Can anyone PLEASE tell me why I cannot get to Forums. So many of them come up with a mess of just names, etc. I also tried to open Julie's directions for her Itty Bitty Photo book and it won't open. I am stumped!!!

Actually, prandva wasn't deleted, Shawna - she's still there. She's just seeing some funky stuff in the forums. She was going to cut & paste here to see if anyone else had the same issue. I think it is a browser setting, but not sure.

jenn, I think she's having a problem that I've heard about from one or two other people. I've got it flagged at home, but not here at work. if we could get a description of what she's seeing that might help jog my memory. I think it's related to security-related software or something though. does she have Norton installed? or other software installed recently?

It was a lot of gibberish. Lots of << stuff, etc.

Hey Daven,
Here is what prandva told me about her loggin into forums problems.
Wendi, the following is what I just got when I tried to go to a forum.....it is typical of what I get......

Wendi,
I think I'm one of the people that Daven's talking about as having the problem. It sounds a lot like what happened to me. It was MacAfee applications that caused the problems.
Tell your friend to try this:
If she's running MacAfee, disable MacAfee Privacy Service and see if she can get into the forums and see the attachments.
If she discovers that was the problem, tell her to try these things in this order:
1) Update the privacy service software using the "Update" option in the McAfee security center program.
2) Do a Microsoft "Windows Update" - it's a menu option under "Tools/Windows Update" in Internet Explorer 6.0. Download any critical updates, especially any IE 6.0 service pack.
Note that I'm not a computer expert, just a somewhat experienced home user - so if this doesn't work, I'm stumped, too!
HTH,
Jeanne

Great news, Pat! I love when I'm actually helpful (and I remember how frustrating that problem was)! Jeanne and Daven to the rescue!
I'm running Windows XP with IE 6.0 - if you have the same setup, I imagine that the same steps should fix it. After you get a good forum fix for a while, you could try updating your McAfee stuff - after I did those steps, I could run McAfee and the forums worked at the same time. (Sometimes I do have to disable Priv Service for an attachment - not all the time, just sometimes.... wierd!)
Have fun reading all the posts you can click on!
