Tried that---it wouldn't let me do it and said it was an invalid post. I thought that it must have been removed at that split second, but yet the offensive post was still there, so I did it the other way. Sorry.

Sometimes you will see that "Invalid Thread" message if there was a site glitch at the moment you pressed the button. Happens to me on occasion when I'm browsing the forum. Just refresh the page or hit the 'back' button and try again!
