps in a timely matter (within ten (10) days of the due date) more than three (3) times will only be allowed to have one open swap at a time.
I will be contacting you and the hostess regarding these issues PRIVATELY. If you have further questions, please send me a PM.
Hi there, I am new and still have a hard time getting around on here but I did sign up for a swap, Fabulous Flowers due in June but I can't find the first posting area about it where I signed up. I asked a question last night so I did find it last night but can't find it again this a.m. Thanks.
