moving cards in gallery to albums

Hello! I recently inquired as to how I could put the cards already uploaded into my gallery into specific albums and I know now that once I create the album it appears at the bottom of the list of categories where I can place the card. So I have started to move some of my cards into albums, BUT I notice that once I choose the album as the category, the card is no longer shown in the gallery for the stamp set it was originally posted in, and does not appear when people search by stamp set for ideas etc. Am I doing something wrong or missing something?

If I want the card to appear both in the album and in a specific stamp set gallery, do I need to upload it twice and then end up with duplicates in my own gallery? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

Hi there!

You are correct - once you move it into an album, it no longer appears anywhere else. And unfortunately, we have a scan for duplicates, so it will delete your images if you have two.

Think of an album as its own separate gallery - that's why it's removed from other galleries.

Thanks for your quick response. So how do people find my cards then? They must have to be looking specifically for my gallery? Will they come up in a search of the general gallery with keywords at all?

Sorry for all the specific questions :-) I would like to organize them in albums but I also want people to be able to find them.

I totally understand the desire for organization

We do have album changes on the horizon too that may solve some of these issues.

But since the cards are not in the general gallery, they will not appear in a general gallery search for keywords, etc.

So if you want them to be totally searchable with keywords, it's best to use galleries and your member gallery and not albums.
