Maybe I'm color blind or something...
... but I can't really tell the difference in the shades of colored-in squares that depict which threads have new posts / hot threads / threads I've posted in, etc.
Am I alone in this delimma?

Nope, they all look orange to me, or else grey. I think it's supposed to be a different shade if I've posted, but I can't tell the difference unless it's buried in a bunch of gray pages.

Same here......the reds and oranges all look the same on the PC....but, there is a 'slight' difference when I'm on the laptop. Maybe Daven and his guru's can come up with something different between the reds and oranges???

The reason your having a hard time telling them apart is because the are almost the same color. I'll see if we can get them changed.

LOL--I am "partially" color blind, and boy, I know what you are talking about. I stare real hard to try and see a difference as well.

Can anyone help us? Anyone? Anyone?
(I'm thinking maybe a purple box... or a green box... anything... anything at all!)

Duh!
So that's what those colors mean....I always wondered about that. Maybe I should go back and read the For Newbies section

Daven has to edit the template and since he has been at CHA he hasn't been able to get to this yet.

Back in the "dark ages" when I first started visiting this site, there were other symbols, not just colored boxes. I think they were envelopes...open, closed, stuff in them, empty, etc. They were really easy to see and understand. Is there any reason we can't have those back??? (Murphy's law says no...it was probably a previous version of the program or something...LOL!)

I'm sure there's lots to do after getting back from CHA.... I'm hoping it's just that.
The oranges/reds are really too close to distinguish them on the monitors I've used. Maybe some of the newer, higher res monitors are better. I've seen other indicators used on other forums and they were more intuitive. These different colored squares kind of remind me of the jokes that SNL did about the security threat level colors.
