Funny, but it isn't happening in our alpha thread?

and the link I just posted, I used the globe icon, posted my link name. In other threads when I do that it posts the way to the thread but not the name!

Some were trying to post links to their card for challenges. I was able to post a good link by copying the link from the address car, going into a reply box, clicking on the A/A box and then pasting.

I've found that as long as I click the A/A button first, I don't get the garbledy gook!

I spent quite some time this morning typing my list of stuff to sell directly into a post - not pasted from anywhere - and it's still full of all of the coding nonsense. I've put "please delete" in the title and removed the body of the post so it can get gone, but now I have no clue what to try...

Good to know - Sue - try that?

Really there's not much that can be done until we release the update.

I did try that, to no avail. I have everything listed on my blog, with pictures - is it against the site rules to just post a link in the buy/sell forum?

Do we know when the update is going to be released?  It's really challenging to even  read the PMs I'm getting.

Thanks!

If you read a PM, read the bottom box, under the main message, where it says Quick Reply.  Everything seems to be right there--not wonky things!

I remember seeing a banner yesterday about the site being down for an update.  But, I am not sure if it happened as some threads are still very wonky.  I post in some and they are fine--others still have all of the extra "stuff.

Yes. It's strange but the Alpha thread I post in has no issue. The other threads I just click on the A/A button first.

When I reply, that A/A button is always selected. Clicking on it turns it off and then my post looks good.

Thanks for the tip on the A/A button and it worked for me on new posts and to edit some posts from the past.

But--this thread of mine, only the first post, is way wonky.  Do you think I will need to redo it or just wait to see when all of the bugs are fixed?

Holy heck that's a mess. Leave it at least until my conference call today so I can get word on a fix.

Okay can someone here recreate what they did and see if it's still a problem?

Yes - I'm still having problems with no WYSYWIG. I usually edit in HTML anyway but would toggle between the two to see the end result.

And when I  edit or type a post and preview it,  all the formatting like line spacing disappears so that everything is jumbled into one single paragraph. That has been happening from day one of this upgrade. It  happened both when previewing a brand new post and when editing and previewing an existing one.

Ignore the highlighting, that's for something else, but when I go in to edit my TLC staging template, it ends up bundled into one single paragraph like this... I had to insert all the line spaces twice when I was composing next week's challenge and lost them after a preview.

It is nice to be able to add attachments and use the formatting options again, that's appreciated.

Reported WYSIWYG - the lack of hard returns is *probably related, and I've reported it but I'll include your good description as well. Thanks

But as far as composing a post and having all the garbage in it, that's not happening any more, correct?

I haven't been seeing it in other posts today. It wasn't happening to me anywhere, though because I routinely toggle into HTML whenever I have any problems with a post, so that's observation not personal testimony.

I misspoke. Here's a post from today, so it shouldn't have any code in it and it does: ~~ announcements ~~ chit chat ~~ questions ~~ t466438.html

Not Linda's post, which was yesterday, but Angie's reply is time-stamped today.

Hmmm. No. I've just tried in both Firefox and Chrome in threads where I know it was happening. (There were some threads where I never saw it, like the gallery mods). Can't get it in a PM either, where it was happening all the time. Sorry.

I misspoke on the PMs too, just got one I could only read in the email notification or the quick reply box. It was from Faye, and in connection with this issue. I suggested she post here and give details of browser, OS etc.

That's a copy/paste because I don't know how to do a screen shot!

I'm using Chrome, having problems on both my Acer Chrome Notebook and the desktop which also uses Chrome.

My emails also include that gibberish language.

Were you pasting from somewhere else when you got that? I've sent lots of PMs with no issue so I need to be able to tell them exactly how to reproduce it.

Hi Lydia no I went to my control panel from the little envelope icon at the top of our home page (I always do it that way) then to private messages and then send new message I realized that the coding always came before or after punctuation etc so eliminated all of that the second time and it was fine.
The only time I copy and paste anything to put into a thread is for favourites and I use Notepad for that. I always use Google for everything.

I had the same problem on the 27th when I responded to a PM from bubblesx4 but at that point It hadn't dawned on me that it was the punctuation that was causing the coding to be visible. hope this helps.

I can tell a few things are fixed (YAY!), but there's still a bunch of wonky going on. I just finished writing both the IC & FS posts for this weekend. Tools & attachments work, but the code thing is still a problem. There really is no difference in the A/A selection. What I see is code/code. And the biggest problem is if you edit your post in any way, it removes ALL THE SPACES. It's so hard to put them back when everything is run together like that.

I had to add spaces back in 3 times & when I change links, I know I'll have to do it again. Maybe it's different on a Windows machine, but I'm on a Mac.

Here's an example: IC739 Murale Design
This was written before the problems & was perfectly formatted. All I did was click edit & save. No changes were made. Just doing that removed all the spaces.

Yes the A/A thing I opened a ticket for today - what is your browser? What's weird is one of us uses Firefox and the button works fine. It doesn't work for me in Chrome.

Was just going to add it:
MacOS, Catalina 10.15.2, Safari 13.0.4

Here's an example of the space removal problem: IC739 Murale Design
This was written before the problems & was perfectly formatted. All I did was click edit & save. No changes were made. Just doing that removed all the spaces.

Not just Mac. After 3 goes of putting all the spaces back in my TLC, I included wording to cover the facts that links might not be formatting properly and that I would likely link my card in a second post. Since it's usually about 5.30 am when I move my challenge, I am NOT up for any messing around fixing things at that time. Windows 10, fully up to date, Chrome.

I don't blame you, Sabrina. I'm feeling a little cross-eyed after doing that for two posts. Then I edited my signature... you can guess what happened.

BTW..my signature looks fine here, but look what it does when I comment on a post. It adds code I can't even see or remove when editing. I also tried looking/editing it in Firefox, but no go there, either.

Don't really know how, but I managed to fix most of it.

I just tried to post in the Moovers thread and got this:

I had posted quick replies before that, and they were messed up so for this one I clicked advanced and clicked the a/a thing.  Still messed up.

<div>I'm not going to update you guys if you can't read it, you'll have to wait.&nbsp;&nbsp;</div><br><br>

So - - obviously this forum works.  The Thank You threads in the BRAK forum don't work for me, nor does that chat thread.

I owe a lot of thank yous for birthday cards last week!
