Question Not sure what is going on

but I have had 3 attacks on my computer tonight all coming from this site. Luckily my Norton's has stopped it each time. Is anyone else having any trouble?

Not lately, but I have had attacks before coming from this site.

Yes, we have had trouble for two days. How can you tell from where the attacks are coming?

You mean coming from SCS? Do you have more details, please? I would never suspect such a thing, but I have McAfee which updates multiple times a day.

Not tonight. However, in the past I have had things blocked from this site. I am not sure they are attacks though... I assumed they were some sort of pop up trying to run that McAfee blocked as suspicious.

You all might want to post these kinds of concerns in Site Suggestions rather than Everyday Chit Chat. I'll send a link to Daven and Kurtis for help. I'm NOT a computer person at all, but I suspect the attacks are not coming from SCS. Daven or Kurtis can better help you, though.

hi all, I've moved this thread to Site Suggestions.

well, hmm. I'm not too sure what to say about this. could you give us some more details Holley? tell us what you see happening, and what Norton is doing. be as specific as you can. I'm happy to help however I can.

I was just searching the forums and my Norton's popped up and said an attack attempt was blocked from splitcoaststampers. And then a few minutes later I received another one. It came across as high risk when I viewed the details.

I'm sorry I can't give you much more than that. I logged off my laptop not too much after I posted the original message as I needed to get some things done. I am at work right now, so I can not go into my Norton's until this evening.

I'm sorry that is not much detail for now.

Thanks.

hmm, well I guess it would depend on what Norton views as an attack. we do use "cookies". if you're not familiar with them cookies are little files that get saved to your computer so that it remembers certain settings. as you go from page to page on the site for example, cookies are what enable you to stay logged in. if Norton has the ability to give you any more details I'd be interested in hearing what's triggering the alert.

Did you recently upgrade your Norton? Maybe it doesn't recognize SCS as an acceptable site. We used to have Norton, but it was such a pain. Now we use Zone Alarm and Kaspersky.
