Default just a question

Hi. I uploaded a card a couple days ago and it got moved to the proper gallery and I completely understand that. It's good to have the gallery categorized. I don't understand why I don't get as many views though when it gets moved to a different category? I'm proud of my card and was anxiously waiting for at least one comment :(. I know it's pathetic but I'm just being honest, lol. Here's the card.

Hi there!!

WOW - that is beautiful!!

Okay - great question! A few things are happening here. Once it moves off the current day's uploads, views do drop a bit, that's normal. But also, our technique galleries are only seen by logged in users, so that may be part of it too.

Not everyone who LOVES your card will comment - but you will still get tons of appreciation in the gallery.

One thing I would do is edit your photo and add the keywords: patriotic, ODBD, star

That will add it to three more galleries than it's in now and show it to a larger group.

I have a video in my signature with some uploading tips that will help you maximize your gallery experience!

But don't be discouraged. Your card is amazing!

Lydia gave you a good, comprehensive response, but I wanted to note on the part I highlighted up above.

I'm going to guess that your card was moved to the shaker card gallery category, probably from your member gallery. That actually adds viewing potential to your card. When your card is in the shaker card category, anyone searching for ideas for shaker cards will see it. If your card remained in the member gallery category, the only people who would see it after it moved off the current day's uploads would be people who know to look in your specific member gallery for it.

I think a lot of people don't realize that no matter what technique, SU stamp set, or "anything but a card" category their project is uploaded to, their project will always be visible in their own member gallery, also.

And on a more personal note - I know from experience that it's very discouraging when people don't comment on your work, because I have several cards with no comments, too. Even though it still stings a bit, I've finally come to terms with it by rationalizing that I enjoy creating and sharing my cards, and my own opinions of my work should be most important to me. So please try not to be discouraged, and please continue to share your artwork in the SCS gallery.

An excellent post from Patricia . She's right about a card being in a specific technique or set gallery actually improving the views. I'm one who often looks through a technique gallery for ideas ;-).
A good way to get more comments, if you like, is to join in with some of the weekly challenges here on SCS where there's a real sense of community. Admittedly you'll get more comments if you post your card on the day, but I think that's really because we all suffer from not enough time for everything and don't always come back and check the next day for more uploads.
