Default Rationale for choosing forum? (long - sorry)

Could someone please tell me the rationale for choosing a forum to post in? Or, more specifically, what constitutes "Everyday Chitchat"? I have posted a few things in the EC forum, and they've been moved... For instance, I had a thread about what people have bought from infomercials. It was moved to the TV forum. It had nothing to do with tv other than the fact that the word "infomercial" was in the title. The thread was more about what kinds of dumb things (and I say dumb because I'm thinking of the things I've bought - lol!) people have bought. I can see a mild connection here to tv, but when I think of the "TV Forum" I think of television shows. Not purchases.

I had another thread/poll about whether or not folks believe in aliens, ufo's, etc. Posted it in EC, and noticed it has been moved to the "Fun and Games" forum... Ummm... I wasn't making a joke when I posted the thread. I was kind of seriously asking a question.

I think my idea of what consitutes everyday chitchat, fun & games, etc. is apparently very different from other peoples. I'd like to be on the same page though so that I can help eliminate work for the mods.... If someone could please advise, I would appreciate it.

while I am not sure which exact ones were moved, I as well would have put an infomercial in the TV area just b/c they are seen on TV (just shedding some light one possibly why someone moved it).

The other one I can't comment on (sorry).
If you prefer having it in another area you can PM me or anotehr mod with teh link and I can pop it back over.

With the new forums it does get tricky-that's for sure. But it does help keep track of threads in their "arenas" so to speak. I try and focus more on keeping stamping and non-stamping threads seperated, but even that is tricky sometimes. I tend to read teh little blurb under teh forums and use that as my guide, but as your comkments show that can even be tricky sometimes.

Wow-seems I have not really added any great insight, just wanted to tell you how I try and navigate and move threads, but like I said if you want something moved to a different forum then please PM me the link and I can move it for you. HTH

LOL!

I try to do all of the things you suggested, and yet they still get moved. . I guess it doesn't really matter where the thread goes, I was just thinking if I had a better understanding of why things are moved wherever (Everyday Chitchat and Fun & Games are totally eluding me. There are so many threads in F&G that I would have never thought to put there!) it would help me post in the right place to begin with and eliminate some work for you and the other mods!

Thanks for replying though!
