What Happen??

My original post on white cardstock was first posted in general stamping talk forum and yesterday it was transferred to tool and product talk forum. I have been trying to access the post since then but everytime I will get an error msg that the web page cannot be displayed. I don't have this problem with other posts. Have anyone encountered the same problem as me?

So far I have only read 1 response for the post and that was before the transfer was done.

If you can't access that, you may need to clear your cache. I have instructions for that in a sticky at the top of this forum.

Hi Joyce -

Did you use our instructions? If you are still getting that message, something isn't getting cleared. Could also be a cache at your internet service provider. Some providers cache pages for a long time.

Clearing your cache, cookies and browsing history. by UnderstandBlue at Splitcoaststampers

Try our steps and then reboot and see if that helps.

I followed the instruction to cache. Still can't access the post. The thing is I can get into other posts that are even longer than mine. The other posts could be dated before or after mine.

I'm also getting the random page cannot be displayed message with an operation aborted header.

Very frustrating.

So sorry about that! :(

The Page cannot be displayed message can be a number of things - your internet service is temporarily disrupted (this happens most frequently on a wireless connection) or possibly an issue with your browser or flash player.

What version flash player do you have, and what browser are you using? I'm on the site all day, using Firefox, and I have not seen this so it's hard for me to tell what the issue might be.

Joyce that is so bizarre. It's definitely cached somewhere either on your system or at your ISP.

I just pasted the link into a new browser, not logged into Splitcoast, and I can see the link and all the posts.

Can you try with Firefox or Chrome?

Hi Joyce. Sounds like you're having connectivity problems, and each time you lose your connection, the error page is in your cache. I would contact your Internet service provider and let them know. The problem is not on the site so there's not anything I can do from this end. I'm so sorry!

My connection is fine. That's that first thing I checked (DH is an IT guy, lol). I'm use IE8. Flash player I'm not sure about. I did the cache clean as you suggested (following your directions) and it didn't help. It's not the typical "no connection" page. It's a dialog box that says that the page cannot be loaded and then Operation Aborted with an "okay" box to click. Once you click, it takes you to the normal "no connection" page.

This just started and I've been browsing SCS for years on the same computer.

Could be your ISP - Time Warner caches pages for a long time...

Beate and most of our mods use IE8, so I don't believe it's your browser, but it is definitely something local because no one is having this problem who has your same browser preferences.

Check your firewall/antivirus settings and then I would contact your ISP for sure.

Must be in the settings. I'm certain it's not the connection because all of my other windows work fine, but once SCS errors out, the window churns and churns trying to reconnect but can't. I have to close the window, open a new one and then it works for a short period and I get the error message again. And it doens't happen on my iphone or DH's computer (same network).

Very strange but thanks for your help.

I have the same problem from time to time, as you describe, with both the operation aborted and the inability to go to a new site from the same window once the error appears.

I also have the problem from time to time on a local news website.

It started monday on SCS, and I want to say before that on the news site. I just wasn't paying attention to when it started on the news site.

However, I only get the errors on my office computer, not my home laptop. Both run IE7, and I do not have time warner.

Lydia, I don't need a solution, but I wanted Deb to know she's not crazy! ;)
