Used to be I was logged in continuously.. Recently I have had to log-in each time I visit the site, even if it is open in my browser and has been sitting idle for a while. I thought maybe you changed some of the site settings.
I am posting this because I just uploaded a card. After completing the upload, went to comment on another card, and bam I was automatically logged out and had to re log-in again.
Is anyone else having this issue? I checked my settings because I see someone else was having this problem, but I haven't changed anything on my computer...
I never knew that could happen either..
And, let me just say that, I have left my computer on and 3 windows open since I posted this.. have gone to the pool for a couple of hours, grocercy story.. you get the picture.. and miraculously, I am still logged in.... hmmm..
Not sure why or how, but I am happy..
Hope it continues tomorrow.. I don't know if it effect SCS that I am continuously logged in or not, or if it is preferred that users sign out/sign in as needed.. I just like being in and having to skip the 'log in' step..
Thanks..
Second time I had to log in this week - usually I don't have to log in as I am here every day. Then I got a message - invalid call to script. Now I'll go and try again to comment on a card - are you guys making some changes that are causing these errors?
there are some things going on behind-the-scenes, but I don't believe they have anything to do with logging in and staying logged in.
A week or so ago, I talked with someone whose security settings had recently been changed - her husband fiddled with something (we girls are so, so exact, lol) and then she was back on with no problems again. Hmm! Try reading more about cookies and IE here, and then look at your settings. A little change will probably help a lot. If you still have to login over and over, send me an email. We'll figure it out!
I just had to log in again. I'll check your info that you've posted, but my husband knows a lot less than I do about computers - so I know for a fact that we have not added anything. My 19 year old son has his own computer, so it's not him. He is our resident computer expert - so when he is in again - I'll get him to have a peek - he beginning his second year at University with a major in Computer Science........ let's hope he can figure things out! Course - he's no Daven or whomever is there in the background running the show! Thanks Jenn - I'll get him to have a boo at things.
Well that info was for IE5 - but I'm using IE8 - so that didn't help me - but I am limited in my knowledge. I'll get my son to look at it soon - and let you know -cute new avatar Jenn!
hmm, well we do have the new login page but I'm not aware of any issues with it at this point. debzi, if you get that message again could you take a screen cap and post it here?
as far as the site login, a typical cause of problems is security software that interferes with/deletes cookies. are you running anything like Norton Security or a utility that promises to clean up or optimize your computer?
Thanks Daven! I'm running Nortons -but I always am and I'm not aware of any changes made............As I say - when my son gets in - I'll get him to have a peek at my settings as far as security goes. I have not made any changes - but I'll get William to see if any have been made automatically by microsoft or by Nortons.
Forgive me this Daven - and thanks for responding so quickly - how do I take a screen cap again..... so ashamed of my igorance!!
I got bumped out while commenting on card a few moments ago - and then it bumped me to my change my settings for my password / profile page - really weird!! But - I did not have to re - sign in when that happened.
I am only running the current nortons - no other clean up stuff. Just the current Nortons - and I haven't changed anything - just so you know that much.
Okay - Daven - I've checked with my son and let him have a look at my computer. He tells me no settings have been changed. Further, since it only happened twice today on our computer - but the not the other times I came to split coast today - it has to be an issue with split coast rather than my computer, or I would consistently have to log in, rather than having to do that intermittently.
We did both* sleep* and turn off my computer to see if that caused my computer to lose it's cookies or automatic log in to split coast - and it didn't.
So - my son William thinks the issue lies with Split Coast - not my computer.
He showed me a how to do a screen cap - no futher problems with it so far as logging in - so I'll let you know if it happens again.
Thanks Daven - hope that helps you folks too. Thanks again!

I do use Cisco and one other security software program, but these are same that I have had since forever. I don't understand what would be causing the issues. I suppose it isn't a big deal, just a nuisance.
I do check 'remember me' when I sign in, but it doesn't seem to help.
Thanks for trying to 'it' out, whatever 'it' is.....
Yes, I am having the same problem and it's driving me batty!!

So, today I did not have to log in.. Apparently the alzheimers afflicting SCS has been solved, and it remembers me from yesterday - woot! Either that, or I am holding my mouth just right - LOL! Anyway, I no longer feel like I am in my own little version of that movie Groundhog's Day.
...Thanks to the 'powers that be' for fixing it.... holding my breath and hope that it will stay this way!!
