Default Suggestion: be able to sort swaps by due date

Hi there. I'd like to offer a suggestion.

1. The easier request:
I participate in a lot of swaps on SCS and it would be very helpful to be able to sort through swaps, within each category, by the date the swap items are due to arrive to swap hostess or host.

For example, we could sort by date in the 'ATC' swap category or sort by date in the 'Cards' category.

2. The more complex request:
I do participate in swaps in various categories (i.e. ATC, Cards and so on) so the ability to sort by date across all swap categories as well would be amazing.

I LOVE SCS and this wonderful world of creation and sharing that we have due to your hard work and I thank you for all you do for us.

Okay -

You officially win my "Interesting idea of the month" award!!

Fascinating.

Okay - there might be a way to do this, but it would require a little discipline and just a guidelines change.

Thread title is one of the sort options in the forum.

So if we used the date as the first item in the thread title like this:

10312013 Downton Abbey ATC Swap - then users could sort each forum by the due date easily. This would not accommodate #2 but it would be pretty cool adn give a standard format to the threads.

My original thought was just a volunteer adding swaps and dates to a Google Doc, which could be sorted any which way, and would take care of #2.

I will bring the swap mods attention to this and see what their ideas are.

It could have hostess, title, #, Due Date, Type, anything you wanted to sort by.

That is terrific, Lydia, thanks so much !!

Can't wait to hear what the mods come up with.

I have a programming background so making things more user-friendly has been ingrained for years LOL

And being part of the SCS community is where I use the other side of my brain being particularly fond of creating with reckless abandon

I was out looking at the "Get it Together' forum and it looks like they're trying to put the state first in their titles - same principle

Hi Lydia, oh most powerful and revered Webmaster of SCS

I never heard back from you 'yay' or 'nay' so I'm going to assume the answer is 'nay' unless you tell me otherwise.

Thanks for all you do.
