Lydia I am not sure if we are talking about the same thing, but the PM you sent me is not readable in the main message section, however it is readable in the Quick Reply box and the email notification. Hope this helps.

My add for today-PMs are affected too. I got one today I can hardly read for all the code inserts. It feels actually like it is getting worse and spreading.

Can Internet Brands come into the boards and see this for themselves right?

Of course they can LOL - they've been working on this for weeks. Several of the fixes I hope are released today but they are in QA. I know the toggle from html to WYSIWYG is on staging, and the link formatting.

Not sure yet if that will fix the code issues - I'm sure I'll find out today.

Things still running together after you preview an edit... this should be a neat double-spaced list. I'll circle round after you flag the next update and try to edit it then. I backed out and left the original when I saw I was going to end up with this.

This is all Greek to me....one thing I've noticed that comes and goes for me is when I have a challenge open and click on the gallery, another window does not always open up for the gallery, the challenge window changes. I know this is small potatoes compared to all the other issues, but I'm curious. Thanks for everyone's hard work in fixing all this stuff.

There was no update yesterday. I'm inquiring about timing.

I'm not sure what you mean. You mean you're clicking on the link for the challenge gallery in the forum and instead of opening a new tab, it opens that link in the same tab?

That should be a browser preference setting - what browser are you using? I can find the setting for you.

Sabrina - I need your help. Can I change your password so that they can log in as you? I'll also need the exact steps that you took to create that post.

None of us can make this happen on our end and we're about to lose our minds.

Sure, just let me know if you change it!

Steps: (Chrome up to date, Windows 10 up to date)

1: open the post.

2: click Edit post

3: Click Go advanced

3: make edits

4: toggle the edit mode in the hopes of seeing what I have actually changed

5: Close the window in a hurry without saving.

I see that toggling the editor mode seems to be one trigger for it. But normally I would do that all the time, because I tend to do some of my composing in HTML. I often find the colour goes AWOL if I don't, because if you add colour and then hit return to write the next line, the colour vanishes - because the code for it gets shunted outside the URL brackets - and the only way to see what I'm doing to fix it is in HTML.

And in fact I don't even think I had switched mode today when composing tomorrow's challenge: I shot for writing it in one go with no edits, but hadn't added colour to the gallery link. I went in, simply added the colour code, and then spent the next few minutes re-spacing everything.

Default IMPORTANT!!

Password change:

I have to move the WTUI challenge later on, so I need to know when you change my password and what the new one is. If I'm awake, I move it around 5 am my time, otherwise it's more like 6.30.
And, I was going to edit my previous post here to say this, but no toggling modes, just click on edit and I had the same issue - the text box immediately came up as below. So I didn't edit it, just added this post.

Okay - I've documented the edit weirdness so I don't need to change your password. I'm looking for users who create new posts with code in them.

Right--I did not edit anything and that is what the post looked like.  I can edit post 2-6, but when I open them, they look all wonky too.  And, those posts were not originated in word--typed write in the post.

I have not tried to start a new thread anyplace to see what happens then.

Lydia--I just started a test thread in the swap forum and it seems OK.

I tried to edit and everything looks like it used to.  Can you delete this test thread now?

and this thread is showing a few wonky symbols, but if I do to edit, everything comes up.  For Post  #1,  I think I created from scratch and did not copy from Word, but I am not sure.  Post #2 is also weird and I know that I typed that one right in the thread.\

Lydia. Is there still something in the works? I still have issues with those two threads. And PM’s have the extra characters too. Thanks.

I'd love to know too. I've been putting off writing challenges because of the problems editing, but one of them can't wait much longer.

No, in fact it was always toggled off before, or at least there was no visual indication on the button when you used it to toggle between HTML and WYSIWYG. It always looked inactive. However you could easily tell you'd switched mode if there was relevant content that then showed up as either HTML or WYSIWYG. For a simple text post, I could only tell because switching modes moves my cursor to the end of the text, and, most important, allows me to edit without producing gibberish. Otherwise I would go to edit a typo and words would all start running into each other.

I was about to think I'd wasted a huge amount of time prepping a challenge post yesterday, but as WYSIWYG isn't fixed yet, I don't need to feel that. Phew.

Toggling editor mode still seems to cause all the lines to run together when editing. I think I'll try to avoid that. Yes, I cleared cache, logged out, logged in. Currently on mobile, will try PC later on.Thanks for the fixes so far, tech team.

OK, a straightforward edit of this, no toggling of editor mode, still causes all the lines to run into one block?? test

Lydia--I logged out and cleared my cache this morning.

But, this thread is still wonky. closed ~ we creating fun card kits making cards ~ 2020 a t631614.html

And, when I edit post 3, even though it looks good, when I go to edit, this is the screen shot I get.

Yeah so it's not going to cleanse existing posts of the old extra font tags. On this post: 21894779 post1.html

I went to edit toggled from HTML to WYSIWYG and that way I could see the extra garbage and remove it for you.

Post 3 is fine in "go advanced mode" for the toggle - looks like they missed the toggle on the quick edit - I'll enter a ticket for that.

Thanks! The first post looks good-I can go in a fix the little things left.

Will the ticket you are entering fix all of those first posts?

This thread still has the garbage when I go to edit. Can you fix that too?

No these all have to be manually fixed.

Edit> Go advanced > toggle to WYSIWYG and remove extra tags

It shows that way in the quick editor and here in the quote, but not actually in the post. I think that's due to the fact that they missed the toggle in quick edit.

Even in Go Advanced I'm still getting everything running together when I edit and preview - now on the PC, cache cleared etc.

Looks like all the master challenge lists will be a longer job later in the year! It's easier to keep on top of a month at a time. The last three lines I just posted would be correctly spaced - but I'm not going to save the changes because I don't want to waste my time sorting out the rest of it.

Lydia--I think I fixed all of my posts and threads this morning. Thanks for everything--I am sure this was on huge headache for the past few weeks.

Currently on mobile, will try PC later on.Thanks for the fixes so far, tech team.OK, a straightforward edit of this, no toggling of editor mode, still causes all the lines to run into one block?? test
Maybe I have a different definition of on-- it's always on WYSIWYG for me, and I'd rather have the other view so I can always see the editing tags. In fact, I used to have the other view as the default until an update a few years ago, so now I ALWAYS have to toggle it off.

Hi Emily,

I wasn't referring to what was visible in the posts, I just meant the actual appearance of the editor mode toggle button. Up till it broke, to me it always looked like the other ones, there was no blue line box around, so it was uniform with all the other edit options. It always used to look like the first picture - now it always looks like the second one until I toggle it. (And before, even when you did toggle, it never had that box line around it, I can swear to that because on my phone, where I use it a lot, I often couldn't tell which mode I was in).

Now, there used to be two straightforward options available in your user profile that you could customise simply between HTML and WYSIWYG. I was going to suggest you could choose HTML if that's your preference, but when I went looking for the options to tell you, it's changed. There are now 3 options to choose from. It's in Edit Options and the Miscellaneous Options, message editor interface right down at the bottom of the page. You could experiment with that. That's relatively new, because it's not all that long since I remember there just being two options.

I apologize for not reading all 155 posts but maybe this fits? I just put a link in a post and it looks like this:

BUT - when I go back in to edit it, the youtube video does show up. When I leave and look at the post, again the code is there. This is on other peoples' posts too. Sorry if this is redundant - I haven't been down here in this section for a while.

I understand that there was some sort of "fix" that took place in the past day or two. For me it was an un-fix. My posts had been working GREAT for the past few weeks. Now this morning (I wasn't on SCS yesterday) the posts are all wonky. I got some jibberish, extra line spacing, and if/when I tried using colors, font size, or graphics it really became a big mess.

So they fixed it but not all the way. You have to be in HTML mode to post the video, not wysiwyg. I do have a ticket in for that, but in the meantime that's how you get it to work.

Still some extra coding creeping in. I did NOT put all those groans there... straightforward quote and reply. And I've toggled through all three edit modes in both advanced and normal and can't see them to delete them. I'd almost delete the whole post if I could.

ETA: weird and weirder. I went back quickly to edit my post to apologise for the groans, and when I submitted that edit, the groans disappeared.

Yep..I'm still seeing extra stuff, too. Kittie nearly went blind w/ the Featured Stamper post last night. Editing is far worse than creating a new post. And I'm having the same problem as Sabrina w/ trying to update the FS & IC Master Lists every week. Editing the lists takes out all the spaces (insert Sabrina's groans here). Worse yet, there aren't even any indicators that's it doing it until you save the post. Then the fun starts. BTW, when editing an existing post, there is no real difference in the appearance whether you're in HTML or WYSIWYG. In fact, when I start to edit, any existing type is in HTML, but anything I add is WYSIWG unless you click the A/A button. Then it's code from there on out. No switching back.
