I know there's directions somewhere on the site that will probably be more helpful than mine. But here's how I post a link in simple terms.
The first thing to do is copy the web address for your card.
Go to the thread where you want your link. Scroll to the bottom. Click "reply" at the bottom, left. You'll see a window. Type whatever you want and then when you're ready to post your link, type the word(s) that you'll use for your link and hit the return key.
Highlight the word with your mouse. I like to use the "bold" first, the big letter B above the window at the left. Then I like to use color. Big A at the top, middle. Hit the small arrow at the right side and choose your color. Then I'm ready to link up.
Highlight everything with your word(s) for the link.
Click the blue global with the clip. If you hold your cursor over, it will say "insert link". It's on the bottom line, about 6 over from the right. A smaller window will appear. This is where you copy the web address for your card.
When the window first appears, it reads "http://". I don't need that as my address copy will copy that over. You need to check if you have double "http", or just one. So, use your arrow key to scroll through the web address to the beginning. If there's two "http", take one out. Next time, delete the "http" that shows before copying your card's address.
Okay. Now, hit "ok" or "done" or whatever it is. Use the preview post at the bottom to check it out. You can click the link during your preview and see if it takes you to your card.
It sounds complicated, but you'll get the hang of it. Hope it helps.
I understand how to post a link when you are posting in a thread on the forum....but how do you do the "one or two word" links when you are posting a card to the gallery? For instance, if you are doing an Inspiration Challenge card, and you want to post a link with your card to the item that inspired you on the Inspiration Challenge website -- is there a way to post the link and just have a highlighted word or two like "this vase" or "flowered pillow"? I didn't see any blue globe chain-link button when you upload a card.
OK so when I clicked on the globe chain icon the box came up for me to paste the link in, but when I right clicked, nothing came up? I couldn't paste it on that line. I used the method that understandblue posted. Anyone know what's up?
aw how nice of you to make a video for me! That is what I tried to do. When I clickd to globe icon, the window popped up, but when I right clicked or tried to hit control V the link wouldn't paste. when I right clicked the option didn't come up to paste. I wonder if this has something to do with windows 8? I just got it.

Yeah! It worked! At first, I typed it and put the slash mark going the wrong way and I couldn't figure out why it didn't work. But then I looked more carefully and realized the slash should be a regular slash and not a backslash -- and it worked! Thanks Lydia -- you're instructions are always so clear for those of us who are more technically challenged! Now I just have to figure out a way to remember the format to use.

Practice , it's the best way!! A post-it on your screen for a few days, but once you've done it several times you'll remember it.
thanks again for the help here. I still cant right click in that popup box when I'm on my desktop, but control+V is working. I googled and some other ppl had the same problem.

I'm not sure, its a new computer. I can copy and paste everywhere else, just not when i tried to paste that link. I did see some other people online talking about it, but not all of them had windows 8.
