Here is a card I posted last night that the URL isn't a link.

Also, I am seeing a "edit photo info" link on all photos (even those that are not mine), when I click it, I am taken to the old view photo page which no longer has an "edit photo" link. I assume you are still working on the edit photo link, but thought I should mention that too.

I do love the changes I'm seeing (avatar, ability to go to a users forum postings, the upload category always in the top left) -- great work guys!!

you click the "edit photo info" to veiw the edit options. I assume you can't edit other peoples photos so when you click that it should give you a page that just doesn't have the "edit photo info" button.

Scott could probably change that so it only shows on yours.

I just left a comment on a card and spelled some things wrong. I went back to edit the post - but there isn't an edit button!?!

I like all the changes - very cool and speedy!

Exactly -- I've noticed the same thing. I have a double comment that I wanted to remove but can't because there isn't an edit button.

Also Scott, I'm not always seeing clickable links in photo descriptions, either. My last gallery upload (a DD card) has a link inserted but it didn't show up as clickable.

Other than that, pages are loading well and look great! Thanks for the fabulous work!

When I try to view this card, the image won't load. Additionally, when you look at the thumbnails of adjacent cards, the card being viewed shows up twice in the row of thumbnails. When you click on any of the other cards from the row of thumbnails, the card shows up but thumbnail still shows up twice. I hope that makes sense.

This card comes up when it is clicked on but it doesn't show up in my gallery and not at all yesterday. I did edit so I will check again tomorrow to see if it works.
Thanks so very much! I am lovin' the changes...I am sure you guys are lovin' working out the kinks! YOU ROCK!

I can't remember - was the edit feature ever available in the gallery comments? I posted a comment on a photo and wanted to fix a typo and couldn't.

I believe the problem of cards appearing more than once in the thumbnails should be resolved... Is the image loading problem resolved as well? Thanks...

Default Zip File in My Favorites folder

Hi,
I have attempted to use the download the zip file feature within My favorites. I always get an error message indicating that the file is corrupt or invalid when I try to open it. Any thoughts?

Thanks for your hardwork on making this a wonderful place to be!

The thumbnails are perfect now, but I still can't get that card (Christmas Notecards by parrothead) to load in the large view. Thank you for all you do to make SCS such a great resource!!!!!

Hi Scott and Daven, love the new look, especially seeing the posters' avatars. Didn't we use to be able to PM the poster directly from within their post? I thought it would jump us to the PM function and already would have the subject line filled (could also be wishful thinking)...

you didn't *use* to be able to, but you can now. while in the gallery, click any username and it'll display a menu (just like the forums do). one of the options is sending a private message. it doesn't fill in the subject line, but that's a great idea. I'm sure scott can do that :^)

I think when you would click their username, it would bring up a new page with a PM??

clicking a username on the old page, if I recall, brings up the gallery profile for that member.

In the old gallery, clicking their username brought up their gallery profile (listed their screen name and gallery stats -- number of uploads, comments, etc), but you couldn't PM them from there.

Keywords are showing as one complete link (with spaces) but all underscored, instead of separate words. If you click on it, the only card that comes up will be the one you are already viewing.

Here's an example:

Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Love having the avatar with the pictures. You guys are the greatest!

I've had this happen, too, maybe 3 or 4 times. If I refresh, I get the whole pic.

I noticed this problem too. The difference is that some users are separating their keywords with commas and others aren't.

These users didn't use commas:

Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

These did:

Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

And I have a question about the links in the gallery thing: when we want to include a link in our image's description now, should we be using BBC? No more being lazy? ;)

Hello! Since the changes...every time I click on a link to a gallery pic...all I get is a partial view. Is this normal? Am I the only one?

I am in no hurry for a response...so please don't rush. k? Many thanks!

Yes. I don't know if Scott can change things to make this a default or if we just need to spread the word about it...but a comma will do the job in the meantime.

Hi!
I added a card to the gallery just minutes ago and still have this problem. Here's a link to the card with the URL in the description field that is not working as a hyperlink: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

Awesome changes overall! Can't WAIT for what's next!!

Cheers!
-Anna.

OH! I thought of another thing -- when writing a post, pressing ENTER after a sentence used to start a new paragraph. Now, it order to get a blank line between paragraphs, you have to hit ENTER twice. While this isn't such a problem on gallery comments, it's a pain when writing PMs or longer thread posts. It definitely makes formatting a post so it's legible a challenge.

And, another thought -- can we go back to Ariel as the default font used when creating a new post? Once a post is made it displays in Arial, but when it's being drafted it shows in Times New Roman, and that is just a harder font to read. (for me, anyway)

Ciao! ;)

I don't know if they are working on changing it so the URLs are automatically made links or not, but if you enclose the link in the BB code (i.e., use [ url = "link" ] text [ /url ] -- without all the spaces) it should work. I do hope they go back to automatic parsing of the links, but if not or in the meantime, using the bbcode will get the links working.

Search & Keywords?

Here is a card:
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
that has keyword IC23 listed (no extra keywords, so that shouldn't be the problem).

When I click on the keyword IC23 while looking at her card, the screen that comes up doesn't include her card; nor does a search for IC23 (and the search is started from the gallery home and from the search page - not just the box).

Any clues?

OK, please explain what "enclose the link in the BB code" is? Where do I get that, or how do I type that? I'm totally  .

Also, I didn't see this mentioned already, so I will ask about it: the "Techniques" part of the keyed in information for the uploads is no longer showing. It now stops with "Accessories."

No problem. BB code stands for Bulletin Board code. To use it, if you want a link use this:
[ url = "link" ] text [ /url ] -- without all the spaces. The "text" will be clickable and go to the "link". HTH.

When I click on the keyword IC23 while looking at her card, the screen that comes up doesn't include her card; nor does a search for IC23 (and the search is started from the gallery home and from the search page - not just the box).
This appears to be fixed now...don't know if it was a user error or if you did something - but thanks either way

There is an "Edit Photo Info" link should show up under the details but before the other thumbnails. When you click it it will take you to the 'old gallery' page where you can then click "Edit Photo" where you are used to seeing it.

Whoops! I really meant didn't we used to be able to go directly to the posters' gallery from within a single post. I can't seem to find out how to do that anymore.

Kelly there did used to be a link directly to the user's gallery (in parens next to their name), but now, you need to click on their name and a little pop up menu appears -- very similar to the forum one -- and within that menu is a link to the gallery. HTH
