BANNER AD - CALCULATE THE NAME OF YOUR PERFECT LOVER?

I was in the Demo Chit-Chat Forum when a banner ad at the bottom of the page told me I could: Calculate the exact name of your perfect lover. It then had a space to put in my name and a button to 'Calculate'. I don't think this is an appropriate ad for SCS!

I've been seeing a lot of odd ads like that lately myself, but what really got me is that while I'm reading your post I noticed that same inappropriate ad blinking away at me.

I realize that this was taken care of, and that is appreciated. In addition to the content, which I assumed was a bit over the edge - what was even more annoying was the flashing red banner. It was especially hard on the eyes. Thanks for the concern for this site.

any time you see what you believe to be an inappropriate ad, just give us the domain name (site) it points to and we can take a look.

for the most part these are a rare occurrence. all our ads are direct sales (clients we work with directly, like Cornish Heritage Farms, My Favorite Things, Gina K Designs, etc.) or Google. we're fairly selective about who we work with, and google does a good job overall of preventing inappropriate or obnoxious ads.

I don't think it's appropriate either, some people think it will tell the truth anyway. Your right, I don't think it's an appropriate ad either for SCS!!!!

Try running a spyware check on your computer ... several people have found that solved their problems with inappropriate ads.

Run your spyware/virus scan. Daven doesn't allow those types of ads on SCS...especially once they've been brought to his attention ~ more than once.
