than to try to get too bold and change my avatar, because when i did it disappeared! crud, and i can't find an avatar site to even try to find anothe picture.
shoot, any suggestions?

I don't have an avatar because I've never bothered to learn how to hook my camera up to the computer. My son works at Ritz, so I can get a discount on getting my photos printed. So, I don't really claim to know anything about this.

But, I have noticed that people's avatars are different in the gallery than they are in the threads. The one in the gallery is the old one, or the first one they had, while the one in the threads changes from time to time. I guess they aren't hooked together. That would explain why you have nothing in the gallery, but you have one here.

Actually, avatars do change in the gallery. :) Try deleting your temporary files in your browser:

Tools > Internet Options > General > Delete Files > OK
